It was in that moment that I realised I loved her more then anything, the moment where I silently begged God to take me if it meant she was skipping beautifully.

I took a deep breath and blocked my vision along side my mind. I grabbed her hand tighter with both of my own and pulled her up, little by little.

It felt like Ella was finally trying, she didn't fight me or release herself, she let loose.

I pulled with sweat and tears, unable to notice if it somewhat rained on me.

The second Ella's upper body was almost over the edge, I grabbed her beneath her arm, around her chest and pulled her up completely.
She fell against my chest as I fell back against the concrete.

I laughed, a laugh of somewhat pain and fear.
Hugging her tight, I gasped and kissed the exposed top of her head.

"God, thank you" I whispered, hugging her tighter.

Once the entrance door broke open and numerous police men rushed through, I sat up with Ella still in my arms.
An officer approached, attempting to help Ella stand before taking her downstairs.

Ella grabbed my shirt by the collar within the palm of her hands and never looked up at me, instead she placed her head against my chest as we remained seated on the ground.

I held up my hand, indicating to the officer so he doesn't try to get near her and that I had this under control, nodding I mouthed "I got her,"

The officers were worried but eventually left us on the rooftop, alone with the sky finally coming to light and the breeze finally easing.

I kept Ella in my arms, no words given or taken, just holding her tight as she rested against my chest on the cold ground.

I wanted to speak, I wanted to come to my senses and know this isn't a nightmare but reality.

Though I couldn't, I just held her tight and breathed in her scent, listened to her breathing and watched her chest puff to its rhythm.

The sun was finally appearing, soothing the sky to a bright orange, red and yellow before completely exposing us to it's normal blue state.

Birds chipped and insects rattled, I wasn't aware how long we remained in this position but I wanted it forever.

Ella finally moved away from my chest and wiggled lightly out of my arms, but still within my eyes.

She looked deep into my eyes as I gulped, scanning her red and swollen eyes that somehow remained beautiful. I watched as she liked her bottom lips and looked down at herself, rubbing her stomach before looking back up at me.

"I'm sorry" she whispered to peacefully that I could've missed it.

I shook my head, "It's okay" I lied, "We all give up eventually"

Ella gulped and attempted to stand before I helped her up beside me.
I grabbed my phone and took a few steps ahead of her, with intentions to call Nicolas.

Ella grabbed my hands, her little fingers wrapping so tightly around my hand. "Don't leave"

"I-"

"Please" she held tightly.

I nodded, even thought I wasn't going anywhere for the world, and moved back towards her before making our way down and out of the building.

Eyes watched us and chatting echoed, Ella asked me to take her away from here and I did just that.

Meanwhile as I drove, I couldn't get the scenes out of my head. I couldn't get Ella's body hanging off the edge of the building out of my head. Eventually tensing me up and playing tricks on my mind that I could've lost her for real.

Ella curled up in the seat beside me as I drove back to her place.

Once we arrived I rushed over to her and held her against me as I walked her back up to her penthouse.

When the elevator doors opened and Ella weakly walked over to her penthouse leaning against me, her entrance door opened.

We froze in the hallway halfway, as we watched two men walk out followed by Jack.

Ella grabbed my shirt once more and tensed up beside me.

I frowned and looked at Jack as he stood beside two black suited men.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, keeping Ella within my arms.

"Waiting for you the hero of our life to save your suicidal girl and come home"

I took a step in attempt to approach Jack and attack him but Ella pulled me and I moved back, carefully remembering she is weakly standing with my support.

"Get out" I groaned.

"Hand her over"

"Or what?" I laughed "You're trying to give me orders forgetting your just her friend"

"Exactly" Jack smirked "I'm giving you an order" he took a step towards us "Except not as a friend, as an enemy"

I frowned.
"Get out of my way" I walked towards him with Ella by me.

"Josh" Ella looked up, holding my hand once more "Lets go" she whispered.

"It's okay" I looked down at her.

"Please"

Something was wrong, something wasn't right and I had no idea what or why this was happening but I didn't want to pressure Ella after what happened.

"Okay" I nodded, turning around.

"Not so fast" Jack's voice beamed behind.

I turned back around and Jack held a gun within his hands.

I frowned harder and shook my head. "Dude, fuck off"

Beside him appeared Sylvester.
Ella looked up and gasped "Seal?"

What the fuck is going on.

"Josh...Ella" Sylvester smiled. "Meet Jack, my man"

Ella and I looked lost for a second before Sylvester continued speaking.

"It has come to my knowledge that my business partner has an affair with one of my employees" he smirked, gawking at me and Ella "It also appears that it's distracting and failing most of my work"

"What are you talking about, Sylvester" I blankly said, unsure if it was a question or just a sarcastic remark as Ella didn't know Sylvester as I do, except he is her boss at the 'innocent company'.

"Your relationship is keeping you distracted and away from your job" He walked towards us "Thanks to Jack who spoke to me about this, I noticed he was right and we lost a lot of profit while you were chasing my employee"

"Jack works for you?" I asked.

"Always has, you can place him under the undercover section" he chuckled, standing just a few steps away. "But now since this affair has gone to another level of serious I'm afraid to say, I must take action"

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

"Choose, Josh" Sylvester grabbed a cigar out of his suit pocket followed by a lighter. "Your job or her"

I laughed and shook my head "You're going to offer me my own business?"

"Choose"

"Don't be stupid Sylvester" I continued shaking my head "You can't make me choose a business I own 50% of"

"That's right" Sylvester nodded, smoking. "That's why you're going to sell it to me"

I continued laughing and turning away. "Don't be as stupid as your man" I looked over at Jack "We'll speak another time" I tried to walk away with Ella.

"Josh" Sylvester called.

I turned around once more and sighed. Sylvester had six men appear behind him, all carrying weapons and watching us like hawks.

"This isn't up to debate"

"I'm not choosing between my own fucking business and a woman!" I yelled, letting go of Ella and taking a few steps towards Sylvester.

Sylvester held up a finger and all his men aimed their weapons at Ella and I.

I frowned "Are you fucking serious right now?" I licked my bottom lip "We're business partners!" I yelled at him.

Sylvester shrugged.

"Don't declare war" I hissed.

"That won't happen because you won't get out of that door unless what I want happens"

I chuckled, "Let's go Ella" I turned back and grabbed Ella.

A continuous beep echoed my ears when a bullet passed me and hit the flower pot by the elevator.
I turned to face Sylvester and gasped as I held Ella's hand.

"Josh, Josh" Ella held my hand extremely tight. "Please just choose your business" she whispered.

"No" I groaned, "THAT'S MY SWEAT AND TEARS, MY BLOOD AND MY BUSINESS" I yelled towards Sylvester.

"Choose"

"Or what?!" I was eventually fuming and ready to attack.

"If you choose the business, she leaves...New York completely. If you choose her, your out and everything you own is mine"

I shook my head "Quite fucking around Sylvester"

Once again, I tried to leave the hallway but Sylvester yelled out once more, "Take one more step and she dies"

I grabbed Ella and pushed her behind me as I faced Sylvester. "Did you just threaten me?"

"No" Sylvester smiled.

"Take it" I took a step towards him, keeping Ella behind me "The business is yours, my girl stays"

Sylvester chuckled and shook his head. "Weak men like you have no right to be here"

"I chose"

"You chose wrong" He smirked.

"What does that mean?"

"That means that was a test run, the real debate is...she leaves New York or simply...dies"

I frowned once more and took a deep breath to control my anger "What is your problem with her?!" I groaned.

"My problem isn't her"

"Then what?!" I held Ella behind me, making sure no guns were aiming at her.

"It's the devil that grows inside of her"

Sylvester is scared Josh's son/daughter to be will come to the world and take over everything!!!! AND JOSH WOULD GIVE SYLVESTER UP TO THE POLICE TO KEEP HIS CHILD SAFE!!!

Once again I apologise for the late update, some of you are aware the book went missing and I contacted wattpad and found out it was from their end, I had a heartattack!!!!!! but it's back & it's ending. 1 or 2 chapters left and they will be published by the 8/8/18 !!!!

Also, Temptations has a new structure, a new plot, I wasn't happy with the blind date scene I want it to be more intense.
Temptations will be a R rated 17+ book, carrying the same sexual theme except it wont be like Shelter/Refuge with an abusing man and etc but it will contain mature scenes.
