-Natsu's POV-

"Welcome to the annual Grand Magjc Games. I will be your announcer. I am James Berry."

Thank goodness he came. I was about to see my girlfriend and the girl of my dreams fight. I know I should only think about Lissana but remember the whole in my heart that was Lucy. It was healing until today.

"All 150 teams of you are about to be transported to the middle of a maze. You will need to find the exit. Only 8 of the 150 teams will be able to participate in the actual games for the grand prize of 30 million jewels."

Wow 30 million jewels!! I thought it was only 3 million. This should be worth winning.

"Your task starts now."

Suddenly me and my team were in the middle of hedges. This is going to take a while.

-Lucy's POV-

Really in the middle of thick forestry? man this is going to be a pain in the...

"Layla were you listening?"

I turned to see Sting. "Um yeah sure"

"Then what did we say"

"That since we all have are high sensitive smelling we should each be in charge of paying attention to things like monsters, other people, the exit, etc."

"Wow Layla-chan. you really were paying attention."

I smiled at her. She has grown beautifully.

" Okay. Tina you'll be in charge of other teams. Rouge and Sting you'll be in charge of monsters. Gageel you of any metal and I'll help you."

"Who put you in charge Blondie" retorted Sting.

"Are you going to do what I say or am I going to have to teach to not question my authority again."

He shivered at the thought. Ok let's get going.

--About twenty minutes later--

"Hey lulu." Gageel spoke.

"Yeah"

"That looks like an exit"

I turned to see a big door with the words 'congratulations' on top of them.

"Yey!! finally!!" When we went through the doors we were back at the arena. We were the only ones there.

"Congratulations Sabertooth team A for getting through the maze and being the first ones!!" James Berry congratulated us.

We all sighed in relief. We were them told to head to our inns. We would start the actual grand magic games in three days.

-Natsu's POV-

"Ugh Lissana. Are you sure it's the right way. I think you've been leading us in circles."

"No Natsu-kun. I know it's this way. "

After walking five more minutes, Gray spoke up. "Let me lead for a little while."

After not even three minutes we saw a door with big words above ten that said 'congratulations'.

When we got through we saw no one there. Could we have been the first ones?

"Congratulations team Fairy tail A"

"Are we the first ones?". Asked Lissana

"Nope your eight. You barely made it."

All our jaws dropped. Really? barely? of it wasn't for Lissana we would of most likely already have been out a long time ago and not have been lost. If Lucy was on our team, I'm pretty sure that we would have made it out earlier.

"Well you can all head to your inn and enjoy three days before we begin the actual grand magic games!!"

We all grade to our inn in silence. These preliminaries didn't go as planned. Hopefully the actual games come out better.
