LOG - VI
The Nutcase Doctor
" This is just a prototype. Be careful, it may be painful" Stace informed me.
" Ah... him. I'll tell him you said hi" I grinned. She giggled, her childish voice resonating in my mind as she switched on the first run of the Simulator-Bed. Short for Si-Bed.
Wait, it's the long one. Eh, never mind.
The stimulative robot that I had developed over the past few months was connected to the main interface by EPs.
In the idea that we could control and feel the machines body as our own or not if the situation calls for a more tactical route.
" I'll be back in a few hours, Jeamie. No need to worry." I stroked her gentle hair as she threw a perfect smile at me. " Oh I know you will!" Jeamie threw up her thumb.
I strapped myself on the contraption to make sure I didn't fall off, God forbid I rolled even after my conscience was loaded into that metal contraption. The system booted up and loaded all the binary commands, whirring to life.
My vision started to transmit the sort of commands to initiate the transfer as it transisitioned into the robots own interface.
Let's hope I don't get stuck between realities...
My mind blacked out, reloading as my vision came to.
A blue tint surrounded my peripheral vision as the UI booted up.
With some practice, I slowly managed to stand up, with a few clicks and creaks or course. I did a check on the functions.
Power?? - Check. Positional proportions?? - Check. Axial and Ordinal axis calibrated?? - Check. Alright! I did a mental check up.
I looked over at Jeamie whose face was a bit different from my normal vision I was used to.
" Good- err- what time is it? Anyway, good day, my princess" I kneeled before her feet to get myself down to her size fortunately not tipping over. Though Stace was the one who was more energised and hyped about it.
" IT. WORKS!!" She squealed and tackled poor Jeamie into a hug. She struggled as I helped her get free without hurting either one of them with my new body.
I did a few laps around the lab and I got the robot working almost smoothly.
ALMOST...
" So, you ready to get thrown into the exosphere?" Stace asked childishly even though we were in outer space and nowhere near the new planet.
" Uh. I guess... After all, that was why I made this, right?" I gestured at the core in this prototype.
Huh? Why is this like this? WHY IS THIS A FEMALE! I ASKED FOR A MALE! I REPEAT, I ASKED A MALEEE!!!!!
" Commencing operation : Throw Jason Into Space!" But Stace had other ideas as she pushed me into the space where a pod should have been and ejected me in the next second not giving me a moment to act.
I was shot out of the Aegir 524, my body feeling like it was suddenly retained within place as I had to helpless crash on Reflection in a landing that Per-Fe-Ct.
Well, almost perfect.
The antenna got ripped out from the impact.
" So much for safety." I heard myself say before the memory faded away as I woke up back on the Aegir.
And the memories cut it's path, as I stirred from my sleep.
I woke up with a laugh at my own comedic plight and quickly processed something that came up in my train of thoughts.
A useable robotic humanoid that had my data was on this planet and I wasn't aware of it until now. And I was the only one who knew where it was...
Well, Collet knew it but I don't think she could do anything about the void of transmission to triangulate is possible position.
So at nightfall, I decided to sneak out with ATACC as he guided me to the approximate coordinates I gave to the crash site. " How can you be sure that it is still there or even that's the spot?" He buzzed, his confused emoji showing up on his monitor.
Gods, I loved the new upgrade I installed in him!!
And best thing is that he doesn't even realise it!!!
Best. Idea. I've. Had. Ever.
I hid back a smirk and replied his question.
" I don't. I just wish it is." It made his skid to an abrupt stop." You wish!? Are we walking 14 miles just because you wish!?" I knocked him on the head and continued walking.
" You run on Solar cells, so don't blame anything you idiot. I am the one who has to travel but as I'm keeping quiet, zip it" I chided him, taking a sip of water.
Upon reaching our destination and after refilling my body with food and other goodies, I found the robot was still nearly in perfect condition.
Just a bit dusty as it had been deserted in this planet for a few decades.
Of course, it's been
Just another thing was, it crashed it's EP receiver and it was stuck halfway down to Earth in a superhero landing pose with its fist in the ground.
But I guessed it was my doing and the air currents just buried it with the dirt.
It took a lot of time to dig it out in the dim lighting of the dawning sky. And without no moon on this planet for most of the time, it was even harder.
Reflection was a replica of the Earth. But the surrounding celestial bodies weren't the same.
There were two natural satellites orbiting this ball of life with a star three times the distance that out sun had.
So it was mostly dimly lit with the moon not even showing up for some of the days.
After ATACC poked through its structure, he commented sarcastically," Wow. I- I think I could say that I'm FAR SUPERIOR than this dude!" as I was rewiring the trips and circuits with the makeshift ones I snagged from my workshop.
He was made a century before, so he had no say in it.
You're more mobile and useful than this thing...
" What'd I say? Zip it. Z.I.P. It! No-" I snapped, as I slammed my hand on the motherboard but I was interrupted as I yelled, fixing the EP receiver by a roar of static in my ear, shocking me.
Literally and figuratively.
I flinched and backed up and noticed the blue orbs which I thought was a good colour for its eyes beamed up as it said," Dan! It's back! Something fixed it! Come he-what? JASON!? IS THAT YOU!?" In a zippidy voice.
I recognised the notice immediately.
"Dr. Collet...?"
" OHMYGOSHYOUREALIVEANDYOUDIDTHISICANTBELIEVEIT!!" She spat out rapid fire as I reached out my hand in a bit of confusion and it took mine as it pulled itself out of the crater it made, exerting well over the pressure needed, squeezing my hand.
I had to hold in my screams for help.
Then it pulled me and rammed me in a hug and it be an ruffling and stroking my hair as the robot croaked out," You're alive! Thank the stars!" It tried to...or she tried to do her usual kiss to the forehead but as it was made of metal, you get the idea.
Oh great. Hi pain.
I yelled in pain when the thing that should have been her lips hit my head, it nearly made me see double.
AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!
" I knew it had to be someone when the alarm went off! But to think it was you!" She cheered herself, her voice sound a bit more mature.
It's probably the static...
" The proximity sensor? So the only thing damaged was the receiver?!" I asked her, rubbing my forehead. ATACC was mostly taken back as to why a robot which landed here around 53 years ago still worked.
I guess he decided not to ask. Good for him, cause I was gonna hit him over the head with a spanner.
" I was only able to get some visuals before but as the head was turning towards the ground, I couldn't see anything" she knocked her head. " When you dug this old lass out the ground, the signal got through!" She exclaimed, happily waving her arms while we walked the way back.
Yep, it's the static...and no, it's me who fixed it you nincompoop.
" Oh wait. I'm hungry." She paused in the middle of the grasslands and kicked a rock off the ground. " Go get some food, doctor..." I permitted her as I sat down, thinking why I had some feeling that wasn't why she stopped.
This is way to early to be awake and she isn't a early riser by any chance.
That second I yanked myself into thought and so did ATACC.
" WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK HER ABOUT THE AEGIR!!?" Both me and ATACC yelled at each other.
" Don't make me screw your motherboard out!" I threatened him with a mock but he took it more seriously than I thought he would.
With the emoji of panic, he apologised at the speed of sound.
" NO! NO! NO! Anything but that! Not anything concerning disembowelling me! Sorry!" He said in a static filled voice. " Disembowell who?" A voice cut in.
The robot had its hands on it's hips and it demanded why someone was going to have their guts disembowelled.
Well, circuits.
" N-nothing" I shoved away her question and rushed to the cabin as the first few hours of day started to break out. " I forgot to ask. What happened to the Aegir? What happened there?" Stace didn't give any facial expression but her sudden movement gave me something to worry about.
" So the impossible really happened, huh? You lost your memories?" I nodded and she put her hand on my head and ruffled my hair. She then held my hand with a tight grip.
Should I let her know I'm dying from agony? Eh...probably not.
" Let's get back to your pod cabin thingy for now. I'll go nuts if I don't see your sister." She chuckled.
Maybe she matured. Wow...Only a bit though. But all I need now is a nutty mother figure.
I spoke to myself, trying to understand why all the people around me were either girls, a girl in a robot or just a robot.
And I was gifted with a slam on the head with a first the minute I opened the door. " Where have you been!?!?" Jeamie started pounding her hands on my chest and stopped to catch her breath.
And continued again...
" Do you know how hard it was to keep her from waltzing out, on her own?" Aria gave me a knock in between the eyebrows and gave me a peck on the lips.
" Aria?" Stace just entered in and tackled Jeamie almost instantly, cuddling her and I had to step in to stop her becoming squished.
" Dr.Collet? Oh my goodness!" She threw her hands around Stace and I barely managed to snatch Jeamie from being sandwiched in between.
And that's how I had found a new member to my weird wired family. In another Earth called Reflection. Two girls, two robots, one dude.
Yep, none of this makes sense...and I don't think it will anytime soon.
But that's fine by me.
