The Daily life of the Roy Chowdhury's

Early morning at 5:30 am Trilochon curses himself as he woke up late for the pooja(veneration). He arrives downstairs hurriedly cursing himself but stops seeing the beautiful girl preparing for the pooja dressed in a simple saree along with a thick smudge of Sindoor(vermilion) on her parting. Her simple look makes TRC think of her as a goddess that he worships every moment.

"Bahu, thank god, you prepared everything so well, We are so blessed to have you in our lives"- his words makes the girl turn her head and smile at him in a serene way. Without replying she in her alluring voice starts the pooja. Her voice makes the other members of the family get up to join the pooja.

One by one, Binoy, Sampoorna, Somnath and Batuk stands behind the two members of the family closing their eyes in prayer when lastly Anirudh crashes with Batuk in a race to join the pooja before his mad kaka realizes his late arrival. He shushes Batuk when he teases him by looking him straight in the eyes and then he gets busy admiring his fairy of a wife.

Her simple look makes him get lost in her so much that he nearly misses the end of the pooja if not for the nudging of Somnath.

Trilochon takes one look at him and screams like a banshee, "Nalayak, you can't even be bothered to take a bath before joining us! Do our faith matters so little to you. Nawabzaade kahike".

Anirudh gets ready to scream back at him citing his reasons when a soothing voice interrupts their fight. "Patibabu, please don't argue with Kakasasur ji without any of his fault early in the morning and Kakasasur ji, do forgive him. We should be happy that he joined us. We can't expect him to change himself for our sake"- her words make the two loudspeakers of the haveli shut themselves up.

While Anirudh wonders whether his little wife saved him or insulted him in front of the entire family.

Bondita Roy Chowdhury don't scream like her husband nor does she preach like her Kaka sasur ji but she in a very calm voice uses logic to shut people up. It is her this ability that makes the men in her family listen to her like little children listen to their mothers.

"Aww Boudi, Why did you shut them up, you made me miss my morning dose of entertainment"- Batuk's words make him the recipient of Bondita's smack in the head while Somnath and her Patibabu grins evilly at his punishment.

"Batuk complete your homework that you left yesterday. I am going to the kitchen to make breakfast. Remember, we have to take a detour to Amrit's house to pick her and Uday up for school".

Her words make Anirudh scowl as he remembers Uday, the bane of his existence. He was honestly happy when Amrit from Lahore joined Bondita in her school, he was relived that his little angel will not be alone in a school full of boys but his happiness evaporated when he noticed the stupid boy with them.
Uday Sahani became his enemy no. 1 when he begun to join them on their way to school every morning. The boy was a good hockey player which meant Bondita had to stay back in school sometimes along with Amrit and Batuk to watch his practice due to their friendship and it also made her arrival home a little later than usual.

Anirudh wishes his kaka was strict again in the case of Bondita as the old bachelor of the family makes no trouble when Bondita visits Sahani's home or when they visit the haveli from time to time. Maybe his kaka was also happy that his bahu had finally got a good female companion which Sampoorna could never be.

Anirudh's monologue is cut short when the smell of coffee wafts though the air.

He hurriedly goes to his room as he knows he will be receiving his coffee in the last and he also wants to admire her alone in the confines of his room.

Trilochon looks at his bahu who gives him his special "Gud Wali Chai" with a smile on her face. As he sees her walk out of his room he remembers that young girl who never use to stop talking at all in any situation. Her quietness is a sign of her maturity but he wonders often why did this maturity had to come at the cost of her tears and heartbreak.

Anirudh's wait gets over when there is a knock on his door along with the sound of her anklets.

"Patibabu, here is your coffee. Get ready soon, remember today you have a important case hearing. You have to leave early"- her sweet reminder makes him get lost in the deep sea of her eyes. His trance gets broken when she shakes him a little.

"Thank you Bondita for reminding me"- his reply makes her nod at him in reply and she walks out of his room. Anirudh for a moment remembers the young girl who used to talk about just everything with him. He can't match that little girl with this one at all. The girl who used to consider him her universe these days don't even talk with him more than necessary. She ties her shoelaces herself, studies on her own without asking him for help as she asks all her doubts to her teachers at school. He can't even complain at all about her grades as she has not let her first position get snatch up at all from her grasp.

Isn't It what he wanted! For her to be an independent person who doesn't rely on him? Then why does her non reliant behavior makes him want to cage her in his arms. He longs for the days when she used to wait for him to tie her shoelaces and used to come to him for her every little problem. Nowadays she even asked him to teach her how to make her "Menstrual Pads" herself. Anirudh strictly denied her request as it was the last semblance of his control on her day to day life. He can't let that go.

His thoughts comes to a stop hearing Batuk telling Bondita to get ready fast and check his homework for him. Anirudh frowns hearing Bondita's reply to him as she is so free with him, his little brother and so reserved with him, her own husband.

What he didn't realize was it is his own words and actions that forced her to behave in this way.
