~ The Baby Sling ~

Now that Rez was two weeks old Regris was wanting to try out the baby sling you found at the space mall. While you were doing something Regris put it on, adjusted it and carefully put Rez, who was sleeping, in it. Rez was still very tiny, but he fit in the sling perfectly. Regris smiled as he looked at his tiny son who continued to sleep despite being moved to a new location. He quietly walked out of his and your bedroom and went to find you.

"What are you making?" Regris asked you as he walked into the kitchen and saw you making something.

"Lunch." You replied, not looking up from what you were doing.

Regris smiled as he helped you by getting a couple glasses of water before sitting down. After you finished making lunch you put both plates on the table and sat down.

"You're wearing the baby sling. It looks good on you." You said, a smile appearing on your face when you saw him.

"Rez likes it too." Regris told you.

"Is he sleeping?" You asked him curiously.

"No… Oh, yes, he is." Regris said, looking down only to find Rez staring up at him.

Rez looked up at his father curiously, wondering what was going on. Regris smiled and baby talked to Rez for a moment before turning his attention to his lunch.

~ Messy eater ~

When it was time to start feeding Rez solids Regris prepared some meat and you mashed it up. Rez' teeth were tiny, so he probably wouldn't be able to chew actual pieces of meat just yet. You put Rez in his high chair and put his bib on and Regris brought the bowl of mashed up meat and a baby spoon over.

"Alright Rez, here comes the spaceship." Regris said as he got a spoonful of the meat and 'flew' it around while making spaceship sounds.

Rez giggled as he watched the spoon. He opened his mouth and let Regris feed him. Unfortunately, not all of the food went in his mouth and ended up spilling down his chin.

"He's a messy eater. Great." You said, trying to sound annoyed but failing.

Regris smiled as he gave Rez another spoonful, only for more of it to end up on his face. Rez grabbed at the food on his face and flung it at Regris. Regris was shocked when the food Rez flung at him landed right on his face. You had to cover your mouth with one of your hands as you tried not to laugh too hard.

"What are you laughing at?" Regris asked, turning to face you.

"Nothing!" You said, your voice muffled by your hand while trying to hold your laughter back.

"Right…" Regris said before wiping his face off, turning back to Rez and giving him another spoonful.

Rez giggled as more food spilled down his face. Regris couldn't stay in a sour mood for long, not with his son giggling the way he was.

~ This little piggy ~

While you were getting breakfast Regris was trying to keep Rez busy. Rez was a little cranky since he was hungry, but Regris had an idea that was foolproof. He knelt on the floor and touched Rez' big toe.

"This little piggy went to market and this little piggy stayed home. This little piggy had roast beef and this little piggy had none. And the last little piggy said 'wee wee wee' all the way home." Regris said as he touched each of Rez' toes from biggest from smallest.

Rez laughed as his father touched each of his toes on his right foot and recited the piggy nursery rhyme. As you made breakfast you smiled, happy that you taught Regris that nursery rhyme.

~ A babies babbling ~

While you were doing your hair in the bathroom Regris was sitting on the bed with Rez. Rez was now sitting up with the aid of a pillow as he babbled happily.

"Ba!" Rez said, startling his father a little.

"What?" Regris asked, not sure if he heard that right.

"Ba!" Rez said again.

"Y/n, Rez said his first word!" Regris said with excitement, careful not to scare his son.

"Regris, he's too young to say his first word." You said, walking over to the bathroom door and leaning against the door frame, still holding your hairbrush.

"Ba!" Rez said again, this time looking at you.

"See!" Regris said, getting excited for no reason.

"He's just babbling, 'ba' doesn't actually mean anything." You told him.

"Oh, I didn't know." Regris said, slightly disappointed.

"It's alright, he'll start saying actual words before you know it." You said before going back in the bathroom.

Regris turned his attention back to Rez who was now trying to crawl over to him. Regris picked him up and cradled him in his arms. He was determined to teach his son how to talk, no matter what.

~ Who's who ~

One evening while you, Regris and Rez were just hanging out in bed you noticed Rez looking from you, to Regris, then back again. It made you wonder if he knew the difference between his mommy and his daddy.

"Rez, where is your mommy?" You asked Rez.

Rez looked directly at you and pointed to you. This caught Regris' attention and he wanted to try it.

"That's right. Rez, where is your daddy?" You asked him.

Rez turned his attention towards Regris and pointed to his father. You couldn't help but have a huge smile on your face.

"He knows me so well." Regris said proudly.

Rez looked back at you and babbled happily. You picked him up and hugged him. Regris purred happily as he joined in on the hug.

~ Baby on the loose ~

Tonight you were reading a book and relaxing in the bedroom while Regris gave Rez a bath. Earlier that day Rez managed to get all dirty and even had sand in his hair. You were happy that you were just getting the chance to relax. Meanwhile, Regris was just getting Rez out of the tub when he realized that the towel was on the other side of the bathroom. While he was busy Rez took the opportunity to run out of the bathroom since the door was cracked open.

You were slightly startled when Rez came running out of the bathroom while completely wet and naked. Rez ran over to the bedroom door and realized that it was closed. Rez giggled as he ran around the room. You were about to get up when Regris came out of the bathroom with the towel.

"Y/n, have you seen- oh, there he is." Regris said, catching sight of Rez.

"He's right there." You said, playfully rolling your eyes.

Regris walked over to Rez, wrapped him in the towel and took him back to the bathroom. This time, he closed the bathroom door so that Rez wouldn't go running around naked again.

~ First Birthday cake mess ~

It was officially Rez' first birthday, so naturally you baked him a smash cake. After you and Regris gave him presents that were easy to open you took him to the kitchen where you set up a place to take pictures of him eating his first birthday cake. The cake was a one layered sugar free vanilla cake with light blue sugar free icing and a number one cake topper. Regris put Rez in front of the cake while you got the camera ready.

"Go on Rez, it's all yours." You cooed.

Rez looked down at the cake, grabbed a handful and put it in his mouth. You took the first picture, wondering what he was going to do. Rez smiled when he got the first taste of his cake and decided to dive in face first. You were a little surprised when Rez smashed his face in the cake, getting light blue icing and cake all over himself. Thankfully, he was only wearing a diaper and a party hat so that there were no clothes to get messy.

Regardless, you took more pictures as Rez ate his cake. When Rez sat up his face was full of cake. He giggled as he wiped the cake and icing off of his face off and ate it. Regris smiled as he watched his son messily eat the cake.

"He's going to need a bath after this." You deadpanned.

"Yes, he will. But one with lots of bubbles." Regris said, agreeing with you.

~ What do the animals say ~

One afternoon you, Regris and Rez were lounging around in the living room on the floor. Rez was sitting up and holding one of his favorite plushies while you and Regris sat in front of him.

"Rez, what does the kitty say?" You asked him.

"Meow." Rez replied, looking up at you.

"And what does the doggy say?" You asked him.

"Woof woof!" Rez said happily.

"And what does the lion say?" You asked.

"Wroawr!" Rez said, trying to say 'roar'.

"Rez, what does the yupper say?" Regris asked Rez, wanting to get in on the fun.

"Yup!" Rez said, giggling a little.

"And what does the yalmor say?" Regris asked, a huge smile on his face.

Rez gave Regris a puzzled look, not sure what a yalmor says. He didn't even know what a yalmor was. Regris' smile faded away, knowing that he chose a difficult animal.

"We'll work on it." Regris told Rez.

~ Too many bubbles ~

While you were busy downstairs Regris was upstairs giving Rez a bath, this time with the door closed. During the most recent trip to the space mall you both found a new brand of bubble bath mix for babies, so today Regris was trying it out. Unfortunately he accidentally poured too much in and before he knew it bubbles were everywhere. Rez was having the time of his life, but Regris yelped in surprise when the bubbles got too high. You heard a yelp and a bang, so you decided to see what was going on.

"What's going on in he- Oh my…" You said, opening the door and seeing all the bubbles.

"I can explain!" Regris said as he rushed into the bubbles to turn the water off.

"Can you now?" You asked skeptically.

"It was an accident!" Regris said, now standing up and covered in bubbles.

"I think we should stick to the other bubble bath." You told him.

"I think you're right." Regris said awkwardly.

As you and Regris were talking Rez was still having fun with his bath toys and the bubbles. You had to help Regris finish bathing Rez before you both figured out a way to get rid of all the bubbles.

~ Bedtime fun ~

As you brushed your teeth Regris was getting Rez ready for bed. However, Rez wasn't too sleepy and wanted to play. Regris was only able to get a clean diaper and pajama pants on Rez before he managed to escape his father's grip. Rez ran right out of the bedroom and into the hallway.

"Rez, come back here!" Regris said as he rushed out of the room.

You quickly finished brushing your teeth so that you could help your lover find your adorable son. Right as you were walking out of the bathroom you noticed a small moving lump under one of the many blankets on the bed. A few moments later, Regris walked back into the bedroom. You placed a finger over your lips and silently pointed to the lump on the bed that was now quietly giggling.

"Hmm, I wonder where Rez could be?" Regris asked out loud as he wandered around the room and looked under some of the furniture.

Rez peeked out from under the blanket and looked in Regris' direction. You crept over to the bed and grabbed the blanket, moving it out of the way.

"Here he is!" You said, pretending to be surprised.

"I was wondering where he was at." Regris said, pretending to not know where Rez was.

Rez laughed loudly as you and Regris joined him on the bed. Regris took the opportunity to put the pajama shirt on Rez while you went to go close the bedroom door.

~ A little artist and a big mess ~

While you were outside picking berries Regris decided that Rez was now old enough to finger paint. You both recently found some nontoxic finger paint at the space mall and decided to buy it. Once Rez was wearing a tiny smock, secured in his high chair with a blank piece of paper on the tray and plastic bowls of paint in front of him he just looked at it curiously.

"Go on Rez, paint." Regris encouraged him.

Rez dipped two of his fingers in the green paint and felt it. He put some on the paper, but then he decided that the rest of the kitchen needed a makeover. He dipped his fingers in the purple paint next and flung it at the nearest wall. Regris tried to stop him, but he kept dipping his fingers in the different paints and flung it all over. Regris ended up looking like a rainbow within only a few minutes.

"What's going on in here?!" You asked in shock as you entered the kitchen with a basket full of berries, seeing the mess that was happening.

"Y/n, I can explain!" Regris said, quickly turning to face you.

"Daddy pwetty!" Rez said happily.

"Yes, I see that." You said as you put the basket of berries on one of the counters.

"I'll clean up." Regris said as he went to go get some cleaning supplies.

"While you're doing that I'll clean our little artist up." You said, taking Rez, who was covered in paint too, out of his high chair and taking him upstairs to the bathroom.

Rez tried to paint you too, but he only managed to paint part of your face. You were thankful that he was wearing a smock, otherwise, his clothes would have been a mess.
