Laurence's POV

This is...all too fast.

We never seen this coming.So many questions...

Why did Zane call us?

What's with the threats?

Is Garroth gonna be okay?

Can Aphmau cope up with all that's happening?

I suddenly felt a little dizzy but I just held it in.Now is not the time to be weak. I turned to face Aphmau comforting Garroth. Good thing she didn't freak out,that would be a big problem.

"I...think we should rest now guys. This is too much. We need rest."

Dante said. We all agreed. Garroth and Aphmau went back to their apartments while I stayed with them.

"Is Garroth gonna be okay?"

Aphmau asked as Garroth went inside his room. I made a half-smile and placed my hands in my pocket.

"Of course he is. If he's made it past that horrible memory he can make it past this one too."

Aphmau smiled and faced me. Her expression hard to explain. It had a mix of anger,sadness,relief, and concern.

"How could you...how could you know all this and still stay calm? I can't handle that kind of suffering or something like that"

I smirked and went outside to the balcony.

" In life, you must stay strong and keep moving on. You can't just make any kind of happening overtake you. It's win or lose. Your choice."

She looked down to the concrete floor as her long black hair flowed in the wind perfectly.

"Oh....well,you're pretty strong if you say that. Guess you've been through a lot huh?"

I looked into the beautiful night sky in awe of it's beauty.

"You can say that again. But I'm actually glad I've been through a lot of suffering."

"Why is that?"

She asked gesturing her hands. Her face confused by what I said.

"Aren't you even tired about the pain you endured?"

I just let out a small laugh and face her.

"Without those, I'm not the Laurence you see right now. You know what,our pasts are what shaped us into who we are. We can't change it. We just have to keep moving forward,never look back."

We had a moment of silence until I heard a sob coming from my side.

"Aphmau?"

I asked, coming near her. She faced me, her brown orbs filled with sympathy. I cupped her cheek with my right hand and wiped away her tears.

"Why the flip are you crying?"

I asked with a small laugh. She smiled at me and wiped some of the falling tears.

"I just....I'm just happy that you're such a great person."

"Aphmau you are too"

I said,smiling.

"Not really. I'm a selfish person."

I furrowed my eyebrows at what she said.

"What do you mean Aphmau?"

She went silent for a while then bursted crying.

"I...I broke your heart into a million pieces without even thinking about what you're gonna feel!"

She exclaimed. She kept on crying and wiping her endless flow of tears. I just stood there not knowing what to do.

What should I do? I'm not a girl!

"I'm such a h-horrible p-person! I'm s-sorry Laurence! I'm so s-s-sorry!"

She exclaimed between sobs,still wiping her tears from their endless flow.

Ba-dump....

Wait...was that....my heart?

On instinct I grabbed her and wrapped her in my arms. She must've been surprised since she gasped at first but then sobbed into my shirt.

"Shut up. You're starting to speak nonsense."

I said in a low voice. She faced me and hugged me back.

"Jerk!"

She said while punching me on the arm.

Ba-dump

There it goes again...could this be..

"Hehehe...seriously though,you're not a horrible person Aphmau. I'm glad I met you."

"But why? Why still say that even if I hurt you all over again?"

I stroked her long black hair and closed my eyes,smiling.

"You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. You gave color to my world..."

Could this be....

I can't hide this any longer.

"Aphmau....I..."

No...I can't. I let go of her as she wiped off the last of her tears with her hand.

"Thank you Laurence...you're such a great person. Thank you for comforting me, for being there when I need you."

"It's really nothing. I-"

Suddenly she hugged me. Right there right now...I realized..

I still love her.

"Thank you Laurence!"

I stood there frozen. This was so sudden. She let go and smiled at me.

"N-no problem A-Aphmau. We should go rest"

I said,avoiding her gaze. She nodded and started to walk away.

"Oh and Laurence"

She said,stopping in her tracks.

"Hm?"

I replied looking over my shoulder.

"I'm glad I met you too. Goodnight"

And with that said, she disappeared from my sight. I faced the night sky above and breathed a sigh of relief.

She really still has my heart...
