Marks

(Reader POV)

I was in a stainless steel room. I looked around, noticing the room was bereft of anything. It seemed too quiet. I sprawled out on the floor, due to the lack of furnishings. As soon as my head hit the floor, there was a huge racket coming from outside. I jumped up, sword in hand. Something crashed through the wall, falling on the floor right where I'd been. I looked at what had almost crushed me. A body made of metal. An automaton. 'Oh gods,' I thought. 'I'm doomed.' The automaton got to it's feet and saw me. It advanced, holding pincher hands out in front of it. I ducked, holding Palírroias out in front of me. I heard metal ring, and saw sparks fly. I rolled, getting out of the automaton's range. It turned, advancing with its arm out. I held Palírroias out again, fending off the automaton. This time, Palírroias was ripped out of my grip. Defenseless, I crowded into the corner. The automaton moved closer, holding its hand out. I made a noise at the back of my throat, scared. The automaton grabbed me by the throat, and one final noise was ripped from my mouth. A screech. A name. But who's?

I bolted upright, clutching at my throat. I looked around and let out a sigh of relief. I was in my quarters aboard the Argo II. I looked at my wrist. Palírroias was on my wrist in bracelet form. I got out of bed and went to my mirror. My throat had red marks, just about where the automaton had grabbed it. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Leo stir. He sat up and looked at me. I put my hands on either side of my throat, trying to hide the marks, but it was too late. Leo got up and walked over to me. He grabbed my hands and pulled them down. He brought his hand up and gently touched the marks. He looked at them for a couple minutes before looking me in the eyes. "Dream?" He asked. I nodded. "Care to explain?" I shrugged. He dropped his hands, and I went to sit on the bed. Leo sat down next to me, and I described the dream to him.

When I finished, he nodded, looking at my neck. "The marks are almost gone, now," he said, gently touching the marks. I flinched a little, the marks getting slightly sore. Leo moved his hand up and traced my jawline with his fingers. I sat still, marveling at how gentle he was being. His hand moved to the back of my neck, and he brought his lips down on mine. My hands immediately went to the back of his head, fingers entangling in his soft, brown curls. He pressed me against the headboard, his mouth not relenting on mine. I pressed my mouth against his, not wanting the moment to end. His tongue found mine and his hand found the ponytail holding my braid in. He tugged at it, pulling the ponytail out. He flicked his wrist, tossing the band across the room. He ran his fingers through my hair, the braid unraveling. "Leo," I murmured against his mouth. "What?" He asked. I shuddered, the movement of his lips against mine delicious. "I love you," I said, kissing him. I moved one hand to rest on his chest. The other hand I moved down slightly, coming to rest on the back of his neck. Suddenly, I gasped. The question I had earlier in the dream, it had been answered. I'd yelled out Leo's name.
