Kim Cafe

Aru internally cheered as she strolled out of her math class. This had been her last class of the day, and she couldn't have been more thankful for it to be over. She triple checked her bag to make sure everything was in there. After confirming everything, she flung her backpack on and headed down the stairs. Shielding her eyes from the sun's rays, Aru walked out into the courtyard. Students of every kind filled the open area. Aru was amazed that so many different people were in one place. Smiling, she walked down the sidewalk towards the fountain at the center. She blushed as her stomach growling, reminding her of her lack of snacks. Letting out a tired breath, she wondered if Mook would want to go up to their rooftop hideout to snack on things and talk about their first day.  Aru was snapped out of her thoughts when a hand patted her head. She quickly turned to see the culprit.

Gang Ho was looking down at her with an amused expression. she squealed as he rubbed her hair, messing it up. He seemed to be in a very good mood. It changed, however, when Mook showed up. Mook peered at Aru for a second before reaching over and fixing her hair. He also tried his best to avoid Gang Ho's killer glare. Aru, as oblivious as ever, greeted both boys with a big, warm smile. Mook smiled kindly at her, giving her a slight wave. Gang Ho tried not to show his distrust in the white haired boy by smiling at Aru. Mook cleared his throat and spoke up.

"Hey Aru, I'm kinda hungry. Would you like to go and eat some snacks?"

Aru smiled and nodded happily at her friend. Before the two could head off, however, Gang Ho spoke up.

"You two don't mind if I join, right?"

Aru and Mook shared a glance that Gang Ho didn't notice. They both knew what the other was thinking. The two were going to go keep each other company on the rooftop hideout while they snacked and make more renovations to it. It was going to be a space for only Mook and Aru, no one else. This meant that no one else, not even Gang Ho was to know about this. Aru gave Mook a look, one that asked him to trust her. He gave her a slight nod, believing that she wouldn't give away their place. Aru turned to Gang Ho with a big smile and nodded.

"Sure~! We don't mind!"

Gang Ho smiled triumphantly as Aru winked at a confused Mook. Both boys followed the petite girl as she walked down the sidewalk. She recalled her last visit at her mother's place. It had been the day before. Her mother was very excited to show Aru around, so she physically dragged Aru off campus. Aru smiled and nodded to herself. She decided that this would be the best backup option for them at the moment. Aru just prayed that Hyun wouldn't be home when she got there. She had barely survived her first day of class, so she didn't feel like having an endless debate with her brother about whether or not she could have guys and friends. She saw Mook tense up as they approached the building with their hideout, but relaxed when they walked right by it. Gang Ho just looked at him in confusion.

Both boys protectively got closer to Aru as she neared the street. As she was about to step on the street, they both held on to her. She looked at them in confusion before pulling away.

"What is it? The sign says we can cross."

Both boys blinked a few times at the sign that signaled crossing in amazement before snapping out of it and following Aru as she began crossing the street. When they reached the other side, the boys turned to see the walking sign turn into a red hand motioning for them to stop. All of a sudden, the vehicles sprung back to like. Both boys shook their heads and continued to follow Aru down the sidewalk. They entered the boardwalk and gaped. Neither of the boys had ever went this far from campus since they got to the university. They didn't know where Aru was taking them, but they were too caught up in their thoughts to care. It wasn't until she stopped in front of a cafe with an apartment on the top floors that they paid attention.

They followed her inside as she strolled right in. When they were about to question her about where they were, an older woman appeared from behind the counter. She kept a stoic expression until her eyes landed on Aru. Letting out a squeal of happiness, she raced from behind the counter and engulfed Aru into a bone crushing hug. Gang Ho and Mook were about to pry her off of their small friend, but quickly threw out the thought once they heard the woman speak.

"There's my precious daughter! How was your first day?! Did you take plenty of notes??? Do you eat lunch? Ayah! You look hungry!!!"

The eyes of both Mook and Gang Ho quickly widened as they both fixed their posture and put on polite faces. Aru smiled and gently separated herself from her mother's arms.

"Mom, one question at a time please. Oh! Speaking of food, my friends and I actually came to get something to eat!"

Aru's mother peered behind her daughter, finally noticing the two nervous boys. She slowly let go of her daughter and walked over to the boys. Stopping in front of them, she eyed the both of them closely. Gang Ho was the first to speak out, bowing to the elder woman to show respect.

"It's a pleasure meet you Ma'am! My name is Gang Ho, a college freshman."

She didn't change her expression, but she nodded to show that she acknowledged him. Mook was the next to how and timidly introduce himself.

"My name is Mook Lee, Ma'am. It's a pleasure to finally meet Aru's mother."

Mrs. Kim's eyes softened as she heard Mook introduce herself. However, no one but Aru noticed this. Giving her warmest smile, Mrs. Kim responded.

"Oh please, call me Mrs. Kim~! It's a pleasure to meet Aru's friends! Oh! Please sit as I bring you kids some snacks~!"

As her mom hurried to the back, Aru let out a soft laugh and looked at her two friends, both looking as if they faced a boss in a video game. As she sat them down at a table, the boys studied the cafe's interior as they waited for their snack. Liking the peaceful soft colors and the comfortable seats, both boys nodded in satisfaction. They complimented the place to Aru's mom when she came back with snacks. Suddenly, the door opened and Aru groaned.

Hyun was back.
