Risa POV

Today is the first day of my second year at Kitagawa Daiichi. My younger brother Tobio starts junior high today. I'm so happy for him. We may not be besties, but we get along just fine. He plays volleyball like me and we're both setters. I love volleyball. Its amazing. The balls goes SWISH, BANG, BAM, and BOOM... well it's hard to explain. I also love music and art. I was in the art club last year. Maybe this year I'll do music. I play the violin, piano, ukulele, and flute. I can also sing.

I'm in my room. It has light blue walls and an off-white carpet. My room is normally a mess, but I wanted it to be clean to start the school year. I had laid my uniform out the night before and packed my stuff weeks ago.

I'm a little nervous. I have a friend, my bestie Maya, but she moved to America with her family. She's gorgeous and popular and has blond hair that falls to her waist, bright green eyes that always sparkle mischievously. She's tan and she's got amazing curves. I miss her so much. Sure we call and text all the time, but it's not the same. This year my friend list consists of my brother. I never needed to make other friends cause I had Maya. She was popular and that made me popular, it's hard to find true friends when everyone wants to know you and be with you. This year without her I wont be popular so maybe I have a better chance.

I woke up really early today so I could look good. I take a shower, letting the water calm my nerves. I have strawberry coconut shampoo and conditioner. I love strawberries. Their smell, taste, color, and everything about them. They are my all time favorite food.

Putting on my uniform, I try to decide what to do with my hair. My hair is very thick. It's a such a dark black that it looks almost blueish. It goes well with my dark blue eyes. Right now, its wet and tangled. Many styles pop into my head. Leave it down... no to messy. Bun... to uptight. Ponytail... getting better. Loose waterfall braids... PERFECT.

After doing my hair, I considered doing my makeup. I don't use it that often, so I'm not very good at it. I decide on some simple mascara and lip gloss that tastes like strawberries. I look in the mirror. Wow I look good, for once.

Checking the time I realize it's only 6 AM, maybe I woke up too early, I still have 2 hours until I need to leave. School is only a 10 minute walk away and classes start at 8:30. Sighing, I grab my laptop. I have time to watch some anime before I make breakfast for me and Toby.

After some Black Butler and fangirling over Sebastian, I get up and grab my backpack. Its blue like my room with a Totoro keychain on it. Checking to make sure I have all my stuff, I head to Toby's room.

"Knock, knock, knock..." No reply. "Tobio... you awake...I'm coming in." I enter Tobi's room. It's the same colors as my room, but his carpet is blue and his walls are white. It's also very plain. I look at his bed, its empty. Glancing at the floor I see why. He fell off. Giggling I take a few pictures then I skip over to him. "Tobi, today's the first day of school you don't wanna be late." I shake him gently. When he doesn't even move I sigh. "TOBI WAKE UP YOUR LATE AND NOW THE VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS ARE OVER!!!" That gets him up. He sits up eyes wide, stuttering, and then he looks at the clock. Realizing I'm lying he glares at me.

"Was that really necessary, Ri?" He's been calling me that since we were little. Apparently adding sa is too hard. I help him up.

"Yes it was. Now get ready. I'll make breakfast." With that, I turn and jump down the stairs into the living room. Turning left, I enter the kitchen.

Our kitchen is simple and neat. Its pale yellow walls make it cheery and bright. Grabbing the instant pancake mix, I get to work.

After making pancakes, I see Tobi come in. He heads to the fridge and gets the milk. He pours us each a glass as I plate the pancakes. After adding strawberries and syrup to mine I sit across from Tobi at the dining room table.

"You ready for your first day?", I ask him. He's stuffing his face, but he still responds.

"I'm excited for volleyball."

"That's right you suck at academics," I state. He glares at me but says nothing. We have a joke that since I was born first I got the brains, optimism, and the bronze while he got a pessimistic attitude and an exceptional amount of bronze.

We finish eating and I quickly wash the dishes. Tobi grabs the bentos I made the night before out of the fridge. He hands me mine and we put them in our bags. It's only 7:56, but we can still leave and just be there extra early. I gesture at the door.

"Ready?"

"Ya, let's go." We put on our shoes and head out. It's a nice morning. Clear skies, a bright sun low in the sky, birds calling to one another, and, other than Tobi and I, no other people.

As we get closer to the school, we start to see more students. Theyre chatting and laughing, having a good time. I glance at Tobi. He's glaring at a point in the distance. He seems deep in thought. I look forward again, but not in time. The most cliché thing happens, I walk into someone's chest. Before I fall, they catch me, keeping me in their chest. Judging by the way they feel, it must be a guy, and a fit one at that. Pushing myself off him, I quickly go into a 90 degree bow.

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking forward. I should have been. I'm so sorry. It's all my fault." I hear someone chuckling. Looking up, I see the hottest guy ever. He has perfect hair that impeccably matches his deep beautiful chocolate eyes. He's tall, fit, and amazing. Damn it. I had to run into an angel on my way to school. Way to go Risa. I realize I'm starting.

"Sorry," I say again. He hasn't said anything yet. He's looking at me, analyzing me. I feel small. I mean, I am at a meer 5'4". After an infinity, he still hasn't said anything. I start to walk off, realizing Toby had kept walking. I should probably catch up to him. As I'm about to leave the hot man behind he speaks.

"Oikawa Tōru," he says pointing to himself proudly.

"Hello. I'd like to stay and chat, but my brother abandoned me and I need to find him. Again, I'm so sorry Oikawa-senpai, I say, giving a quick bow, I scurry off, glad that I didn't stutter.

I search the hall trying to find Tobi in his classroom. He didn't even notice. He left me behind, that stinker. After making sure he's all settled, I head to my class, class 2-5, the highest class in my grade. I am pretty smart and I generally can get away with very little studying. Finding a seat in the back by the window, I take out my stuff and prepare for class

A/N Hey guys so this is the first chapter. I'm trying to make them detailed and later tons of time skips will take place. Also this story will start in middle school for like 3-5 chapters then a huge time skip will come.
