Chapter 2

I leaned lazily on a chair, staring at my cousin with a bored expression. Seeing how red his face was getting, I decided to pay attention to him.

"-will get you nowhere! How can you be so irresponsible!" I tuned back in to his hour lecture. He's really going at it. I'm sure he actually likes lecturing people.

"I get it, I get it! Enough Misaki." I groaned, slinking more into my chair.

Fuka, the traitor, decided to actually stay at her house last night. Of course I got another earful for skipping classes again yesterday.

Not to mention when I broke a few things at the bar last week.

He narrowed his eyes on me even more. "I'm saying it because you don't get it! I don't want to keep on getting calls from your school saying you didn't show up or you left early. And those businesses you wreak havoc in?"

I rolled my eyes at him. "I haven't destroyed anything in a week. Besides, they don't report it or anything." I grumbled.

He closed his eyes and sighed deeply. "Of course they don't. They're afraid of you. Come on Anju. You're not a bad girl, so why do you keep on doing this? If it's about Sora, you need to leave it to the police-"

My head whipped up and I glared at him, unable to contain my anger. "It's been over a year and they haven't found him. What good are they?!" I snapped.

Misaki's eyes softened as he looked at me in pity. Which only infuriated me further.

He crouched down in front of me so he could look up at my face. "I know you're frustrated. You and Fuka. But if you continue like this, you're only going to get yourselves hurt. I know you two are strong, but you're not Heroes, or police. You're normal high school girls. I don't want to see you two hurt by trying to do police work. I've been pushing the Sora case onto my boss. Every day. I'm not letting them forget. We'll find him."

The urge to smack him decreased. Damn you Misaki. You and your sensitive ass.

"Maybe you should take a break and visit your mom." I pursed my lips tightly, a scowl morphing back onto my face. "I'm going to be late for school. Y'know, the thing you lectured me about an hour now?" I asked sarcastically, standing up and grabbing my bag.

Misaki sighed and stood up. "Alright. I'll see you after school." He called.

I tried my best not to slam the door on the way out of our apartment.

Kiyoshi Misaki may be a saving grace, but he's also a busybody.

I spend most of my time hanging out with Fuka, but if I'm not with her I'm usually with my cousin. And as soon as Misaki moved into an apartment of his own, I moved in with him.

I think he wanted me to have a safe space anyway considering he got a two bedroom apartment rather than a one bedroom.

Usually, eighty percent of the time, Fuka stays with us, only going back to her house once in a while. Misaki doesn't mind, never complains.

He's the type to take in as many strays as he can. He's practically our legal guardian.

I hear he gets poked fun of at the station he works at. Living with two high-school girls doesn't look good so he had to explain our situation to the chief.

Not to mention covering for us whenever we're looking for Sora.

"Fuka, quit hiding." I called out as I walked on the sidewalk. The wind whipped a bit before she landed next to me.

"Man, that's no fun. This is why we don't play hide and seek. You cheat." She pouted childishly. I rolled my eyes at that.

Because of my Quirk, I can sense ions in living beings within a small distance.

It's something my step-dad had worked me into accomplishing. He's so fixated on perfecting my Quirk. Making my abilities expand and become great.

He's obsessed with it. It's not even because he wants me to become a Hero or a police officer.

He's a scientist.

He has a thing about Quirks and wants to prove that the Quirk Evolution process can be done, and with everyone. Even a normal girl like me.

I hate it.

Instead of heading towards school or even our usual hangout, we headed towards the train station. U.A. is pretty far away, and I don't want Fuka using a lot of her energy before a fight.

And God knows Sora is going to put up a fight.

"So, did you find out where USJ is by the school?" Fuka asked as we headed down the steps and towards the train. I reached into my bag and took out printed photos I swiped from Misaki's station.

"Yep. Misaki still has the same password he had when he was ten." My lips moved up in a smug smile.

Fuka giggled, taking the photos. "Really? 'GreenYaibaIsBoss'?" She managed to get out of her fits of laughter. I couldn't help chuckling as well.

There was this kids cartoon he was obsessed with, and the green one was his favorite.

We hopped onto the train, and much to my annoyance, it's crowded. Like most of the time.

Fuka looks at the photos and sighed, shaking her head. "I can't believe Sora-Nii is stupid enough to attack this school. To attack All Might." She spoke in hushed tones, so not to draw any attention our way.

Like we promised that villainous girl, we didn't tell anyone of the strike. For one, it's pointless because All Might is going to be there, and for two, we're not trying to get Sora arrested.

And it'd be pointless if some nosey person from the train overheard and called it in anyway.

I gently nudged my shoulder against hers. "That's why he has us. To beat the sense back into his fried brain." She smiled, not her go lucky smile she always has, but a genuine grateful smile. I returned it.

I'd do anything for Fuka, she's my best friend. The same applies to Sora. The three of us have been close ever since we were small; we have a special bond.

I'm not letting Sora's little teenage rebellion destroy that.

Even if I have to literally fry him.

The train ride took for-freaking-ever, but once we reached our stop I immediately fled the cramped area and walked swiftly towards the exit.

"Wait for me!" Fuka cried out as she ran after me. I slowed my long strides but kept on heading in the direction of the prestigious school. Soon Fuka caught up to me.

"Hey, we're a bit early, aren't we?" She asked. I shrugged a bit at that. "Eh, being early isn't the worst thing. Besides, we have to figure out a way into the school grounds."

She beamed at me and rummaged through her bag, pulling out a girly wallet. "I've got the perfect excuse! I know a girl, well, know of a girl, who goes there. Do you remember the Yaoyorozu's?"

My face scrunched up at the mention of the family. "You mean the 'King' and 'Queen'." I asked.

I met them once in passing. When Fuka had texted me to 'rescue' her from one of her parent's dinner parties.

Her parents weren't happy, but they never really are so they can suck it.

Besides, they only really seem to care when it's their image on the line. Freaking rich snobs.

She nodded, not at all phased by my attitude.

"Yep! That's them. Well their daughter goes there! All we have to say is that she forgot wallet, and then presto! We're in." I raised an eyebrow at her as we continued walking.

"What if they just take it and give it to her?" She freezes and I sigh.

Shaking her head she resumed walking. "Eh. We'll figure that out once we get there." She waved it off with a laugh.

I sighed loudly again. This is what happens when I leave it to her. Oh well, I'm sure it'll work out some way or another.

My muscles gradually became tense as my skin buzzed, ready for my adrenaline to start pumping. My body itches for a fight, as it always does when I'm close to getting Sora.

This time.

This time we'll get him.

We'll drag him back and things will go back to normal. Well, it'll be a start. Getting Sora to come to his senses will be as hard as it is to catch him.

The corner of my lip twitched up. Well, it's a good thing I like a challenge.

"Whoa. Anju . . . look." Fuka pointed up a bit and I followed her finger. A single droplet of sweat fell from my forehead as my eye twitched. "Looks like someone's got a little too much money."

We're still a bit aways, but U.A. popped above the rest of the buildings, looming over almost with a sense of cockiness.

They went overboard with this school. Damn rich people.

"Let's get this over with." I grumbled. Fuka nodded and we walked the rest of the way to the school.

As soon as we neared the gate, I sensed the security system works. Their electrical currents unmistakeable and similar to most high class businesses and homes.

I immediately spotted a camera and waved at it, hoping someone would see and check it out. And sure enough, my prayers were answered.

A teacher came out, or at least the gate guard. "Shouldn't you girls be in school?" He asked, eyeing our uniforms.

Fuka grinned and held up her bag, along with the wallet. "Hi! Yeah, but my friend left something behind and she really needs it. Yaoyorozu Momo?"

The teacher nodded, seeming more relaxed and offered a friendly smile. "I can give it to her for you. You two should head to your school."

Fuka's face morphed into conflict, trying to think on the fly. "Um, I really should give it to her personally." She tried.

The teacher just shook his head a bit. "I'm really not supposed to let anyone other than students and faculty inside."

"She's on her period and only uses special tampons." I stated bluntly. The man's eyes widened a bit at this.

"She can only use these special ones. You see, the lining of her uterine wall-"

"O-ok! I understand. You two can just quickly come in, but then you have to leave as soon as you give her the-uh-the tam-things." His mortified face reddened and he punched in a code on the other side of the gate.

The electrical currents were cut off and he motioned us to quickly come in. We did so and Fuka smiled at him. Thank you! We'll be quick." She lied.

He nodded, still red as a tomato and walked off towards the side.

He couldn't even look us in the eye. Guys don't really want to deal with anything related to a girls period. Freaks them out.

Wuss.

As soon as we were sure he wasn't looking, we strayed from the building. I took out the prints and looked around. "It should be this way." I said, pointing towards the north side.

Fuka nodded and we walked over. There's no need to hurry since there should still be time.

My blonde friend began to giggle. "So how would that story go?" She asked, insinuating the lie I told the guard.

I shrugged. "I don't know. Usually when I get 'uterine wall' out they desperately try to stop me. Guys are such pansies." She just giggled even more.

As we walked, I made sure to be on guard for anyone nearby, while also observing possible exit routes.

I doubt we'll be able to leave through the gate after what happens. Hopefully Fuka will have enough in her so we can fly out of here, their security systems shouldn't be able to stop us from that great of a height.

"Do you think we'll be able to get past the Heroes with Sora?" Fuka asked me curiously. Her voice, although cheery, holds some concern.

I shrugged a bit. "Shouldn't be a problem. They'll be focused on taking care of those villains and protecting their students. We should be able to slip past them no problem."

It'll be fine. We can handle it.  Just like we've handled it before.

We soon neared another large building, although not as big as the school itself.

USJ.

But something seems off. There's some electrical interference with the building. I grit my teeth. "Seems like the girl lied. They're already there." I stated grimly.

"Eh? For real?!" Sensing someone, I grabbed Fuka and dove off the path and into the bushes as someone raced past us. He was fast, so I didn't get the best look at him, but he seemed young. Maybe a student.

If he is a student, he's probably going to get the teachers, meaning more Heroes.

"We need to hurry." I told Fuka, running towards the building.

The building is large and in a dome shape. Much like the school, it's mostly composed of glass, but unlike the school, mainly towards the top.

I can vaguely sense a numerous amount of electric signals from inside, but I'm too far away to determine if any of them are Sora's, and that's even if I'm able to since most signals from living beings are the same.

I'm not sure if it's even possible, just hope that I'd be able to.

The door is shut, so I looked towards the top. As if reading my thoughts, Fuka's wind lifted us up and towards the top of the dome.

As soon as my feet touched the glass, I crouched down and peered inside.

Even from this great of a distance, I could see the situation down below fairly clear.

By the door is an entrance with a large staircase leading to what looks like a plaza of sorts. From there, there seems to be a different environment simulations.

A water zone with a ship in it, rocky mountains, ruins of buildings, a landslide area, and two more domes, one red with flames decorated on it, the other a dark gray with what looks like clouds.

It's like . . . natural disasters . . .

Oh, I see. This is either a lesson on fighting in any environment, or rescue in any situation. Pretty smart.

Although . .

I glanced at the entrance were a group of students were. Even from this distance I still recognize the wounded Hero they're hovering over. Thirteen. He's not looking good.

My gaze drifted towards the plaza like area where most of the Villains are out in the open. One of which stuck out because of his size.

A large, muscular, bird type guy. And he's looming over a broken bodied adult. The other teacher I presume. He is really beat up. I looked around a bit and frowned.

I spotted people in the water, on the mountain, the landslide, but I don't see All Might anywhere.

He could be in one of the dome areas or even in the wreckage of the abandoned buildings, but that seems unlikely.

He'd have saved his coworker first considering that he looks like he's about to croak. And Thirteen hasn't moved an inch, he might actually already be dead.

No, the Number One Hero isn't here like planned. Which means that these guys are actually in real danger.

"What should we do?" Fuka asked, concern in her voice.

I get why, but this isn't something we should meddle in. We're not Heroes, we're not even vigilantes. Not really.

We just use our Quirks for our own benefit, leaning towards the legal side.

Not to mention that the element of surprise is our best shot at getting Sora.

I don't see him in the plaza. He could be in a zone, which zone I'm not sure. Not the water one, but that's the only zone I can't say for sure.

If we do interfere and make a scene, the chances of catching Sora will be snipped.

My gaze slid to the teacher beneath the weird bird guy. His limbs are bent at unnatural angles, and blood pooled around his limp form. He won't last long. And he's a Pro. Which means these kids don't have a chance.

They'll die. Even I'm not heartless enough to let them die.

"God damn it." I growled.

Fuka giggled and we stood up. The bird guy got ready to strike the wounded Hero at his feet.

A slew of swears left my lips and I gestured towards the glass, my face pulled into a scowl. Without needing to ask, Fuka held her hand out and shot a strong blast of wind, shattering the glass we stood on.

While she used her wind to catch herself, I activated my Quirk and covered my body in electricity.

When I do this, I channel the electricity straight into my muscles and because of it, it enhances them, making me ten times stronger and faster.

I fell to the ground like a lightning bolt, cutting through the air with a crackle and as soon as I crashed into the ground, it broke apart with the intensity of it all.

Right between the broken Hero and the menacing foe that had done it to him, and was about to do it again.

The plan was to get in quietly, find Sora, and use the element of surprise to finally get him.

But because of this jackass the plan is ruined.

The eyes of the Villains and students by the entrance and in the water were forced to me with my grand entrance.

"Seems like you're itching for a beating. Allow me to deliver it." I glowered menacingly.

My annoyance is at an all time high. The urge to fry them all strongly pulsed in my mind.

Because of this prick, this is just another foiled plan to get Sora back.

I'm going to break every bone in his damn body.
