"Racism is" [WARNING: long ass controversial rant ahead]

ehehehe...

just one sec okay?

I've encountered this whole "racism is", "sexism is" thing a lot lately.

So I wanted to set one thing clear:

Racism/Sexism is discrimination based on one's skin colour/sex

Oxford definitions:
Racism: Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior
Sexism: Prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex

That means, that one who is affected by racism/sexism has a disadvantage because of their skin colour/sex.

What racism/sexism does NOT mean is a systematical or systemic (two words that do NOT mean the same) oppression of a minority.

In other words, racism/sexism isn't a system (what systemic would mean) nor a strategie (what systematical would mean)

It is merely the description of someone thinking their OWN skin colour/sex is superior to the discriminated person's.

Which btw also means that one can't be racist/sexist towards themself, because that'd defeat the whole purpose of the word. One can't think they are superior and inferior at the same time.

Furthermore, racism/sexism also isn't only directed to minorities. It can be directed at everyone and anyone. Minorities don't have a monopole on this, especially since women (who apparently suffer the most sexism) are the MAJORITY.

Anyone who does not agree, fight me.

On another note, A few chapters ago, I used "Pride Month is stupid" in the title.

I got a bit of backlash for it along the lines of "what, are you against LGBT+ people?!?!"

So I decided to explain what I thought was obvious.

I don't have anything against LGBT+ people.

What I meant was this whole concept of a pride month.

First off, I don't see how such a simple thing as "be proud of who you are" warrants even a day, let alone a whole month to celebrate. That's like celebrating being human for a whole month. It's something so simple and basic that doesn't require celebration. Especially not for a whole month.

Second off, if this month is there to be proud of yourself, doesn't that mean that in all the other month, you shouldn't, or rather, there's no need to be proud of yourself? I personally don't even see a reason in being proud of something you can't change anyway. In my opinion, if anything, it should be an "acceptance month", not a "pride month".

Third off, this pride month is for LGBt+ and maybe POC as well, in other words, you white straight people out there, don't you DARE even THINK of being proud of who you are during this month. YOU HEAR ME YOU FUCKING WHITE SUPREMIST?!?!
Okay, slight strawman there, but the argument still stands. Many LGBT+ (and POC) use pride month to bash on people that are white, straight or both. And then they justify it with something along the lines of "minorities can't be racist/sexist".

This whole pride month shit makes me so mad, that I want this crap to die in a hole.

Honestly, to all LGBT+ people out there, you can be proud of yourself as much as you want to, I encourage it, but don't participate in this stupid pride month bullshit.

If your opinion differs from mine, that's fine. you don't have to accept it or respect it (though, if you are for freedom of speech, you HAVE to tolerate it) if you don't wanna, I understand.

Though if you are a friend of mine and cannot respect my opinion (again, no need to accept it), then... why did I even consider you a friend in the first place? Please get out of my life.

For everyone who's too lazy to google:
to accept = to agree
to respect = to be considerate (of)
to tolerate = to endure

Good? Good.

I don't want people in my life who cannot tolerate my opinion and I don't want to be friends with people who cannot respect my opinion.
(Of course I will return the favour in terms of respect, though I will always tolerate every opinion)

Oh god, what a rant, but at this point, it had to be said.

I'm sick of being the "nice one" when really, that's not at all who I am or want to be.

If you don't like that, I'm okay with it. You can still read this, I won't exclude you from anything.
I'm not one of these "don't like don't read" people. Surprised?
I just don't wanna be treated like a rug everyone runs over with their muddy shoes anymore.

I'm done.

Have art.
