Chapter 6
I groaned, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. Two days had passed. No one was dead, to my surprise. I actually thought someone would get murdered. Monokuma got so bored that he made all the levels and Ultimate labs available. Said something about 'let our imaginations run wild' or something stupid like that.
Anyway, it was currently morning, and if it wasn't obvious, I'm just waking up.
"Another wonderful day..." I muttered bitterly. That was usually my greeting to myself. I quickly got ready and went to the dining hall, seeing everyone had gathered. It seems Tsumugi and Kaede were making nice talk with each other.
For the most part, Tsumugi has been very withdrawn from everyone, despite the fact she was forgiven. Only Kaede can really get close to her.
I put on a grin.
"Morning everyone!" I chirped, sitting myself at the table. Gonta have me a friendly smile.
"Good morning Kokichi!" He said. Seems out of everyone here, he's the one that is actually friendly to me. However it seems I still annoy everyone else. Course that makes sense, since I still tease, insult, and lie to everyone.
"Morning Gonta! Sleep well?" I asked.
"Yes, Gonta sleep very well." He said. He looked across the table, looking at Tsumugi.
"Tsumugi sleep well?" He asked. Tsumugi looked up at him, then quickly looked away. "Uh, yeah. I slept okay..." She said quietly.
"Nee-heehee, really? I didn't think a backstabber like you could sleep well with those sins on your shoulders." I said. This made the Ultimate Cosplayer look away in shame, a shadow casting over her eyes.
"Now was that really necessary?" Kirumi asked.
"Probably not." I replied. "I don't know what your deal is, man. There's no need for you to pick on everyone. Pisses me off." Kaito said.
"Awww weally? In that case, I apologize." I replied.
"Huh? For real?" Kaito asked.
"Of course not dumbass! I'm a liar, remember? Hasn't that sunk into your tiny little brain yet?" I said mockingly. Kaito stood up and growled.
"Why you little-"
"Kaito don't. He's not worth it." Shuichi said. Maki nodded in agreement. Kaito have me one more glare before sitting down. I chuckled at my victory.

I yawned, walking down the hallway. "Man I'm boooored!" I whined. I was currently wandering down the 2nd floor, bored out of my mind. What the hell can I do now? Before it was the class trials taking up my time.
"Everyone seems strangely happy after finding out their past and identities are fake." I thought aloud, placing my hand behind my neck.
I narrowed my eyes, my thoughts going back to something that has been bothering me for awhile.
".....my past is a lie too, right? D.I.C.E. doesn't really exist. Hell, my name might not even be-"
"Kokichi!" I snapped out of my thoughts, and whirled around. Guess who's following me....again.
"Gonta?" I turned to face him. He skidded to a stop in front of me....wearing a wide, hopeful expression.
"Gonta need Kokichi!" He said.
"Uh....what do you need?"
* * * *
Gonta hurried to the Ultimate Tennis Player's lab, and opened the door.
"Gonta found partner!"
Ryoma and Rantaro looked at us and blinked. I blinked back. I guess this would seem odd, seeing as Gonta is now carrying me under his arm. I held up a hand a waved.
"Yo."
"Gonta, why did you bring Kokichi here?" Ryoma asked, raising a brow. "Yeah, why did you bring me here?" I asked, crossing my arms.
Gonta gently put me on my feet. "Sorry, but Gonta want to play tennis with Rantaro and Ryoma. But Gonta need partner to play with. So Gonta thought Kokichi could be partner." He explained. Huh, he wants me as his partner? Why me though?
"Uh, are you sure you want him as your partner?" Rantaro asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry, who was the guy who saved your ass?" I asked. Ryoma narrowed his eyes as he adjusted his hat.
"Perhaps you did, but that wasn't your entire purpose right? Your true goal was to get to the mastermind." He said.
"Hey, don't make me sound so cold. You're just upset cause I called you 'a tiny elf' yesterday, right?" I said. "You did more than that." Ryoma said. I placed a finger on my chin.
"Really? What else did I do?" Rantaro sighed, placing his hands on his hips.
"You hung him on a piece of rubble sticking out of the wall, then left him hanging there." He said.
"Where's your proof?" I asked.
"I had to get him down." Rantaro stated. "Nee-heehee, oh yeah. I remember now~" I said.
"Please, no more fighting. Let's just play tennis, please?" Gonta asked. I smiled and grabbed a nearby racket. "Sure, I'm game." I chirped. I looked to Rantaro and Ryoma, wearing a wide smirk.
"Ryoma? Rantaro? You in?" I asked. Ryoma looked down, a shadow casting over his eyes. Then he gave a chuckle.
"You challenging me, kid? Hehe, alright then. I'll play your game. But I won't go easy." He stated. Rantaro chuckled, running his fingers through his hair.
"Guess it can't be helped...." He suddenly looked to me, a competitive gleam in his eyes. "I'll have to join too."
The four of us got into our positions; Rantaro and Ryoma on one side, with Gonta and me on the other side. Ryoma held the ball, looking to us.
"You boys know the rules?"
"Course we do! Who wouldn't?" I asked. "Uh, Gonta know enough. Should be fine." He said. Ryoma and Rantaro looked at each other, nodded, then looked back at us.
"Ready then? I'm gonna serve." Ryoma warned us. I twirled my racket, smirking.
"Bring it-"
I cannot describe the chills sent down my spine as I suddenly felt a whoosh of strong air smack the left side of my face, and a loud smacking sound behind me. Gonta yelped, almost dropping his racket.
"W-What the?!" He stuttered. I snapped my head behind me. Sure as hell, there lay the ball.
"That.....was soooo fucking close to hitting my face."
I slowly looked back at our opponents.....who now wore dark, scary expressions of competition.
"Told ya we wouldn't hold back." Ryoma said. I stared in shock, then chuckled. "Wow, not gonna lie, that scared me shitless. But I'm ready now." I stated.
"Gonta not ready!" Gonta cried. But it was too late. Ryoma already had the ball in his hands and served. I was ready this time though. The ball was about to shoot pass me, but I spun and smacked the ball with just as much force. This causes it to go flying over Ryoma's head, knocking over his hat, and giving us our point. Rantaro gasped.
"Whoa..." Gonta lit up.
"Ahhhh! Nice hit Kokichi!" He said. I blew on my racket, as if it was smoking, then stuck my tongue out mockingly.
"Had enough?" Ryoma didn't answer for a moment, and I was curious if I had pissed him off. However he bent down, picked up his hat, put it on....then he let out a hardly laugh. It surprised me. He's usually so depressed and negative. And here he is, laughing like he's having the time of his life.
"Had enough, you ask?! Oh no, kid," Ryoma looked back at me, new fierceness in his eyes, "I'm just getting started!!!"
I couldn't help but smile. "Yes! There's the burning soul of the Ultimate Tennis Player! Let's do this!" I stated. And so we played.
We played. And played. And played.
Rackets smacked balls. Points piled up for both sides. We screamed and sweated like true tennis players, the room filled with a burning atmosphere.
After who knows how many hours of playing, the four of us took a moment to pause, panting hard. We didn't keep our eyes off each other, grasping our rackets with sweaty palms.
I held the ball. Both teams were tied. If Gonta and I made this shot....we would win.
"Well? Gonna serve, kid?" Ryoma asked.
"Don't tell me you're scared to lose." Rantaro said. I smirked.
"Scared? Ha! You wish! However," I looked to Gonta, putting the ball in his hand, "I will let Gonta serve." I said. Gonta looked at me in shock.
"Huh?! Why Gonta?! Gonta never serve once!"
"I know, that's why I'm letting you. Give it a shot." I said. Gonta looked at the ball in his hands, his eyes hesitant. "But what if Gonta mess up?"
"Well you won't know till you try, will ya?" I said. Gonta looked at me surprised, but I gestured to our competition.
"Don't keep them waiting. Show them your strength." I said. Gonta looked at Rantaro and Ryoma, which looked more than ready. However, Gonta put on a determined look.
"Alright! Gonta try!" Suddenly he let out what could only be called a battle cry, his hair frizzing up, his eyes looking scary, and a red aura surrounding his body. Completely startled, I yelped and jumped back.
"Holy shit!!!" I said. Rantaro's face went pale.
"Oh boy...." He murmured. Gonta three the ball into the air.....and smacked it with his all his might. Ryoma and Rantaro didn't try to hit it, but rather tried to dodge the literal fireball that smacked against the court, then bounced way past them. Next thing I knew, there was a loud crash, and dust filled the air.
I coughed, waving my hand as I tried to breathe real air.
"Well, I certainly wasn't expecting that." I said. Finally the dust cleared.....the four of us gasped.
The entire wall had literally collasped, showing a classroom that was next door. "Whoa...." Ryoma said, followed by a whistle. Gonta, who was back to normal, stared in shock.
"D-Did Gonta d-do t-that?" He asked nervously.
"Yeah, you did....and totally won!" I stated. Gonta looked at me puzzled. "Huh? Gonta won?"
"Totally! That was totally our win, buddy! Right Rantaro? Ryoma?" I said. Both boys looked at us, then at each other.....then they chuckled.
"Yeah. You guys won. Nice job." Ryoma said.
"We won! We won!" Gonta smiled at me. "We won Kokichi! We make good team!" He said. I nodded.
"Yep! We sure do!" I stated. There was the sound of many footsteps from the hallway, and Kaito was the first to burst through the door.
"What the hell was that- whoa." He stopped dead when he saw the wall. One by one, each one of them came inside, having similar reactions.
"What. The fuck. Happened. Looks like a stampede of elephants came through here." Miu said.
"Nothing really, just a friendly game of tennis." I replied. "Do you really expect us to believe that, Kokichi?" Keebo asked.
"Uh, he's not lying." Rantaro admitted, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Outta the way! Move! Headmaster coming through!" Monokuma yelled as he squeezed through the crowd. When he saw the wall he gasped and squished his face with his paws.
" My wall! My beautiful wall! Nohohooo!" he whined dramatically, falling to his knees. "This'll take forever to repair!" He snapped a glare at us.
"Who did this?" Gonta smiled nervously.
"Gonta sorry. It was accident." Kirumi sighed, stepping forward.
"Well, perhaps now is a good time to announce that dinner is ready."
