His first step, Her passive behavior

"Where is Bondita and Batuk? It's way past their school time"- Anirudh's question is met with a frown from the rest of the family sitting in the living room. Seeing no one answering him, his irritation grew.

Here he was, thinking of spending special time with his Bondita and here, She were missing. He even came home early today from court. Getting bewildered looks from his associates as he leaves the court always late due to his workaholic nature.

Finally, Somnath answered him, "Dada, don't you remember, today Uday and even our Batuk has a hockey match and they are all staying back to watch their match".

Anirudh's hands clench at his sides and his veins at his forehead looks ready to burst, hearing the reason of her being late.

Somnath smirks at Anirudh. Finally, 'his dear dada' is tasting jealousy. He honestly finds it entertaining to watch him struggle with his feelings for his Boudi these days.

And poor Boudi, don't even realize his dada's struggles. She remains oblivious to Anirudh's various ways of trying to be close with her. Along with the other members of the family.

Everyone thinks of Anirudh as some monster, who don't even consider Bondita his wife. Only he knows what kind of looks he give her.

His gaze gets constantly stuck on her at the dining table. He brings trinkets for her almost every week. And Somnath even saw him writing poetry for her and reciting it for her in the darkness of his study. All the while, his Bondita Boudi was in her room revising.

He had checked himself.

Nowadays, he even matches his shirts with her sarees on special occasions. Which, no one seems to notice. What a lack of observation skill his family have! Somnath thought to himself.

It was quite embarrassing to see his Dada behaving in such a lovestruck manner. He thought to himself with a little smile on his face.

"Kaka, I am going to collect Bondita from school and take her somewhere. We'll come home late"- Anirudh doesn't wait for his reply and storms out of the Haveli.

Trilochon at Anirudh's hurricane exit,  screeched like the male banshee that he is.

"Gadha bagar billa, don't even wait for our permission. How will I do my veneration without my Bondita bahu? Who will listen to what I heard at the Panchayat now?"-Binoy and Somnath shakes their heads at his hysterics.

"Honestly, his da is the biggest obstacle in Anirudh's story. With his constant interfering in their every activity, maybe he was Anirudh's enemy or lost love in the previous birth"- Binoy thought exasperatedly.

Binoy smirked then, as Anirudh's car roared to life, it seems finally Anirudh's patience regarding Bondita's silence is broken.

He adjusted his chashma (glasses) and starts reading the newspaper again. He pays no more attention to them. As he is not so noisy like his Trilochon da.

Anirudh starts driving his car, all the while thinking about taking Bondita out to eat something delicious without the interference of their family.

In reality, he was thinking about how to make His Bondita forget about that boy feeding her "Their Roshogolla". And make her only remember him and his time with her.

Anirudh reached the school 10 minutes later. After parking his car, he noticed the school was almost empty and silent except for the loud sounds coming from the ground. And he instantly knew where his beloved wife was.

He reached the grounds and almost reached the peak of his jealousy, seeing his Bondita cheering Uday and Batuk as they were playing in the field.

Today, even Batuk was playing hockey as he was the reserved hockey player. Anirudh was happy for his brother but hated seeing Bondita cheering so loudly for them.

His little wife was so serene at home. She rarely talked loudly anymore, always replying to his inquiries in a passive voice that Anirudh had accepted as a part of her growing up. 

But seeing her so carefree made him want to shake her up and ask her, "Bondita, why don't you behave freely with me? Aren't I your universe! Do you not lov..." His monologue comes to a halt when suddenly a hockey ball comes and lands at his feet.

This event catched the attention of everyone present. And Anirudh simply throws the ball back to the player and goes to stand with Bondita.

Amrit greets him first, while Bondita remains dumbstruck seeing him here, at her school, leaving the premises of his court or study.

"Jeeja ji (Brother in law), what are you doing here today at our school?- Amrit's question makes Anirudh smirk and he answers teasingly while looking at Bondita,

"Well, I am here to take Bondita somewhere. But it seems your friend is not interested at all"- his words make Bondita hurriedly defend herself.

"No Patibabu, What gave you the idea of it?"- Bondita's answer makes Anirudh very happy as now Bondita will not be able to deny going with him. As she is too careful to not offend him after growing up it seems.

"Then, my dear wife, shall we?"he asks with a deep bow like the foreigners, his gesture makes Amrit giggle nonstop and Bondita becomes astonished at his act in public. As Anirudh is behaving too nicely with her. 'His responsibility'.

Since, when did she became his "Dear wife"?  She schools her face in her usual mask and replies with a small smile gracing her face, all the while feeling apprehensive on the inside.

She simply walks ahead of him after telling Amrit to inform Batuk and Uday about her sudden departure.

While, Anirudh scowls at her passive behaviour.

"Again, she is putting barriers between us, ugh; Don't worry little wife, you will soon be laughing freely with me"- Anirudh thought determinedly as he raced to catch up with his Bondita.

All the while, Amrit prayed to God to keep her best friend happy. Anirudh today coming to school and taking the initiative made her have a little hope for their future.

"God, please keep them happy and together"- she prayed and quickly turned to cheer her dear brother and friend like enemy Batuk. Who remained oblivious to Bondita's sudden little time alone with her husband.

As Anirudh and Bondita sat in the car and started their journey, Bondita was very nervous to ask him where they were going?

She had never been alone in the car with Anirudh the last few years. She always made sure there was a third person with them.

But today, she was very nervous to be in the car with him. He was behaving in a weird manner for the last few days.

First caressing her feet and sweet talking her, and now this! She was scared to think of his next madness involving her.

Actually, She was scared for her little heart. After a lot of difficulties she had been able to get rid of her feelings. She can't afford to feel them again. She thought with a pretty frown on her beautiful face.

All the while, Anirudh was smiling thinking of the amazing time they will spend together. He could imagine the smile on her face at his surprise.

He didn't know when he started whistling slowly. His whistling startled Bondita and she looked at him in a shocked manner. All the while, Anirudh simply gave her a wide smile and continued whistling.

He wanted to be her carefree 'Birristra babu' today. He wanted to be someone she can laugh with. He wanted to be her 'Sakha babu' today, On this first date of theirs.

One of the many to come.

"Patibabu, where are we going? Batuk will feel neglected. We should have probably taken him with us"- Anirudh's irritation grew on hearing Bondita's words to him.

Here he was, thinking of taking her to  spend alone time together. And there was his Bondita, thinking of involving his idiot brother.

Who would she invite next? His Kaka with his pot of 'Ganga Jal' to utter his constant Shiv shiv shiv...and interrupt their date!

"My beautiful wife, today is simply for both of us. So, throw away the thoughts inviting anyone else from your mind. This is our time. Hmmm..." his words make Bondita again doubt his mental state.

While, Anirudh enjoyed seeing the flush on Bondita's face at the words "beautiful". Honestly, 'His Bondita' is too cute"- he thought with a smile and resumed his whistling.

Hearing his words, all Bondita thought that maybe, she was having a long dream from which she would wake up very soon.
