(Y/n) groaned in pain as she tossed and turned on her bed while trying to sleep, at the time she'd been sleeping and didn't realize her monthly guest stopped by for an early visit. When she couldn't take the pain anymore she woke up, wincing when pain shot through her abdomen like a bolt of lightning. It took (Y/n) a few seconds to realize that she had unexpectedly gotten her period, something she hadn't gotten since before she escaped the ship she had previously been held prisoner on. During her last period one of the guards was kind enough to give her wads of cloth to soak up the blood and a small dose of painkillers, unfortunately she wasn't prepared for her next period. Getting one's period while living anywhere near anyone could lead to some very embarrassing situations, especially when they didn't understand what a period was.

"Fuck!" (Y/n) muttered under her breath, wincing in pain as she sat up and got out of bed.

She wished that there was something to take her pain away, but the painkillers were all the way in the infirmary which was kind of far away. (Y/n) noticed that she accidentally bled a little on one of the blankets on her bed, so she took it off and put it down the laundry chute and hoped whoever saw it wouldn't panic when they saw blood. About a week or so passed since she woke up in the infirmary and thankfully someone found some casual clothes for her to wear; they were a little too big, but they were better than nothing. (Y/n) got dressed as quickly as she could, nearly crying out in pain each time she moved a certain way. Right as she left her habsuite to go eat breakfast with everyone else in the cafeteria Regris exited his own habsuite, although due to the pain (Y/n) barely noticed him.

"Good morning, (Y/n), how are- Wait, why do you smell like blood?!" Regris began to ask (Y/n) before he smelled blood coming from her and changed his question, immediately panicking because he didn't know why she smelled like blood.

(Y/n) tried to answer him before he could jump to conclusions, but he picked her up bridal style before she could say anything and started quickly walking straight to the infirmary. Regris tried his best not to walk too roughly in fear of jostling her too much, thinking that she somehow got injured and was going to bleed out if he didn't get her to Ulaz as soon as possible. As he quickly walked down the long hallway several other Blades moved out of the way when they saw Regris rushing (Y/n) to the infirmary, no one knew what was going on and they also thought the young woman had been injured. (Y/n) held onto Regris' shoulders and pressed herself against his chest, unable to say anything because of how bad her pain was; her cramps were more painful than usual, at least when they got to the infirmary Ulaz could give her something to lessen her pain. Regris practically skidded to a stop when he entered the infirmary and placed (Y/n) on the examination table, startling Ulaz in the process.

"Ulaz, someone has hurt (Y/n)! She's bleeding!" Regris announced frantically while standing next to the examination table, glancing down and nearly fainting when he saw a blood stain at the crotch of her pants; to him, it looked worse than it actually was.

"Where are you hurt?" Ulaz asked (Y/n) after he dropped what he'd previously been doing so that he could tend to her.

"My lower abdomen. I'm uh, I'm on my period." (Y/n) answered awkwardly, blushing a little when she told the good doctor what was ailing her.

"Ah, I see. Here, I was able to get some pads and tampons for you, just go in the back room. And take this, it should help you with the pain" Ulaz responded in realization before he went to get a bag with pads/tampons in it along with a small cup of liquid painkillers for her to drink; he'd done a little research about human women's anatomy and learned all about menstruation, luckily he was able to get ahold of pads and tampons before (Y/n) started her period.

"Thanks." (Y/n) shyly thanked Ulaz as he helped her get off of the examination table and gave her the items she needed before she hurried to the back room so that she could get a pad/tampon on/in and drink the clear light green liquid in the small cup.

Regris watched the entire interaction between Ulaz and (Y/n) which made him feel a little left out, how could Ulaz know about what his friend was going through before he did? Once she made it to the back room (Y/n) quickly pulled her pants and underwear down so she could wipe herself off with a clean cloth and dab her clothes dry before she put a pad/tampon on/in so that she wouldn't bleed everywhere. She put her bloodied clothes on before she drank the liquid painkiller Ulaz gave her, she couldn't help but wonder how he got pads/tampons so quickly. Almost instantly her cramps started getting a little less painful after she drank the herbal flavored painkiller, unfortunately (Y/n) still felt an uncomfortable sensation in her lower abdomen. Meanwhile, in the next room, Ulaz was telling Regris what a period was and why (Y/n) was having it so that she wouldn't have to deal with explaining it, he understood that it might make her feel uncomfortable, although nevertheless Regris was astounded that (Y/n) could survive bleeding for a few days every month.

"That green stuff worked, thank you. And thanks for the pads/tampons" (Y/n) thanked Ulaz when she walked out from the back room, placing the empty cup on the counter she passed by.

"You're welcome, just tell me when you run out of the menstrual products. I'll have a bottle of painkiller ready for you later so you can keep it in your bathroom along with a cup showing you how much to take." Ulaz replied when he and Regris looked at (Y/n), a slight smile on his face in hopes of making her feel less awkward.

"How are you not bleeding to death?!" Regris questioned in pure shock and disbelief, clearly still in shock after what Ulaz told him about her bleeding and experiencing other unpleasant symptoms every month.

"It's the most natural thing that human women go through." (Y/n) said as though nothing was wrong, shrugging a little despite still feeling pressure in her lower abdomen.

"I never knew that human women were so strong." Regris responded in awe, he already respected (Y/n) but he respected her even more after learning about what she could go through without bleeding out.

"I guess so..." You said awkwardly; he sounded genuinely in awe, but she couldn't help but feel embarrassed about the whole situation.

Regris offered to escort (Y/n) back to her habsuite and she accepted, thanking Ulaz again before they left; she took the bag of pads and tampons with her because she would need them. Ulaz smiled as he watched them leave, since (Y/n) had her period he figured that he needed to subtly let the others know about her condition so they knew not to make a big deal out of it. He already knew that Regris was already interested in (Y/n), even if it was in a 'friend' kind of way for the time being, although he'd been alive long enough to know when a friendship would eventually lead to two people falling in love with each other. Regris walked with (Y/n) to her habsuite and let her change her clothes before she hesitantly asked him to cuddle with her, the young male didn't understand why he suddenly felt so protective of her but he didn't mind cuddling with (Y/n) for a while. Just because her pain was mostly gone didn't mean that (Y/n) didn't feel emotional, she just really needed someone to cuddle with and Regris was the perfect person because she trusted him.
