Apology

(Reader POV)

After he moved his hand, I looked up, watching him walk away. As I watched him, I wished he hadn't worn a white shirt, since white happens to get see-through when wet. As I watched the muscles in his back glide under his skin under his shirt, I almost instantly wanted to apologize to him, even though it was his fault we had fought. He had started it by telling me that it was all my fault, telling me it had been my own "lack of thinking" that had caused the make-out session. When he got to the stairs heading belowdeck, I put my head back on my knees, just in case he looked back. I started hating myself, knowing I shan't want him back, but I did, badly. I knew I shouldn't hate myself, either, but I couldn't help it. I sent him away, even though from the moment I'd stormed out of the room, I'd wanted to walk right back in and have him wrap his arms around me. But I couldn't. It would show that I wasn't very good at holding grudges, or staying mad, whatever. I sat by Festus for the rest of the time until dinner, since I wasn't very hungry for lunch. Shortly after the dinner bell rang, Hazel came up to me and rested her hand on my shoulder. "Hey," she said, causing me to look up. "You weren't at lunch, and you weren't here this time, I was worried. Leo wasn't at lunch, either. Did something happen between you two that I'm not aware of?" She asked. "I don't think anybody knows," I said, getting up. "Knows what?" Hazel asked. "That the two of us got into a fight," I answered the daughter of Pluto's question. "Oh," she said, looking down as we headed towards the stairs. After descending down the stairs and we were walking toward the mess hall, Leo came into the hallway with Percy. I looked at my feet as we walked down the hallway, trying to avoid his gaze. I felt a hand on my shoulder, causing me to look up. Leo was looking at me. "Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded, stopping in my tracks. Hazel and Percy kept walking while Leo stopped, turning around so he was in front of me. "You sure?" He asked, tilting my chin up with his forefinger. "Yeah," I said, looking at him. "Whatever you say," he said, turning around. I grabbed his arm, making him stop. He turned around, looking at me. I let go of his arm, wrapping my arms around him. He stood rigid for a minute before putting his hand in my hair. "I'm sorry," he said. "You're already forgiven," I said, nuzzling my face into his chest. "Seriously, that was a stupid argument," he said. "Yes, it was," I said, running my hand on his chest, before turning to head to the mess hall.

After dinner, I headed to my room. I supposed Leo was following me, since we'd made up in the hallway before dinner. I got to my room and sat on my bed, waiting for Leo. A couple minutes later, he walked in, sitting on his bed, opposite mine. "So, did you want me to be in here tonight?" He asked. I nodded, moving to sit beside him, resting my head on his shoulder. He turned his head towards me, kissing my forehead. I lifted my head up slightly, pressing my lips to his briefly before putting my head back down. He put his hand on my hair, running his fingers through it. I put my hand on his chest, feeling it expand and contract with each breath he took. "I love you," he breathed, his chest rising and falling as he talked. "I love you, too," I said. "So, not trying to make you mad, but why did you send me away, just to want me back a couple hours later?" He asked, using his finger to lift and turn my head. "Well, I've never been good at holding grudges, and, really, after I sent you away, I wanted to call you back, apologize for the whole fight. But, I told myself that it wasn't my fault we'd fought, to let you apologize first. That all changed when you asked me if I was okay, stepping in front of me. You were so close, I broke down," I explained before getting up to look for a book. I didn't want to get up, to leave his embrace, but my legs were cramping. I heard his bed creak as he got up. A second later, I felt his hands on my hips, turning me around. The next instant, I was being kissed, being pulled against his body. I felt his muscles moving as he moved his arms from my back to my waist, kneading the skin. He was rewarded with a soft moan against his lips before I moved my hands under his shirt to his chest. He pulled my bottom lip between his, using his teeth to hold it there before releasing it. He tilted his head to the side, his eyelashes touching the skin of my cheek. I shivered and Leo moved his hands to my arms, rubbing them, warming them up. I moved a hand up to rest on his shoulder, feeling his muscles underneath his skin. He pulled back, breaking the kiss. Using my arms, he pulled me close, pressing his lips to my forehead. I ducked my head, resting my lips against his chest, over his heart. I felt him press his lips against the top of my head. I smiled, moving my head up, kissing his jaw as I moved my lips to his. He kissed me gently, moving his lips from my lips to my cheekbone, to my temple, to my earlobe. He caressed my earlobe, nibbling it around the earring. I did the same to his, minus the earring.

I pulled back, resting my forehead against his chest, resting my lips over his heart again. I moved my head up, pulling his shirt collar down a little, enough to rest my lips against his collarbone. He lipped my hair, moving his hand to my face. He pushed me back, holding me steady for a moment before moving his hands away. I moved forward again, but was stopped when he raised his hand. He moved his hand down to the hem of his shirt, pulling it up. He tossed his shirt to the side and I moved forward, unable to stop myself. My hands went to his stomach, feeling the hard muscles underneath. I moved my hands up, realizing I'd never actually looked at his chest, except maybe once or twice. I suddenly got inspiration to draw his chest, but was to mesmerized to get my notebook. Instead, I kept my hands on his chest, moving closer to bring my mouth to his. He kissed me feverishly for a couple minutes, before pulling back, pulling me against his chest. Suddenly, Leo inhaled sharply, as if he'd gotten an idea. I stepped back, looking at him. He grabbed his shirt and pulled it over his head. It settled on his shoulders as he grabbed a blanket. He headed above deck and I followed closely behind.

When we got above deck, he spread the blanket out behind Festus. He sat down, gesturing for me to sit next to him. As I curled against his chest, he leaned back against the wall behind us. I pointed out stars like I did the night he'd shown me our star. After I'd pointed out all the stars I knew, ending with our star, we sat together in silence. I started getting tired, so I rested my head on his shoulder, and my hand on his chest. Shortly after, I fell asleep.

It felt like I woke up a little bit after I'd fallen asleep. I was wrapped in the blanket we'd been sitting on, being carried to our quarters by Leo. I was only slightly awake, but I moved my head to bury it in his shoulder. I felt him move a hand to open the door. He put me in my bed, moving his hands to unlock mine from behind his neck. When he moved his hands away, I caught hold of his shirt sleeve. "Te amo," I whispered, releasing my grip. He smiled. "Te quiero, también," he said, moving away to get ready for bed. I rolled over so I wasn't facing the door anymore and curled into a ball under the blankets. I felt the bed slightly raise as he lay down, and I stretched my arm out, reaching for him. He caught my hand, bringing it to his lips before lowering it. I slid closer to him, settling against his chest. He wrapped his arms around me, and I buried my head in his chest before slipping back into sleep.
