Seat Saver
Aru was nervous for her first day of classes at Reincarnation University. As she decided on taking her Polaroid, she made a mental note to remind herself to thank Sua for waking her up on time. If it were not for her, Aru would probably still be cuddled up in her blanket in bed. She had almost overslept due to her anxiety the night before preventing her from sleeping early. As she was nearly tumbling down the stairs, she had managed to miraculously meet up with her three roommates in front of the dormitories. After the small girl quickly apologized and thanked Sua, the four girls made their way to their first class of the day. It had surprised them to find out that the four all had history at 9 AM together. As the girls walked in to find a seat, Aru's eyes spotted a familiar face sitting in the last seat at the top row.
Mook was sitting in the back row of the classroom. He was concentrating on a paper in his hands. Aru mentally complained to herself as she saw the amount of steps on the stairs she was about to make herself climb. Replacing the comments with words of encouragement, she began climbing the steps. When she had finally reached the top row, she bent over to catch her breath. Once she stabilized her breathing and heart rate, she stood up and walked over to Mook. He still had not noticed her, much to her surprise. Shrugging it off, Aru set her bag by the seat next to Mook. As she sat down and plopped her head on the desk, she saw Mook tense up next to her. She turned her head slightly so that she could look at him. He slowly looked over to her, eyes widening once he realized that is was Aru. He physically relaxed as she smiled at him. He turned to face her all the way, giving her a small smile.
"Good morning Aru."
"Good morning Mook, how are you?"
Aru smiled and gave a small giggle as he stuttered how he was doing fine. It was obvious that conversations like this were foreign for him. After small talk, the teacher had walked into the class, smiling at all the students. For a second, the teacher had looked back and forth between Mook and Aru, raising as eyebrow. Aru just shrugged it off, thinking that it was just his way on questioning why they were the only two on the top row. Aru began to get ready to take notes, an image of her mother scolding her about not paying attention in class. Not wanting to get smacked by her mother after her first day of classes, she tried her best to stay concentrated on whatever the teacher had been talking about.
Mook and Aru both took notes best they could, but they would occasionally glance at each other, sharing small smiles of support. They were both equally nervous, Aru showing it as Mook kept it in. When the two had finished notes, they both walked out to a table as they waited for their next class to start. They shared small talk until Mook suggested that they share and compare notes. After thirty minutes of the two writing down notes that they had personally missed, they stood up and prepared for their next class. Mook offered to walk Aru to her next class, to which she agreed to. They walked in silence, occasional jokes being whispered to one another to try and make the other laugh. When they finally reached the photography room, Aru waved goodbye as Mook made his way to his class.
Aru sat down near the entrance, stretching away the remaining tired feeling from her bones. She jumped as two guys sat on each side of her. Peering to her left, she saw a boy in an orange sweatshirt who was taking pictures of himself. Her eyes widened as she realized who she was sitting next to. She took this time to look over at the other guy to her right. He had a good build and a stern face. By the way he sat and the look in his eyes, he didn't want to be there. He seemed to have taken the class to just get his fine arts out of the way. He looked over at Aru, making her jump. He closed his eyes momentarily and nodded before sticking his hand out to her.
"Hello, it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Gang Ho, a college freshman"
Aru relaxed as she realized that he was just deciding on whether or not he should greet her. Smiling, she put her hand in his. As they shook hands, she introduced herself.
"It's very nice to meet you Gang Ho~ My name is Aru Kim. I am also a college freshman."
"I hope that we can get along well Miss Kim."
"Oh please, call me Aru~!"
The two exchanged smiles as the teacher walked in. They both faced the front, getting ready for photography.

Gang Ho was taller than Aru had originally thought. He towered over her as if it were nothing! He was twice her size! He shared his interests with her as they walked through the campus. When they walked into English, Aru immediately ran up the stairs. Gang Ho watched with amusement her as she tried to not get so tired so easily. He physically tensed up, however, when he noticed that she had sat down next the only other person on the top row. It was a boy who looked as if he didn't care for others. To Gang Ho, he looked as if he didn't want to be there or have anyone near him. Then he noticed the boy's horns. His eyes widened as he saw the shape of his horns.
He was a sea serpent.
Flashbacks of his father's sermons on sea serpents quickly went through his head. Glaring at the boy sitting next to his new companion, Gang Ho marched up the steps to the top row. He sat himself on the other side of Aru. He was not going to let this boy hurt his oblivious friend. He had just met her, but he felt as if they were like family for years. It may have been a part of her charisma, but he felt as if she were his younger sister that he needed to protect. He kept an eye on the sea serpent as class began. He wasn't going to let anything happen to Aru.

Aru happily strolled out of the class. Mook and Gang Ho were following behind her. Mook tried to ignore Gang Ho and his glares. Gang Ho took this as a challenge to him. Aru reached into her bag and she felt her Polaroid. Smiling, she pulled it out and turned around.
Gang Ho immediately pretended that he wasn't glaring at Mook. Mook let out a sigh of relief and looked at the camera with curiosity. Aru smiled at the two boy and held the camera out to Gang Ho, who took it with interest. He had never seen an instant camera in person.
"Could you please take a picture of me and Mook? And then Mook can take a picture of the two of us!"
Gang Ho shot Mook a quick look before nodding. He readied the camera and Aru and Mook got ready for their picture. Mook was obviously blushing as Aru half hugged him for the picture. He leaned closer to her so that she wouldn't be on her toes. Gang Ho took two pictures before setting the camera down. He gave one to Aru while smiling. He then gave Mook a look as he handed him the second picture. Mook sighed and looked down at the small rectangle in his hands. At first, he didn't see anything. Then he began to see figures form. Then he saw the finishing product.
Aru has happily holding on to him with the biggest and brightest smile. Her eyes shines and she radiates happiness. Then, there was him. Mook almost didn't believe it, he didn't even feel himself do it. In the picture, he had one hand on hers. His other hand held her close by the waist. His eyes actually shined. He was smiling. He let out a gasp, realizing that the only other picture where he looked like that was the picture of him with his mother. He was snapped out of his thoughts once Gang Ho handed him the camera. Clearing his throat, he put the pictures in his pocket and examined the camera. He readied the camera and found the button that he saw Gang Ho press and waited.
Aru was smiling with her hands behind her back. Gang Ho stood behind her, resting his arms on her head. Mook took the picture twice and handed them their pictures. He put the camera back in Aru's bag. Both boys then looked at Aru. She had a shimmer gel pen and was writing on the white frame of the pictures. She wrote down the date and a little note that the boys couldn't really read. She checked the time and exclaimed that she was about to be late. Flinging her backpack on, she began running down the hall with the two boys following close behind.
