Chapter 3

I narrowed my eyes on the strange bird guy.

All living beings electric signals are similar, nearly impossible to tell the difference between them. But this guys signals are . . . warped.

I don't know how else to describe the offputting feeling I'm getting from him. But it brings back memories of my stepdad and his damn lab.

This only made me more agitated than I already am so the urge to punch him straight out of this dome is strong.

Blue electrictricity coated me as I kept it in a steady channel inside and outside of my body.

I glanced around briefly with my peripheral vision.

Now that I'm down here I can see the situation clearer. Most of the Villains here aren't even worth being called that. They're thugs at best. The only real danger I can see is the mass of muscle in front of me.

And them.

My amber eyes darted to the man behind him, with light blue messy hair and hands, literally hands, all over his body and the warp beside him.

The warp is only good for making escapes, but that's what makes him tricky. So three threats are in front of me.

Then there's Sora, whatever zone he's in. He's not a pushover, definitely stronger than these thugs here in the plaza. So that's four known threats. And those are the only ones I'm aware of. There could be stronger ones in any of these zones.

The unknown variables are definitely going to cause problems. But Fuka hasn't made her appearance.

And these guys haven't even bothered to look up to see her, casually floating due to her Wind. Maybe some of the thugs, or students, but I doubt it.

I brought all of the attention to me, so that's a card I have up my sleeve.

"Nomu, crush her." A hoarse voice spoke. It came from the hand man. The bird guy, Nomu, immediately lunged at me at his order.

Using the enhanced speed thanks to the electricity, I avoided his hit and watched as his fist lodged in the ground where I once was, in front of the beaten teacher.

He's strong. He crushed the ground as if it were nothing. Not to mention the speed he moved. Perhaps he has a similar ability with me and channeling something to his muscles.

At a fast speed, I ran up to him and threw a punch. Because the electricity is enhancing my muscles, it normally would fling any person quite a distance.

But Nomu took the hit and only skidded back a couple feet.

What the? I packed a lot in that hit, it should have sent him flying.

Nomu lunged at me and I did the same. We both drew back our fist and thrust, hitting each other. The wind whipped madly at the intensity of our hits, but neither of us budged.

Before he could hit with his free hand, I brought my leg up and slammed it into his abdomen, flinging him up a bit, not as much as it should have though.

Glaring at the man, I channeled more electricity into my muscles, not caring about the drawbacks of it later.

I jumped up at high speed, the ground where my feet was dented in with the power. I threw another punch at him, making him fly higher than before.

"Now!" I shouted.

Fuka, who was still in the sky out of view, moved her hand towards Nomu and sent a large gust of wind at him, smacking him back to the ground.

I landed back, staring at where the creature fell.

Movement in the corner of my eye caught my attention. I see the hand man by the shore of the water, where three kids were. Reaching towards their petrified faces.

"Fuka!" I ordered. She didn't have to ask. We've always been able to understand each other without words. That's what happens when you've been with someone for as long as we have.

We've fought side by side a great number of times.

A twister formed around the students, sending ripples across the water at the disturbance and flinging the hand man back by the force.

Fuka entered the funnel of the twister and it moved off to the side and over the beaten teacher before dispersing. The three kids fell to the ground while Fuka landed gracefully.

I eyed the teacher a bit before looking up towards the entrance, where the other teacher still lay unmoving in the arms of a female student.

Some of the thugs began to get up, their eyes trained on me.

I turned a bit and increased the electricity and gathered it in my hands. The bolts ran a bit wild and struck the ground, cracking it as I continued to channel more and more into my palms.

After gathering up a significant amount, I thrust my hands outwards, sending bolts to the thugs.

They screamed out in pain as they were electrocuted by my attack before crumbling to the ground.

The pungent smell of singed hair and skin brought me some satisfaction.

My Quirk works well close and long distance.

I turned quickly and moved my head to the side, avoiding Nomu's punch.

I slapped my hand to his chest, electrocuting him. I thought he'd shout, maybe double over, but he didn't seem affected at all.

I channeled even more and blue electricity sparked over us and even more. "Anju!" Fuka's worried voice snapped me out of my confusion and I jumped away from his hit, skidding across the ground.

What the hell? No matter how tough someone is, if they're struck with that much voltage, they should be in pain. They should react to it in some way.

I thought his Quirk was super strength, but I think he's just freakishly strong.

No, his Quirk must be Shock Absorbtion or Nullification.

My teeth clenched and I got into a fighting stance. With him, I'll have to fight seriously.

I'm not going to lose. Not to Nomu or anyone else. There's no way in hell I'll lose!

Before I could lunge at Nomu, a strange electric signal spiked before the doors to the entrance was kicked in.

Everyone's attention turned to the sudden intrusion, even Nomu's. My eyes widened ever so lightly at the sight before me.

I have never, not once in my life, seen All Might in person.

My body tingled, more so the electricity in me did at the sight in front of me. Never in my life have I ever encountered a living being with electric signals like his.

They're strong and almost erratic. But not in a threatening way. In a very, very powerful way. Almost like it's multiple signals combined into one. I couldn't help but feel a bit in awe at the man before me.

There's just one thing that's off putting.

The Smiling Hero isn't smiling. In every magazine, website, and interview, he's smiling.

Seeing him without one is unsettling.

"It's fine now! I am here!" His deep voice, wasn't loud, but his voice carried itself nonetheless.

Relief filled me. Not because I was afraid of Nomu or thought I couldn't defeat him. But now I don't have to.

I can go and look for Sora since the Number One Hero is here to take care of things.

"I've been waiting, Hero. You trash of society." Huh? I glanced over at the hand man.

He's the one who wanted to kill All Might. So he's the leader? The one Sora decided to follow?

Tch.

I stopped the flow of electricity over me and in my muscles and jogged over to where Fuka stood with the other three students and semi-conscious teacher.

The students looked over at me, confusion and the lingering sense of fear still in them.

My eyes drifted to the dark ones of the teacher, who watched me.

"You should take him out of here while you still can. All Might's here, so you should focus on getting to safety." I stated cooly.

Fuka nodded enthusiastically. "That's right! He should be treated right away. If you want, I can send you to your friends over there!" She spoke cheerfully.

She snapped her fingers and the wind lifted them up. "Wha! W-Wait, who are-" The green haired boy was cut off as Fuka sent them up towards the entrance with little effort.

There, now that they're out of the way-I froze as All Might is suddenly beside us.

W-When, how did he get here? Goosebumps rose on my skin and I looked up at the towering man. Fuka is as shocked as I am.

"Young girls, I thank you for protecting my students and colleagues. Go to the entrance, out of dangers way." His frown turned into a smile, one I've seen plastered all over cities.

"Don't worry! I am here now!"

Fuka and I began to walk back and out of his way, yet we couldn't tear our eyes from him as he lunged at the Villains. "Carolina . . !" He moved, his arms in an 'X' in front of him.

"Nomu." The hand man said, and Nomu moved in between the two, to protect his leader as All Might struck his arms out.

"Smash!" The strike did damage to the surrounding, but Nomu remained standing, only skidding back slightly.

Nomu struck back and the two were locked in a battle. All Might's hits worked about as well as mine because of his damn Quirk.

"It doesn't work because of Shock Absorption. In order to cause damage to Nomu it would be more effective to slowly gouge out his flesh. Whether he'd let you do that or not is a different issue though."

Flesh, huh. Fuka can slice at him with her wind, but we can't kill him.

All Might moved behind Nomu and wrapped his arms around his waist before throwing them back in a suplex move. I held my arms up across my face as the wind whipped madly based on the impact.

Damn he's strong.

That's a simple suplex yet it was like an explosion went off.

We need to get out of his way. Find Sora. But there's still something off about his signals that's making me hesitate. The electric flow in his body is off, different then most living beings.

I was about to ignore it and turn when the dust cleared. The warp had gotten in the way, saving Nomu and making Nomu's top half appear underneath All Might.

His large hands with talon like nails dug into the Heroes sides. Blood stained his white shirt where Nomu's fingers are at.

"Were you trying to keep him from moving by sticking him deep in the concrete? You won't be able to stop him like that. Because Nomu is as strong as you are." The leader spoke smugly.

I grit my teeth, the uneasy feeling only spreading. The way he speaks and orders Nomu around . . . it's like he's not even a person.

Images of the lab flashed through my mind unwillingly.

My stepdad and his colleagues did experiments on animals and people. Although I wasn't one to be locked in a cage and altered, I've seen it many times in the animals and even people they had.

Is Nomu even human? He's being treated as a weapon.

All Might let go of Nomu's lower half and worked to remove his iron grip from his side. If I send electric shocks, it'd only harm All Might.

Nomu has Shock Absorption, so it'd do nothing like before. Same with Fuka's wind. Even if she did manage to free All Might, it'd be done because he tore from his flesh in Nomu's hands.

The warp.

The warp is the best way to go.

But he doesn't have a physical body. I've never encountered someone with his ability. How would this even work?

The leader scratched his neck. "Kurogiri." Yellow eyes in the warp moved to look at the Hero in Nomu's clutches.

"I do not want blood and guts overflowing within me, but I would be happy to take in someone as great as you. You are too fast to see with the human eye. Restraining you was Nomu's job. And then when your body is halfway in, to close the gate and tear you apart is my job." The warp, Kurogiri, informed.

Fuka gasped from next to me and my jaw clenched.

That's actually a really good plan. And the possibility of it working is alarming.

He needs help.

An image of Sora flashed through my mind and I clenched my fist. Damn it!

A flash of green ran past me. "All Might!" The green haired kid screamed heading towards the Hero.

However before he could reach, Kurogiri appeared before him, cutting him off from All Might.

Shit!

Electricity covered me and I lunged forward, grabbing the kid and moving us away from the warp as another kid slammed his hand onto the warp and caused an explosion upon contact.

"Move, you're in the way Deku!" He shouted.

I landed a few feet away from him, turning off my Quirk and setting the kid down. The blonde kid grabbed onto something metallic in Kurogiri and slammed him into the ground.

Ice reached across the ground and froze over parts of Nomu. The ice path led to another kid with red and white hair, an emotionless mask on his face.

Because of the ice coating part of Nomu, All Might was able to get out of his grasp. Another kid descended down and towards the leader, but his strike was avoided.

"Stop acting so stuck up, foggy nobody!" The blonde shouted with a sadistic look on his face.

"The Symbol of Peace cannot be killed by the likes of you." The ice kid noted.

Hm. The corner of my lip twitched up a bit. Interesting group of students here. Strong, brave, and willing to throw themselves into a fight.

The blonde boy snickered as he held Kurogiri down.

"You careless bastard. You're just what I thought you'd be. Only certain parts of you can turn into a misty warp gate. The fog gate covered your actual body, right? If you were completely made of mist and physical attacks couldn't touch you, then you wouldn't have said 'that was close'."

Kurogiri started to move, but the blonde just pressed harder on the metallic part of him and set of small explosions on it, keeping him pinned.

"Don't move! If I feel like you're moving suspiciously then I'll blow you up."

I raised an eyebrow at his behavior.

"This is a Hero school, right?" I asked out loud.

The red head near me sweatdropped at my question. "Yeah. His behavior just isn't very hero-like." He said, his arm extended like a sword, his skin hardened.

Fuka giggled, skipping over to me as she looked down at him. "It sure is interesting. Hero Schools sure do have odd bunches in them."

Whatever. Not like it's any concern to us.

Well, it looks like they have everything under control over here.

"In addition to capturing them, they're almost all uninjured. Kids these days are amazing. They make the League of Villains look bad. Well, no matter. We have a kid of our very own. Sora."

Huh? Ah!

I jumped over towards the blonde tackling him away as two strikes of wind cut down where he once was, making perfect cuts into the earth.

"What the?!" The blonde yelled in agitation, shoving me off of him. But I didn't pay any mind to him.

No, not when he's here.

That all too familiar attack, it's him alright.

A young man landed gracefully next to Nomu. His silver hair is shorter, but styled, his striking blue eyes holding little emotion. He's tall, and I knew that under his clothes are muscles he worked hard on with Inasa.

As usual, he sported his darker colored clothes, making his mesmerizing eyes even more so, especially with his porcelain colored skin.

Sora glanced at Nomu, who exited Kurogiri's warp, and in doing so, shattered his right arm and leg that was covered in ice.

Kurogiri, whose free now, moved to the leaders side as Nomu began to regenerate his limbs.

"What? His Quirk wasn't Shock Absorption?" All Might asked, standing up.

He definitely said that. But . . .

"I didn't say that was all he had. This is his super-regeneration. Nomu has been modified to take you at 100%. He's a super-efficient human sandbag."

No way. Then he was an experiment. Designed to kill All Might. Then that means that everyone is still in danger even with All Might here.

And Sora.

Sora is in league with these people who experiment on people and create new beings. Despite knowing my feelings on the matter, he's still aligning himself with them.

Now that's a hard slap to my face. Anger boiled within me and all I could see is red.

My spitefulness urged me onto a different track with my plan. But there's also hurt.

Well then Sora. As pay back, how about I fight with these Hero wannabes?

Wouldn't that piss you off?
