ever since the encounter in levi's office, y/n kept their word. they left levi alone. they didn't even spare him a glance. the only times when they would talk or look his way were for expeditions and when the two passed each other in the corridors as it was mandatory to greet comrades.

levi enjoyed the peacefulness to an extent. he enjoyed not having y/n trailing behind him trying to make small talk.

but as time passed,

his office sounded too quiet.

his tea breaks in the dining hall sounded too quiet.

his right hand side when going on missions sounded too quiet.

his room sounded too quiet.

everything sounded too quiet.

he would unknowingly look at y/n hoping to catch them staring back at him but they never returned his stare.

he watched as they fell in love with another.
