Sun

"Mook!"

Gang Ho and Dante stumbled over each other to reach their brother. Their mother stood there, frozen in fear as her son fell towards the waves. Mook prepared himself for the water to engulf him, but it never did. That's when he realized someone was holding onto him. Looking up, he could barely make out the outline of a person as he squinted to avoid getting the sun in his eyes. He tightened his grip on the person's wrists as they hoisted him up.

Gang Ho and Dante engulfed their brother into a bone crushing hug. His mother sighed in relief before joining the hug. After they calmed down, Ms. Lee hurried to thank her son's savior. As she was thanking the savior, the stranger giggled and stopped her.

"There's no need to thank me at all. Think of it as returning the favor. Isn't that right, Mook?"

Mook tore away from his brothers and peered at the stranger. He felt his heart stop as soon as his eyes adjusted properly.

She was a short woman, not much taller than his mother. She had her hair in a high ponytail, her long, brown hair swaying behind her. Her hazel eyes, glittered with golden specks, stared down at him lovingly. Her strawberry pink lips parted to make a sweet smile, only for him. She was wearing a coat, but he could see scrubs under them. His voice croaked as he called out to her.

"Aru..."

Aru's smile grew bigger as he said her name.

"It's nice to know you remember me! It would have been embarrassing if I had tried to have a conversation with you and you didn't recall who I was. Can you imagine? It woul-"

The rambling woman was interrupted when she was pulled into a tight hug. Mook embraced her as if his life depended on it. In a way, it kind of did. Aru stiffened our of shock, but soon loosened up when she heard Mook quietly weep. Smiling slightly, she wrapped her arms around him as he shook and shrunk in her embrace.

"It's so good to see you again, Mook."

They both sunk to the ground and held onto each other. Mook clung to her like she was a lifeline, burying his face in her bosom. Aru held him in a comforting embrace, soothing him best she could. Gang Ho, Dante, and Ms. Lee just watched in silence as Aru comforted Mook, who was shaking as he cried, repeating her name over and over again.

"Aru......Aru......Aru......"

"Yes Mook, it's me. Don't worry, I'm right here."
