Chapter 4

We faced the four before us. My main concern personally is Sora, as is Fuka's.

The U.A. kids can take the other three, I don't care. But I'll fight alongside them if only to spite Sora.

"It's four against seven." The ice kid spoke, to which the green haired kid nodded.

"Kacchan already exposed the fog's weakness." He said, eyes trained on them. The red head hardened his arms, preparing as well.

"These guys are crazy, but if we back up All Might we can push them back." Fuka giggled at this, but I knew she's trying to remain strong, especially since she's facing off with her brother.

"Guess we're doing this." I mumbled, pivoting my foot, preparing to launch at Sora.

"No! Run away." All Might ordered, stepping closer to the enemy. "You would've been in trouble if I hadn't done anything earlier, right?" The ice kid said, going into a stance.

"That was a different story Young Todoroki. Thanks. But it's fine! Just watch as a pro gives it everything he's got."

I stared at his back, noticing the way his electric signals tried to recede.

Something is wrong with him. What, I don't know.

I shook my head a bit. "I'm not your student so I have no obligation to listen to you." I stated.

The Hero didn't turn. "This is true. But it is my duty to protect you. To take down Villains who threaten innocent people. Please, Young Miss."

I was about to argue back, but Fuka placed a hand on my arm. "Fuka?" She shook her head, her green eyes holding a mass of emotions.

"Anju, I think we should wait and see how this plays out." She whispered, but those near us could still hear.

I frowned, my brow furrowed in confusion. She leans in closer, her lips brushing against my ear. "We can grab Sora after All Might tires him out. Besides, I've seen how he fights. It's not a style where others can fight alongside him." She whispered so quietly I could barely hear.

I wanted to argue with her but knew she's right.

All Might's strength prevents others to fight alongside him. Or at least makes it difficult. Mix it with Nomu who's created to equal, even prevail his strength, well that leads to catastrophe.

I doubt even the others could fight with those two seriously duking it out.

"Nomu, Kurogiri. Get him. Sora, you and I will take care of the children."

I'd like to see you try. Hm? I glanced at All Might, his electric signals spiking.

How's that even possible? Signals don't spike like that. I don't understand.

Ah. I froze, my own signals spiking, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand and my own hair friz.

His signals are making mine . . . shake?

All Might lunged forward, as did Nomu.

Their fists clashed and the wind whipped madly due to their strength. "Fuka!"

"Right!" She shouted, moving her hand out and counteracting the wind with her own. But even then it still made me falter back.

Gritting my teeth I grounded myself more as Fuka continued to counteract the wind they picked up. The two of them continued to fight, their strikes too fast for the human eye to see.

"Damn. Hey, you talked about his Shock Absorption yourself earlier, didn't you?" The leader questioned. As I watched the fistfight, I smirked.

"It doesn't matter if he has it!" I called, making him turn his eyes to me. But I only stared into Sora's eyes. He, like Fuka, was doing his best to counteract the wind with his own.

"If it's Absorption and not Nullification, there's a limit. How much can Nomu's body take? As soon as he exceeds that his body will deteriorate. The backlash of the Quirk is that once it's reached its limit it destroys itself. All Might knows that." I smirked, watching as the two destroy the trees, the pavement, everything in their path as their fistfight battle progressed.

I have never witnessed a battle like this. Such strength and speed.

A real battle.

So this is a Hero vs. Villain fight. It made my body buzz with excitement and anticipation. The urge to be able to do the same resonates in myself.

Something in me yearned to be like that. To be able to move like he does. To be able to go beyond my limits.

I have never experienced this before. A smile made its way onto my face, despite the destruction the two inflicted on the surroundings.

While others stared with their mouths wide open, my smile remained. His electric signals keep on spiking, making me buzz even more with excitement.

How is he doing this? Where is this power coming from?

"Hey Villain, have you ever heard these words? Go beyond! PLUS ULTRA!"

His final hit on Nomu, sent the Villain flying upwards and straight through the roof. Even after hitting the tough building, he kept flying.

Such strength. I had never seen any Hero in a battle personally. Especially the Symbol of Peace. But I can understand why everyone gets so hyped up with them.

This battle, I couldn't take my eyes off of it.

Despite my situation and my desire to get Sora back. I could only watch as he demanded my attention solely on him.

It's amazing.

"He's so strong." Fuka breathed, her eyes glued to where Nomu flew.

Ah. My eyes went back to All Might. Those strong and distracting signals died almost instantly, going back to normal living being signals.

I have no explanation on what that was. Or even if it can be possible.

This Hero is the most extraordinary one I've ever met.

The mutterings of the leader broke me from my train of thought as I looked over at him. "Midoriya! We should get out of here now! It'll be worse if we end up getting taken hostage instead. You girls too!" The redhead called.

I shot him a glare. Me? Being a hostage. I almost snorted at the thought.

Although the green haired boy made no motion to move as he stared at his teacher intently. Worry etched onto his face. Huh? What's going on there.

The leader began to growl as he scratched madly at his neck, mumbling. "Shigaraki Tomura! Please calm yourself." Kurogiri tried.

Sora nodded, his eyes on All Might. "Look at him closely. He's weakened considerably. He's probably bluffing." Kurogiri nodded, I think, agreeing with Sora.

"And besides, the children appear to be frozen in fear. We still have underlings who can be used. There are likely only a few minutes left before reinforcements come. If the three of us work together, we still have a chance of killing him."

Some of the thugs began to stand. They're nothing to worry about.

They are.

The three in front ran at All Might. My body sparked with electricity, readying for battle. And in the blink of an eye, the green haired kid, Midoriya, was by them, his fist drawn back.

So fast. He's aiming for Kurogiri, ah!

He warped, Sora's hand is through, wind gathering in it.

Shit!

I launched over, grabbing the back of Midoriya's shirt and moving him back and away. I thrust my hand outward as well, electricity in it.

At the same time, Sora and I lashed out with our attacks, sending us in opposite directions. Fuka quickly flew our way, using her wind to stop the fall. Then the gunshots sounded, piercing Shigaraki's arms and legs.

Sora quickly created a wind barrier around himself, making the bullets miss him.

What the?

We all turned to the entrance, where a line of Heros stood. The teachers are here.

"I, Iida Tenya, class 1-A representative, have now returned!"

Ah. that's the kid I saw running from here. So he was getting backup.

I recognize most of the Heroes lined up from TV and magazines. So, these are the teachers here.

Some of the thugs began to run from the plaza towards the entrance, and one Hero moved forward. This one I recognize as Present Mic.

He shouted 'Yeah' and the loud sound intensified and subdued those who made a move, before Ectoplasm sent his clones to them to take care of them.

A tiny rat on one's shoulder ordered them to split up and protect the students. Just like that, the tides immediately turned and the Villains were getting defeated.

Wind whipped around Shigaraki and moved towards Kurogiri, who's gate is already open.

The wind parted, revealing Sora and Shigaraki. "Sora!" Fuka shouted, flying his way. I immediately used my enhanced speed to run their way as well.

Fuka and I reached our hands out, almost reaching the fog, but then they disappeared. Making us grasp nothing but air.

No. No, not again! He was right there! He was in front of me, he can't be gone already! Damn it!

Sora's blue eyes burned in my mind and I growled in frustration.

He was right there. Right in arms length. But I couldn't get him.

Which means we're on the hunt again. Just great.

Sighing, I rubbed my head in annoyance.

Fuka's crestfallen face making me feel even worse than I already do. This could've finally been the day where we bring him home. But we failed. Again.

A wall of cement shot up and blocked my view off All Might and the green haired kid.

That kid, his signals, they spiked. Just a bit, but I'm sure of it. I want to question him, but even more so the big Hero himself. Then again we're trespassers who interfered with Heroes work.

Misaki will kill me if he finds out.

"You two young ladies." Hm? Ah. A Hero walked towards us, Snipe if I remember correctly. "Ah! They're not Villains, they were helping us." The redhead immediately said, coming to our defense.

Snipe looked over at us curiously. "Is that so? Well we'll have to talk to you about what you two were doing here. Please come with me and we'll tend to your injuries if you have any."

Well this isn't ideal.

Misaki is definitely going to hear about this. We're going to get in trouble, and it's U.A. so it's not something he can use his influence on. Hell, they'd even go to Fuka's parents directly. And she'll be in for a cold hell.

Fuka and I looked at each other before back at him. "Yeah, no."

Wind whipped around us violently and we were airborne. "Ah! Wait!" Snipe shouted, not shooting on the account that we're not Villains.

Before any other Hero could attempt to get us, Fuka flew us through the hole in the ceiling, we came in and moved as as fast as she could. "We better put some distance between them and us." She murmured thoughtfully.

I nodded in agreement, leaning against the wind lazily.

There's no way I'm getting caught up in this. And we live a pretty good distance away. With any luck, they won't be able to find us.

"I'm sorry Fuka. I'm sorry I couldn't catch him." She glanced at me, her green eyes holding sadness and sympathy.

"I'm sorry too."

~

"Yes!" Fuka cheered as my character died, yet again.

We're in my bedroom playing an old fighting game. I sat on my bed, leaning against the wall as I played while Fuka sat on the floor, directly in front of the TV, a bad habit of hers.

I scowled at my dead character, annoyed beyond belief. "You cheat." I grumbled, tossing the control aside.

Fuka leaned her head back so she could look up at me, her grin only grew. "Awe, don't be a sore loser." I rolled my eyes at her. "Don't be an obnoxious winner."

I've never been good with video games. No matter how often I play. And Fuka here is a natural. She's hasn't lost in years.

I huffed in annoyance but reached for my controller to play another round.

It's been a week since the incident at U.A. and a week since we continued our endless search for Sora.

Of course I'm frustrated but there isn't much I can do. All I can do is the same thing I have been. I'm not going to stop and neither is Fuka. We're going to find him and bring him back. Then our lives will go back to normal.

Hopefully.

I know it's a long shot, but it's the only thing keeping her from falling apart. Is it so bad to hope?

"Anju, Fuka! Can you come out here for a minute?" Misaki's voice called out.

Huh? Fuka looked back at me curiously but I shook my head, not knowing what he could want.

Shrugging, I hopped off my bed and we left my room, heading into the living room. "What is it Misaki-Chan-" Fuka's question is cut off at the sight before us.

There's a man wrapped in bandages like a mummy, with long, unkempt black hair and dark clothing over his bandages. Next to him is a small rat person, next to him is a tall, burly man with silver hair and a square jaw, and next to him, a normal looking person with dark hair and a trench coat.

My eye twitched. He's totally a nark-I mean cop.

Misaki stood next to him, a smile on his face. But it held no warmth or happiness. No, it dropped the temperature in the room.

"These nice men have told me that you two have been up to trouble again."

Fuka and I began to sweat.

"Okay, I know this is bad, but I swear I didn't hit the car that hard." I began, thinking of the most recent incident.

I may or may not have gone a little overboard by taking my temper out on those thugs.

Confusion filled my cousins face. "What? No not that-you hit a car?! What?!" My cousin demanded. I stared at him for a moment. Not the car incident?

"What?" I asked, playing dumb.

His temple throbbed in annoyance.

The little rat man smiled kindly, walking up to us. "No need to worry. I'm from U.A. I'm Principle Nezu and these two are Aizawa Shota and Kan Sekijiro. It's a pleasure to meet you; Raiden Anju, Nakahara Fuka."

The principle of U.A?

Ah shit.

Fuka gulped loudly from next to me. Misaki's cold smile returned. "Yes. Imagine my surprise when they arrived half an hour ago and told me my little cousin, who I'm in custody of, broke into U.A. and fought against Villains." His temple continued to throb.

Ah man. I thought we were home free.

"In our defense, we were let in." Fuka tried, which just made another vein in his face throb.

Uh-oh.

"Now, now. You're not in that much trouble. I mean, you shouldn't have left the way you did without making a statement, but I was concerned with your safety." The cop began.

Misaki gestured to the sectional couch. We all sat down, Fuka and I apart from the others.

Her gaze went to the mummy of a man, Aizawa, across from her. "Are you the man that Nomu hurt?" She asked innocently.

Is he? Now that I have a closer look, he does kind of resemble him. But it's hard to tell with him this bandaged. "Yeah." He simply answered.

She nodded, tilting her head to the side. "I am detective Tsukauchi Naomasa. I just want to ask a few questions." We remained silent. He didn't seem fazed by it and continued.

"What were you two doing at USJ?" He asked. I just stared at him, not saying anything. Fuka pursed her lips, not wanting to tell.

"Anju, Fuka." Misaki's voice is stern, yet there's an underlying softness to it.  Fuka cringed, not liking it, but desperately wanting to keep it hidden. We remained silent.

"Is it about Nakahara Sora?" Detective Tsukauchi asked. Fuka winced at his question and I clenched my jaw. "I just want to help." The detectives voice softened.

Fuka sighed softly, her smile was completely gone. "We-we heard he'd be there. We just wanted to bring him home, y'know?" She forced a smile.

"I understand that your brother has began to run with a bad crowd. But now he's with the League of Villains. You do realize how serious this is, right?" She clenched her skirt tightly.

"Yeah we get it." I spat. Misaki gave me a warning look.

"How'd you get that information?" The principle asked curiously. He seemed relatively impartial with the exception of his curiosity

I shrugged, leaning back against the couch and crossing my arms.

"We asked around." I stated, monotonous. To this the detective raised an eyebrow.

"You asked?" He questioned, obviously not believing me. I smirked.

"We can be very persuasive." I stated cockily.

Misaki sighed, running a hand down his face. "The bar?" I shrugged, remaining in my relaxed position. "The wind carries a lot of secrets." Fuka spoke, a genuine smile on her face.

She tilted her head a bit. "If you listen, you'll hear them. Whether you should or not." She said cryptically.

They eyed us a bit. "I'd still like a statement from you two. At least what happened at USJ. Normally you could be in a lot of trouble, but Principle Nezu here is willing to make a compromise."

Huh? A compromise?

I looked at the odd principle, trying to get a read on him.

"Yes, that's right! You two were brave, and when you could have just snuck in and only went for Nakahara-San, you didn't and chose to help those who were in danger. I've heard a lot about you from the detective. So I'm well aware of your family lineage and their work."

When he said lineage, he looked at Fuka, and when he said work, his gaze went to me and I involuntarily sparked, my hair moving due to the electricity.

"Anju-" Misaki began gently. "He's not my family." I seethed. My fingers sparked some more and I struggled to reel in my emotions.

Fuka gently placed her hand on mine, ignoring the sparks, giving it a comforting squeeze. I immediately calmed myself down and stopped sparking.

"Okay, so you know about us. What's so special about that?" She asked, a tinge of bitterness in her voice making her sound so foreign.

"I understand the difficulties you face, especially at your age. It's all very confusing and onerous. So I want to offer you two something. A spot at my school. The Hero Course naturally. What do you say?"

I blinked once, twice, three times.

"What?"
