Chapter Six

Madoka stood next to her two students, glancing back at the tent that her only female student was sleeping, Rin helping the girl by keeping the pain down.

They were currently in the middle of a war, no thought of heading back to Konoha appearing in their minds. Sure, they had finished destroying the bridge but could they really move with Yumiko severely injured?

"Are either of you ready to tell me what happened now? Why Yumiko screams everytime Minato goes near her?" Madoka's black eyes flickered over to Akira and Shun, surprised to see tears falling down Shun's cheeks.

"We were weak, so fucking weak. If I hadn't hesitated. . if I had a better grip of her hand then. . . " Shun buried his face inside his hands, the large boy's body shaking from his silent sobbing.

Akira stared off into the distance, not sure how to respond to the situation. He didn't like Yumiko, no he despised the girl but he didn't wish for this to happen to her. He was blaming himself, thinking the god's had gotten the wrong idea over what he had meant and now Yumiko was suffering.

Madoka frowned at her students, placing her hand atop Shun's shoulder. "Look, I don't know what happened. Hell, I'm absolute fucking mess trying to figure it out but don't beat yourself up for this. Shun, you couldn't stop whatever happened and you have to accept that. What's happened has happened. It's over."

"You don't get it!" Shun snapped, his cheerful self replaced by this rage-filled one. The boy was now standing, his fists clenched together as he tried to resists from lashing out. "I can still hear her scream, oh my god, I can still see her fucking eyes that made her look dead! Madoka-sensei, your student will never be a ninja again! How the hell can you be so calm?!"

Madoka glanced at her feet, biting the inside of her lip. "Shun. . . Yumiko will never be a ninja again. However, it shows that she was weak. it shows that she wasn't cut out for being a kunoichi. It shows that she was. . . useless."

"I'll kill you! Don't you dare fucking talk about her like that!" Shun leapt at his sensei, Akira swiftly jumping up as he grabbed his teammate. Shun looked like he could literally murder Madoka, something that Akira couldn't remember seeing Shun like.

It was hurting Akira to see Shun get so upset over Yumiko but he figured it was a normal human reaction. That was something that Akira hadn't felt for a very long time or at least showed to others.

Madoka stood, her cold black eyes never glancing at her students at she walked away. She ignored the screams and sobs of Shun, the shadow over her eyes hiding her own tears. She didn't want to think like this about her student but Madoka was a person of rules. She had to follow them, even if they broke her heart in the process.

They would leave in the morning, making sure to get Yumiko to a hospital as soon as possible so the girl didn't have too suffer anymore.

Shun tightened his hold on Yumiko's hand, praying that she would just open her eyes. Ever since Rin had helped her go to sleep during the war, Yumiko had yet to wake. It had now been five days and Shun had yet to leave the room.

He wouldn't allow himself to shower, eat or anything that could help his health if Yumiko's health wasn't getting any better.

Shun had also learned that Yumiko was no longer a kunoichi, the girl's leg injury proving that it was barely usable, the doctor's sure that the girl would never walk again.

Shun was pulled from his memories, startled when Yumiko's hand had disappeared from his own. Shun could only see wide, terrified eyes staring at him, tears already filling up.

"Yumiko!" Shun was surprised, the boy standing up as a smile spread across his face. He ignored how Yumiko seemed to shrink back, her pupils dialating in fear.

"G-go away! Please! Go!" Yumiko's voice was small and weak, fear laced through every word.

Shun was confused, shouldn't she be happy to see him? It wasn't like he had done everything to hurt her.

Yumiko was now full on crying, the small girl curling into a ball on her hospital bed. "I SAID LEAVE!"

A few nurses were now in the room, trying to calm down Yumiko. Shun's body was numb, his eyes wide as a nurse pushed him from the room all while shutting the door in his face. He just didn't understand why Yumiko was acting like he was the one who attacked her.

"She doesn't trust a single male right now, Shun."

The tall boy jumped, spinning around to face Kakashi. The Hatake had no reason to be in the hospital, so this just confused Shun even more. His thoughts revolved around Kakashi and Yumiko, both making his head hurt.

"You have to remember that she was violated by males. She's going to think that every male is like that for the rest of her life. Put that together with her now useless leg, she'll probably drive herself insane." The words were cold, the black eyes lifeless.

"But I didn't do anything to her. . . she should realize that after four years I would give up my life for hers!" Shun was outraged, that seemed to be the only emotion he had felt the past few days. His happy personality was quickly being replaced by an angry one, something that everybody that knew the boy could easily see.

Kakashi just sighed, shaking his head as if Shun was stupid. The boy just didn't get the emotional trauma that Yumiko was probably going through right now. Kakashi basically had no heart but even he got it.

"Just help her. She's gonna need it."

2 1/2 years later

Shun placed the last piece of clothing inside the small bag, his brown eyes drifting over to where a girl sat in a wheelchair by the window. Her face was pale, the sunlight contrasting against her skin. With a sigh, Shun placed the bag on his back before walking over to the girl.

"Yumiko, it's time to go," His voice was deeper now, the boy looking to be at least twenty when he was only seventeen. "Come on, up you go."

Shun wore a small smile on his face but Yumiko only stared at him, the girls mouth not even twitching. With another sigh, Shun grabbed Yumiko's outstretched hand before pulling the girl gently to her feet. Except for a slight stumble, Yumiko stayed standing, the girl holding onto Shun tightly.

"Are we going home?" Her voice was once again small, one that reminded Shun of a child. He had yet to see some type of improvement in Yumiko's health, wishing he could just see the girl smile for once.

"Yes, we're going home."  Shun helped the small girl walk, patiently. She was still getting used to walking with a basically useless leg, a huge limp affecting her step.

Shun had moved in with Yumiko, bringing his younger sister with him. They still lived with the girls grandmother of course, Shun supplying fees every month to the old woman so he didn't feel like he was using her.

Yumiko gave a small nod, the bags under her eyes seeming to darken as she thought about going home. Her life was ruined, her career as a ninja over.

Yumiko wasn't sure she wanted to live anymore, the pain was just too much sometimes. It was hurting her emotionally and physically.

A cough came from the door, the source a boy with spiky black hair that was pulled into a low ponytail. Without a second though, he grabbed the bag that Shun was holding which allowed the larger boy to help Yumiko more efficiently.

"It's about damn time you got out of this fucking place," Akira mumbled, his green eyes flickering across the gloomy room. Although the room now had sunshine, Akira could still see the darkness that Yumiko used to envelope herself in.

You're not here for her, you're here for Shun, Akira had to constantly remind himself this fact, his heart aching when he remembered that Shun was planning to marry the fragile girl he was now carrying in his arms.

It was something that was being kept a secret but Akira knew that everyone knew. The way Shun looked after Yumiko, even the way he talked about the girl showed how much he deeply cared for Yumiko. Akira would even go as far to say that Shun loved the girl.

However, Akira could see the parts of Shun that nobody else could, the parts that the large boy tried to keep hidden. He could still remember the boy falling into depression, the tears that slid down Shun's face when he told Akira he was going to marry Yumiko.

It was true that Shun cared for Akira, even wanting to go as far as nearly giving up his life countless times. It was clear that the love wasn't meant to be once Yumiko squeezed her way into the picture. If she hadn't gotten hurt like this. . . would they be in this predicament right now?

Akira stopped in front of the small house that Yumiko and Shun now lived in, eyebrows raising when an extremely old woman opened the door. Akira hadn't even knocked yet but the older woman, whom Akira identified as Yumiko's grandmother, had known all along they would be arriving. She had once been a kunoichi after all.

The sound of feet came running down the hallway, a small body pushing past Akira as she flung her arms around Shun and Yumiko.

"I'm so, so happy Yumiko-oneesan gets to be home!" The girl gave Yumiko and Shun a huge smile, taking Yumiko's hands when Shun had set the girl down.

"Keiko, don't bother her too much," Shun reminded his sister, seeing the flash of mischief in her hazel eyes.

Yumiko shook her head at Shun, giving him a lifeless smile. "It's alright, Keiko just wants to help me Shun."

Keiko seemed to have realized Akira was standing there then, the twelve year old turning a deep shade of red. She quickly nodded a hello, pulling Yumiko inside the small house.

Shun sighed, rubbing the back of his head as he tried not to think about anything that had happened over the past few weeks. He had learned things about Yumiko that he hadn't known and it was bothering him.

"Shun, this may be the wrong time and everything but I've started to remember things."

Instantly the blonde's head snapped towards Akira's, his eyes wide. Akira wasn't supposed to remember, that was all Shun knew. He had no idea what the boy had been forced to forget but he knew it must have been bad enough to have been erased.

"I have a . . twin sister. I also had a mom and dad. I don't know what happened to them but I just remember their faces. It's bothering me so much, Shun. . . " Akira's face had darkened, the boy's voice cracking, allowing himself to show at least a little bit of emotion.

It was hard keeping everything bottled up inside, the pressure suddenly becoming too much.

Akira jumped when a hand landed on his shoulder, his eyes trailing up to meet Shun's. A determined look was set across the boy's face, thoughts racing through each boys mind.

"We'll find out eventually but right now, let's focus on helping our friend, alright? As soon as we make sure she's okay, we'll confront the third Hokage."

Akira grimaced, nodding. He didn't like the idea of putting Yumiko before himself but he would do whatever Shun wanted. He followed him like a lost puppy after all. Finally both boys went inside the small house, going to where they heard Keiko's familiar laugh.

"I'm gonna be an auntie!" The child was doing a dance in the middle of the kitchen, Yumiko watching her with the same smile she had given before; a dull one. A smile that held no real meaning behind it.

Both boys had stopped in their tracks, Akira dropping the small bag he had been carrying.

"A-auntie? What the hell do you mean?" Shun's voice was shaken, his brown eyes flickering between Yumiko, her grandmother and his younger sister. He had clearly missed a lot while Akira and he were talking.

"Shun-niisan, Yumiko-neesan is gonna have a baby!" Keiko cried out in joy, the child giving another twirl as she let out a giggle.

Yumiko's grandmother, Rei, moved closer to the boy, her eyes squinting up at him. "This fetus is barely even a month into term. You're the only person Yumiko would have allowed close to her which means this child is yours."

Shun could feel the sweat dripping down his head, his mouth moved but no words came out. "Oh my god. . . I'm gonna be a. . . oh my god! I'm going to be a father!"

Shun was so busy rejoicing he hadn't noticed the disappearance of his childhood friend, his thoughts never reminding him of Akira.

The one person who truly knew Shun and loved him for who he was.

please stop me rn

I'm going to be making a lot of feels in the next few chapters so pls be prepared maybe

Okay is you're confused, when Yumiko gets injured, She's fourteen. That's makes her sixteen when she gets pregnant. Young, I know. But in order for the child to be the age I want, it must happen. xD

Btw, Shun is seventeen and so is Akira.

Also, even though it's not really important in the story atm, Madoka does have a family. She had a loving husband as well as a ten year old daughter. he also has little Asuna that she adopted who would now be thirteen <3
