Eleven

On a Saturday morning, five months since she last saw her stalker, Mark and Alex sat in the corner of the café they often visited after school. It was seen as a place for them, along with Lori, Jackson and BamBam, to de-stress after a long, irritating day of school. But it also seemed to double as the perfect hideout to sort Alex's strange memories out.

"So, we have a W, an H, a five and now we have a J. Anything I missed?" Mark asked, glancing at the girl who just simply stared at the serviettes he was writing on.

"Eunbyul and the Fifth Prince," she responded with a slight shrug.

"Right. Five is obviously for Fifth Prince. Meaning whoever this person is, he plays a big part in your memory. Can you try thinking of anything?"

"I've tried and nothing came up. Doesn't help that all the memories just stopped."

That's right, in the past five months everything went back to the way it had used to be for Alex but she still couldn't get her mind off any of it.

"It's alright. We can still patch things up with these clues. Let me think, what names start with a J, huh? James, John, Jeremy, Joseph, Jack... Any of these ring a bell."

She shook her head.

"Considering Eunbyul is a foreign name, I would think whoever this is would have a foreign name too," Alex pointed out.

"Well nevermind about the name guessing then. What else do we have... Uhm... Prince. That's it. A royal family. That means that Eunbyul girl and J must be part of the royal family... Maybe J is the Fifth Prince."

Alex pushed the empty coffee mug away from her and heaved a long, frustrated sigh.

"This is hopeless, isn't it?" She plopped her head down on the table. Mark sighed before ruffling her hair slightly and ordering their fourth refill that day.

"Just relax," he whispered. "Look outside. Isn't it a perfect day?"

It was.

A large blue sky waved down at them as if inviting them to just drift off into it and forget everything. Not clouds invaded the view, nothing was speckled on it except the large, yellow tattoo that always made its appearance whether the sky was clothed with clouds or not. The sun was beautiful that day.

People marched down the streets. The adults mainly looking stressed or focused while the teenagers and younger looked carefree and happy.

Suddenly a person caught Alex's eye. He had dark hair parted slightly to the left and mesmerising black eyes. It reminded her of the night sky. Dark and beautiful with little sparks of hope called stars dancing around them.

Then suddenly she got it.

"Hwang-" the word seemed to slip out like a phrase she had recited ten thousand times but it stopped there. Stopped at Hwang.

"What was that?" Mark peered at her through his dark lashes. "Do you say something?"

Alex only shook her head. What would a person's last name even do for her? Not like it opened a completely new door or memory for her.

The name was right at the tip of her tongue. If only she could just stay it, remember it but the closer she got, the more it felt like a part of her brain was being squeezed shut. Was she not supposed to find out?

Sighing once again, she lay her head back on the table, shaking it slightly.

She just wished everything would come back to her in a wave.

But the strange thing was even though the whole time she was so frustrated, she didn't even feel a hint of confusion. Strange, huh?

"I could really do with a tub of ice cream right now," was all she uttered after that and Mark was up almost immediately.

"Then let's go," he smiled softly, helping her out of her seat.

Alex glanced out at the boy on the streets once more and swore she saw him wink at her. Brushing it off, she took Mark's hand and they walked off, heading off in the opposite direction of the boy.

He watched.

And he winked again at the back of her head.

"Hwang Hyunjin," Jinyoung simply uttered as he watched her walk off with Mark. "The Fifth Prince."
