As soon as Kolivan contacted Ulaz to prepare the infirmary because Regris needed immediate medical attention as soon as they returned he sprung into action so everything would be ready, he should have realized that someone would get hurt. It wasn't the first time he'd done emergency surgery on Regris, the younger man seemed to have a knack for getting injured during missions. With that being said Regris had never been caught up in an explosion before; Regris had been shot by a blaster, broken various bones during a few different missions and he once almost bled to death once after nearly being mauled to death by a wild animal, although getting caught in an explosion was a new one for Regris. Ulaz was glad that he was to remain within the main Marmoran headquarters so he could heal people his way, unfortunately it also meant he had to deal with his fellow operatives' carelessness from time to time.

When Keith and Kolivan returned to the main Blade of Marmora headquarters Keith told Antok that Regris was badly injured; he told the older man with a calm tone, but since Antok viewed Regris as the son he never had he got noticeably twitchy. Antok carried Regris all the way to the infirmary before he completely bled to death, judging by his condition Ulaz might have to restart his heart if it stopped beating at any time. Regris was barely breathing, but his bleeding had slowed down thanks to Keith's efforts to prevent him from losing too much blood. Keith followed Antok so that when Ulaz checked on him he could be there to answer any of the doctor's questions. The older operatives had seen a lot of their fellow Blades die, although Keith hadn't yet and he didn't plan on letting Regris die.

"What happened, exactly?" Ulaz asked Keith when he and Antok rushed in, giving Antok the chance to lay Regris on the examination table.

"Regris was caught in an explosion, the cruiser we were checking out was a trap." Keith answered as he stood a few feet away, hoping his friend would survive.

Ulaz quickly got a few of his medical tools from a drawer and put his mask on, he needed to work as quickly as possible if he was going to save Regris' life. He looked Regris over and knew that he would have to perform surgery on some of his vital organs, if he didn't then Regris would die. Antok used his communicator to contact Yemi who was a nurse during her spare time, Ulaz would need her help to save the younger man. Keith sensed Ulaz' distress which made him feel unnerved, if only Regris had listened to Kolivan then he wouldn't be on death's doorstep. Regris was known to be a little careless on missions, it was a wonder why Kolivan didn't just have him do a desk job or something just to keep him out of harm's way.

"Keith, I'm going to have to ask you and Antok to leave. I need to perform surgery on Regris." Ulaz spoke firmly, grabbing the anesthetic to put Regris under so he wouldn't unexpectedly wake up during his life saving surgery.

"Alright." Keith replied before he and Antok left the infirmary, both of them standing to the side when they saw Yemi rushing to help Ulaz.

Ulaz appreciated Yemi's help in saving Regris' life; even though she didn't have as much experience as he did she was still a skilled nurse, someone who he wanted by his side to help him. While he began the surgery Yemi got some surgical thread and a sterile needle ready, as well as a few other things they would need during the surgery. Keith and Antok hoped that he could save the young hybrid, they didn't want to have to see him get cremated if he died. Antok wasn't in the mood to see anyone after he helped get Regris to the infirmary and went to go have some alone time; he would keep his communicator on for when the surgery was done, but until then he needed to be alone. Keith, however, went to go look for (Y/n) so he could tell her about what happened and where Regris would be until she could see him again.

(Y/n) was casually taking her daily walk like usual when she saw Keith walking in the opposite direction in the same hallway, heading right towards her. His suit had a few rips in it and she remembered that he, Kolivan and Regris had gone on a mission. She had been patiently waiting for them to come back, but she was confused as to why she hadn't seen Regris yet; she'd seen Kolivan earlier, although he wasn't in the mood to talk. (Y/n) felt nervous when she saw the solemn expression on Keith's face and immediately knew that something bad must have happened during their mission. Keith wasn't sure how he would break the news to her about Regris almost dying, but he couldn't keep it a secret because she would find out one way or another.

"Hey Keith, how did the mission go?" (Y/n) asked Keitb as they stopped walking and they faced each other, not wanting to fear the worst.

"The mission was a failure. Regris was caught in an explosion and almost died, he's got a large gash on his left side, the fins on his tail are almost shredded and he's missing a few fingers." Keith told her as calmly as possible, keeping it as simple as possible; he didn't tell her about Regris almost bleeding to death, though.

"Where is he? Is he alive?" (Y/n) questioned, immediately fearing the worst case scenario; her friend had been caught in an explosion and nearly died, she just wanted to know if he was going to be alright.

"Ulaz and Yemi are operating on him right now, we'll be able to find out if he'll live later." Keith answered before he continued on his way back to his temporary quarters, needing some time to himself to process what happened only a few hours earlier.

(Y/n's) heart dropped and she ran all the way to the infirmary, hoping that she could get some kind of update on her friend's condition. She hoped that Ulaz and Yemi were able to save Regris' life, they just had to because he was still young and had his entire life ahead of him. As expected, the door to the infirmary was locked tight while they performed the life saving surgery on Regris before they put him in a healing pod. Thankfully there was a chair near the door for anyone waiting for their friend or significant other during any kind of surgery. All (Y/n) could do was pray that Regris would live through the surgery, luckily with Ulaz and Yemi working on him he would.
