Chapter 1
I stared at the passing white clouds, drifting aimlessly through the vast, light blue sky. A lone bird flew overhead, making it seem even more endless.
A lazy breeze brushed against my skin and moved my light golden brown hair.
My gaze went to the streets below, my feet dangling over the ledge of the tall building I'm perched on. People moved about on their own accord, going about their day.
"Hey~!" A cheery voice sang. I tilted my head back to see Fuka skip on over. The light bounced off her long, wavy, golden locks almost making a halo form over her head. Her green eyes sparkling with mischief.
Much like myself, she wore our school uniform. Although we dipped out early, like usual.
"Any news?" I asked. Her eyes sparkled even more, her smile turning into a smug smirk. "The wind does carry secrets. Ishikawa is in a bar nearby. And he's seen him."
A smirk of my own stretched across my face and I stood up, barely on the ledge.
Shoving my hands into my jacket pockets, I stared at the ground, feeling some excitement.
How could I not?
We're close to finding him after all. "Let's go pay him a visit." I said, resisting the urge to smile like the cheshire cat.
Fuka grinned and saluted. "Aye Sir!" She cheered. I stepped off the ledge and began to fall when the wind whipped around me, making me float.
Fuka hopped onto her wind and began to lead us towards the bar she heard of.
If I have to travel around, I'd always do it with Fuka. She makes flying in the sky like a bird possible. It's freeing. Liberating even.
Flying is so calming, every trouble seems to just seep away. In some ways I'm envious of Fuka's Quirk.
"There it is." She pointed to a small, run down building down below. She lowered us down and in front of the bar. I stared at the chipped door with mild interest.
Man this place sure is run down. Why would he associate with anyone who comes here? Ishikawa is understandable, but not him. Man he sure lowered his standards, that's for sure.
"How you wanna do this?" Fuka asked me, her voice still as cheery and innocent as ever.
Almost like a normal girl.
Almost.
"Blow it down." I stated, placing a hand on my hip. She beamed and thrust her hand forwards, shooting a large blast of wind at it. The door immediately busted in, flinging straight into the bar top and cracking it upon contact.
There are only a few people in here. And all jumped at our sudden intrusion. My amber colored eyes locked onto one man in particular. He's leaning against the bar top, pressing himself into it.
I tilted my head a bit, analyzing him. His eyes are wide with fear. What a coward.
I stepped in and over some of the debris and strode towards him, eyeing him like prey. And he knows that I'm the predator.
Without any hesitation my hand shot out and grabbed him by the front of his shirt, yanking him closer to me. "Ishikawa, Ishikawa. Tsk, tsk." I shook my head.
He shook slightly but did his best to hide his fear. "A little birdie told me that you've been in contact with Sora. So you lied to me." He shook his head quickly.
"No. I didn't lie to you Raiden!" He began but I clenched the collar tighter, cutting off his words.
Fuka giggled from behind me, amused by the situation. "You shouldn't lie. Anju hates liars." She warned, her cheerfulness just scaring him at this point.
The other men in the bar avoided looking over at us. Well aware of us and our . . . history. I mean we're pretty well known around these parts.
And Ishikawa has the balls to lie to my face. Lying is bad with me. But lying about Sora?
I held up my free hand, palm up. Blue electric sparks dance across it and I slammed my hand against the bar top, shattering half the counter. "You should listen to her." I whispered.
It's deathly silent in the bar. The tensions thick and suffocating. "O-Okay. He came to me, but only a few days ago, I swear!" I allowed some sparks to dance across my hand holding his collar, giving him a tiny shock.
"Where is he?" I demanded. He swallowed the lump in his throat.
I tilted my head a bit. "Are you more afraid of him then you are of me?" I asked. The fear in his eyes prominent, his light orbs are wild.
Of course they'd be. Sora can be terrifying. But then again so can I. "Answer wisely." I warned.
He bit his lip before shutting his eyes tightly. "He asked me to join this gang that's forming. They're called the League of Villains." I raised an eyebrow. "I've never heard of them." Fuka frowned in confusion.
Neither have I. And we're always the first to hear about things like that.
"They haven't made their debut yet. But Sora joined. And he's looking for backup. B-But I told him there was no way."
I slammed him against the counter, eyes void of emotion. "I don't care if you join a band of losers. I want a location. Or I'll fry you."
His lip quivered and his breathing quickened. "I-I don't know where he is! I swear!" I coated my body in electricity and he cried out in pain since he's still in my grasp. "AHG! I swear to god I don't know where he is!" He cried.
I didn't stop. Only increased my electricity. The lights in the bar flickered madly as I increased them.
"I know where he will be though!" He managed to shout. To this I stopped my shocks.
He gasped, panting a bit. His hair is sticking up wildly and there's some burns across his throat due to the shocking.
"He-he said that they're going to hit big. They're after All Might. He recently became a teacher at U.A. So they'll strike him there."
I frowned. All Might? Sora isn't stupid enough to go after the Number One Hero. He's practically invincible. He's never lost a fight!
Sora. What the hell's going through your mind?
I released Ishikawa and he collapsed to the ground. "If he makes contact again, call me immediately. And don't even think about warning him." I glared down at the frightened man before turning and walking out.
"See you again Ishikawa!" Fuka called gleefully, walking out after me.
With a wave of her hand, she used the wind to move what little remains of the door back and leaned over the opening a bit.
She soon caught up and mached my strides. "So I guess we'll be paying U.A. a visit, huh?"
I groaned at her words. "Great. A school for wannabe Heroes. Should be fun." I stated, words dry. She laughed at my misery. I don't see how she's still happy.
We're not exactly model students. We always skip, hang around bad parts of towns, and we tend to use our Quirls for our own benefits. That's especially banned for normal students. We don't even go to a Hero school. How are we going to investigate the number one school?
This isn't going to be easy. Of course he'd make it so much more difficult. Sora always has to be a pain in my ass.
We've been looking for him for over a year, and each time we find him, he slips through our fingers. I'm not going to let him slip past me again.
They'll be attacking U.A. huh? When? How? I don't see how. All the teachers are Heroes, and there are a lot of kids with strong Quirks who train to fight Villains.
They must have a plan. I just don't know what. We need to gather some more information. Ishikawa wasn't much help, but he's a start. This town has no information for us, time to widen our search.
"Keep your ears open. We're expanding. From Kiyashi to Musutafu for now, then expand to Kabukicho and so on." Fuka pouted, head hanging a bit. "Eh? That's a lot~!" She complained.
I rolled my eyes at her. "Calm down. It's not like you'll do most of it. We'll use those others to help search. If we come up with nothing we'll go visit that damn school." My face scrunched in distaste.
I have nothing against Heroes, or anything like that. It's teenagers I have a problem with. Especially goody-goody's.
Our teachers and adults around us call me a delinquent, and they're not entirely wrong. Good-goody's and delinquents never go well with each other. Youths tend to agitate me despite being one myself.
"Why do you think he's going after All Might?" Fuka asked me, her usual cheerfulness laced with another emotion.
Concern.
I glanced at her from the corner of my eye. "I'm not sure. But I don't think it's his idea. He's with someone who must be packing some serious super weapon. Don't worry, we'll get him this time." I lightly bumped her shoulder with mine, making her smile lightly.
Finding Sora is top priority. Which is why we're never in classes and hanging around the shadier parts of cities.
He's running with bad crowds, mainly Villains.
"Oh. Inasa has been trying to get ahold of me lately." Fuka looked up, having just remembered it. I groaned.
I had never been the biggest fan of her hyperactive cousin. They use to be closer when they were kids, and even back then the little brat was annoying.
He's not a bad kid, just too much for me to handle. He's been trying to get in touch with Sora, not knowing of the situation.
"Well we gotta evade him. If he found out the loud idiot would neglect his studies and be right here with us."
Fuka smirked ever so slightly. "Awe! Anju, you're so caring." She giggled.
Annoyed, I punched her shoulder roughly making her yelp.
It's not because I like the kid or anything. It's just he's always wanted to be a Hero and I'm not going to let Sora, the guy who was once his best friend, ruin it for him.
Once I knock some sense into Sora he'd hold that over himself forever.
Fuka of course knows this.
I sighed, shoving my hands in the pockets of my jacket. "Well it's a good thing he decided to go to Shinketsu instead of U.A. Although visiting him at school would have been a good excuse for us to check things out."
She hummed in agreement, hands behind her back as she walked with a bounce in her step.
"Ah! There you two are!"
My eye twitched and the two of us wearily glanced back to see the all too familiar young cop. He's young, very young, at the tender age of nineteen. With golden brown hair with a sheen to it and blazing amber eyes, much like my own.
"I knew you'd be skipping classes again! You're going back to school-hey!" The two of us took off in a run, before Fuka's wind wrapped around us and allowed us to soar into the sky.
"Sorry Misaki, but I don't feel like it." I called down to his screaming figure.
Fuka giggled madly, amused as ever by his reaction. "Your cousin isn't happy." She giggled. I rolled my eyes, moving back so I was laying down on the wind as it carried us.
"He never is." I stated, relaxing myself as I stared up.
I'll get an earful from him later, but right now, I'm in the midst of a search. "Okay, let's get back to looking."
~
I cocked my head a bit, staring down the woman, trembling in pain before me. Three men lay defeated around us.
Fuka sat atop a dumpster, swinging her legs back and forth as she kept the wind around us whirling in a twister barrier of sorts.
The ground and vehicles around us are burned and shattered due to our little confrontation.
I smirked. "Let's try this again. When is your debut?" I repeated the question.
After a lot of sleuthing we managed to catch some criminals who claim to be apart of this 'League of Villains'. So naturally we tracked them down.
She kept her lips sealed. Alright then. Be that way.
"Fuka." I said loudly. "Okay~!" She replied, moving her hand up. Her wind picked up the girl and threw her high into the sky. She had moved her wind barrier enough so she could go even higher.
"You're attacking U.A. Going after All Might. We already know this. We just want to know when and how. If you don't, then Fuka here is going to let you drop. Let's see, from that height you could live, but that's a small chance. If you do, it'll just be your bones that'll be shattered, hell, maybe you'll even be paralyzed from the neck down. Not too bad, since you sure like your Quirk."
I cast my glance at her hair, which she had the ability to control and make it into a fist of sorts.
She looked down at the ground, fear clear on her face, her chest moving quickly as she began to hyperventilate.
"It's okay to tell us. We're not going to tell anyone." Fuka smiled up at her as if this were a normal conversation.
We made sure to talk loud enough over the roaring wind and the different heights. The woman looked petrified.
I glanced at Fuka and nodded. Her smile never faltering, she dropped her hand to her side and the woman descended towards the ground like a rock.
Her scream ripped into the air like a jagged knife, only to halt when she nearly reached the ground. "OKAY!" She shouted and Fuka's hand twitched, catching her millimeters from the asphalt.
I smiled, but not a kind one, walking over to her and crouching down.
"You going to answer now?" She nodded, her face had gone ghostly pale and her lips trembled. I could see it in her eyes that she had realized true terror.
"He-he's- next week. A-All Might is going to be teaching a class at this USJ building or something! It's far enough from the rest of the school and there will only be three Heroes there. He's got this whole thing all figured out." Her voice shook, her terror never leaving her.
"I need an accurate time and date." I stated, not bothering with her fear.
Tears slipped past her lashes but she whispered it nonetheless. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" I asked, standing up with a cold smile.
Fuka released her wind and she softly fell to the ground. "Now, I trust you won't be stupid enough to tell any of your friends what happened here?"
Fuka hopped off the dumpster and walked over to stand next to me.
"We're not going to tell the Heroes or anything. Promise. We just want to see one of your members. You see, we've been looking for him for a while. So if you tipped them off, that'd be a big inconvenience." In the last of Fuka's words, there was a sharp warning.
So very unlike Fuka.
The girl looked up at us with frightful eyes. I crouched down so I could stare straight into her teary eyes.
"I'd listen to her. You shouldn't keep a girl from her big brother."
