Enter: Mook Lee

"Don't stop me nooooow~ because I'm HAVING a GOOD time!"

A young man groaned and sat up, popping his back as he grimaced at the black haired teacher's attempt at singing. Frowning, he got up to go to the bathroom. If every morning starts like this, he's unsure on how he's going to keep his sanity. This boy questioning his future at this school was none other than Mook Lee, a young man from a place no one knew. The village that he came from wasn't exactly up to date socially or technologically, so he wasn't sure how to react to the other youth he would potentially meet. Because of this, Mook was both relieved and disappointed in having to dorm in with a teacher, a strange one as well. When the receptionist had first assigned him this room, he felt glum. Was he really the only sea serpent here? Or was it that they had no more room for one? Were there others?

"Mook! Breakfast is ready!"

Quickly combing his fingers through his hair, he put on his preferred sweater vest and headed out into the kitchen. Sitting down, he couldn't help but sigh. This isn't at all what he and his mother talked about when they got the letter that he had been accepted into a school in a city. He remembered her cheerful smile and her excited tone of voice. He was soon snapped out of his thoughts, however, when the dark haired teacher placed a pan on the table. The smell was revolting! It was obvious that this teacher couldn't cook to save his own life! Mook took the safe route, going for the cereal instead.

He prayed to find a roommate soon. Maybe that would be today. Mook shivered as the teacher ran to the bathroom to puke out his attempt at breakfast.
'I pray that I'll find one today. Heaven knows I need one now.'

Grabbing his bag, he decided to head out to the freshman orientation and welcome party as soon as possible. He put on his jacket that held the usual fire emblem on it. With a quick and polite bow, he was out of the door and into the hallway. He quietly bowed to passing teachers and walked out of the building.

It was a quiet morning. The sun had risen not too long ago, perhaps an hour. It was mornings like these that reminded Mook that there was peace in the world. He sighed as he made his way through the crowd of upperclassmen, occasionally looking down at the map of the campus. When he had finally reached his destination, he found the entrance to be extremely crowded as well. Booths for extra credit and clubs were set up in the entrance for the freshmen to look at. Mook didn't understand why one would need to join a club in a university when they could be studying, so he strolled right through the gates of freshmen orientation. Ignoring the huddles of newly formed groupies and friendships, he made his way to his seat. As he sat and waited, he read the names in the seats around him with boredom.

Mook was staring at the ceiling's interesting design when the other freshmen began to enter the room. As those around him settled in their seats, he fixed his posture and looked forward, igniting those around him. That's when he noticed her. Well, the back of her head. He couldn't really see her face, but he heard her laugh. It was an innocent and sweet laugh. Something felt comforting about the laugh, but he was unsure about what it was.

A quick mic check and annoyed grunt quickly diverted his gaze from the petite giggle machine that only sat two rows ahead of him. Pushing her laugh to the back of his mind, he concentrated on the rules and instructions that were said amongst him and his incoming class. The only time he stopped to peek ahead at the girl was when the rules for sharing student dorms came. Since they did not apply to him, he figured he could attempt to see what the girl looked like. He was making out her features when, all of a sudden, a gust of wind blew. It startled everyone a bit, but they soon quieted down. Mook felt an unfamiliar object in his lap, so he picked it up and examined it. It was a blue flame hair clip. Looking around in an attempt to find its owner, he noticed the bubbly girl from before. She held a section of her hair and looked around at the ground, looking for something. He carefully made out the words 'hair clip' before she turned back around, anxiously peering around her occasionally. Holding onto the clip, he stuck it into his pocket and waiting for the orientation to be done.

Mook couldn't find her. The mysterious girl that was looking for her hair clip had vanished somewhere out of his sight. Then again, he probably couldn't spot her because of her height. Sighing, he took a peaceful walk to his room at the staff dormitories. Ignoring the questions as to why he wasn't at the freshmen's welcome party, he trudged into the room and closed the door. The teacher in which he shared the room with had gone to a meeting with the director. This meant that Mook was alone for who knows how long. This didn't bother him at all. Content with the peace, he went to his room and threw his stuff in the cramped place. He slowly began his process for bed.

After eating dinner, he had written a letter to his mother. He was describing everything from the skies, to the mysterious girl's laugh. Content with his letter, he signed it and sent it off. He cleaned his dishes and headed off to bed. Laying in his bed, he couldn't help but allow his eyes to wander over the hair clip on his dresser. A replay of her laugh played in his mind as he snuggled under the blanket. That's when it hit him.

Her laugh reminded him of home.
