Hanahaki Disease is a fictional illness born from one-sided love in which the victim coughs up flower petals. The victim dies when the lungs are filled with flowers and roots grow in the respiratory system. However, it can be cured when the beloved returns their romantic feelings, or through surgical removal—but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings also disappear.
