Chapter seven
Class 1-A went through English class feeling like they're gonna go death with how energetic he was, well...all except Denki who was just vibing with the energy Present Mic was giving off. Bakugo, who can no longer handle loud noises anymore due to living with his mother, covered his ears, putting his head on his desk, doing his best to drown out the noise, hoping to just get notes from Midoryia after class. Midoriya, who had sensed something was wrong turned to look at Bakugo and frowned, knowing he couldn't handle loud noises sighed, not really sure how to help. He knew Bakugo was going to get mad if he disrupted the class and brought the attention to him, but he knew the attention would turn to him sooner or later, however, he also didn't want it to escalate to where it was too late.
Bakugo bit his lip to keep from crying out and pulled his knees to his chest, afraid of the consequences of disrupting the class. He curled up into a ball as much as the desk would let him, hoping no one would notice. He felt tears start to slide down his face as he squeezed his eyes shut tightly, his legs started to feel heavy like lead as he held his breath to keep from breathing loudly. Midoryia's eyes widened as he saw Bakugo get into this position and immediately raised his hand, causing Present Mic to stop his lecture and call on Midoriya.
"Do you think you could quieten down during the lesson please?"
"Is there a reason you're asking me this?" Present Mic asked, placing down the marker he was holding, sensing something was wrong.
"It's not a request for myself so I can't exactly tell you the reason right now, but I'd be willing to tell you in private!" Midoryia exclaims, rambling on, hoping Present Mic doesn't get mad, he really didn't want to get in trouble.
"Ok, I understand, I will lower my voice but I expect an explanation after class." Present Mic says, scanning the room, looking for any signs of discomfort, "and to the student it's bothering, I implore ask that you come to me about it soon, it doesn't have to be right after class or at all, but I ask that you do so soon," he says, continuing the lesson, talking at a regular voice, however, he still had a bit of a pep to it.
The rest of the class looked around and started to whisper, trying to figure out who it was bothering, they had already ruled out Bakugo because they figured he just didn't want to pay attention in class, but little do they know that ruling out Bakugo was the wrong move, for it was in fact for Bakugo. They didn't know what signs to look for so they never did figure it out, especially since Present Mic silenced them, forbidding them to talk about the subject unless the student in question specifically came up to them to talk to them about it.
Bakugo, who had heard everything started to feel like a shitty person, he didn't want this, he didn't want anyone to have to change anything just because he can't handle everyday situations, he thought something was wrong with him, like he didn't deserve to be surrounded by people that was willing to understand him. He bit his lip and just kept his head on the desk, trying to calm himself down as continued to try and slow down his breathing. It always took him a few minutes to calm himself down.
Kirishima and Denki started to talk as soon as Present Mic was done with his lecture, they were talking about random topics which kept on changing because they couldn't seem to focus on one topic while doing their classwork. "So, you doing anything after school?" Kiri asks, changing the topic once again.
"Not sure, why do you ask?" Denki asks, curiously.
"Just making conversation," Kiri shrugs, looking at the question on his paper, "what did you get for number five?"
Uh I got... " Denki trails off, looking down at his paper, "I got an adjective." Kiri, who was struggling with the answer, thanked Denki and quickly wrote down the answer, moving onto number six, not wanting to do any of it after school. Denki nodded, giving Kiri a small, flirty smile. Unfortunately, Kiri just thought it was a regular smile and just shrugged it off.
Mina and Jiro were busy gossiping about what happened earlier in class, trying to figure out who it was since Mina was nosey and good at talking others into following her lead. "Did it look like anyone was having a mental breakdown during class to you? I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, " Mina mutters.
"I wasn't really paying attention, " Jiro shrugs, not really in the conversation. Jiro wasn't a fan of gossiping, especially since she wouldn't want someone talking about her like that.
"Aww, you didn't see anything either?" Mina pouts, "maybe invisible girl whose name I forgot saw something!"
"You mean Hagakure?" Jiro asks, frowning in disapproval.
"Yeah, her!" Mina exclaims, her eyes lighting up.
"I don't know, she might of saw something," Jiro shrugs, "but does it really matter?"
"Of course it does! I wanna know what happened!" Mina exclaims, pouting slightly, causing Jiro to roll her eyes.
"Ok, just leave me out of the drama, I don't even know how there's drama on the first day anyways!"
"Who knows, and anyways you're no fun!" Mina exclaims.
"Whatever, I just don't want any bad blood between me and the others, " Jiro explains.
"Oh that's nonsense, I'm sure there won't be any bad blood! Anyways, I'll talk to Hagakure after class!" Mina exclaims, causing Jiro to just sigh and shake her head, knowing that she won't be able to talk any sense into her.
Hagakure turned to face Ojiro who had tapped her on the shoulder, or at least he hoped he did, "yes?" She asks, in a whisper, since they were still in class.
"Just wanted to introduce myself, it doesn't seem like many people are actively trying to have a conversation with you," Ojiro explains.
"Oh that's very sweet of you but you don't have to bother yourself with it, I'm used to people not even attempting to talk to me."
"Well, what if I told you I wanted to talk to you," Ojiro says, smiling softly.
"If you really want to make conversation, I won't stop you." Hagakure responds, smiling, even if he couldn't see her smile.
"Sounds good to me, um what question are you on?"
"Fifteen, you?" Hagakure asks.
"Fifteen? I'm only on gen, how are you almost done?" He asks, bewildered.
"I don't know, I guess I just work fast," she says, shrugging. She knew no one could see her but she still did the motions. She also didn't know that Ojiro could tell what motions she's making, even though he can't see her, it honestly felt like a sixth sense to him.
He just nodded and smiled, "so what are some of your hobbies?"
"I really like watching dokkiri shows and painting!" She says, happily, she couldn't believe someone was actually talking to her.
Ojiro smiles, he thought they were cute hobbies. "Those are nice hobbies. Do you do them often."
"Not really, I don't have a whole lot of free time," Hagakure responds.
"Oh? Why's that? If you don't mind me asking."
"I babysit after school for extra cash. My hobbies are expensive."
"That's really cool of you!" Ojiro exclaims, in awe that she could handle all that plus school.
"What about you? Do you have any hobbies?"
"I really like martial arts!"
"Woah, really? Do you use your tail in martial arts? I'm sure it'd come in very handy!"
"I do actually," Ojiro gives a small smile, "would you like to hang out after school one day this week, if you aren't babysitting?"
"Sure! That sounds like it'd be a lot of fun!" Hagakure exclaims, she was absolutely ecstatic that someone was actually attempting to be friends without being forced.
About thirty minutes later, class was dismissed and it was time for their next class. While heading, Bakugo walked up to Midoryia, brushing his side, giving him the signal before heading off to the roof.
Midoriya, knowing what direction he was headed, followed, making sure not to be suspicious, since he'd probably end up skipping his next class, which wouldn't look good on him since it's only the first day, but he didn't care, he just wanted to help Bakugo. One on the roof, Midoryia turned to Bakugo, "are you ok?"
"No, I'm not ok? I had a breakdown in the middle of class, what if someone saw?" Bakugo mutters, starting to shake, he was having a slight anxiety attack over having a panic attack.
"Hey Kacchan, calm down!" Midoryia exclaims, "I don't think anyone realized it was you, don't worry."
"Why did you even bring attention to it, Deku? I could have managed."
"Kacchan...I'm sorry, but I don't think you could have. It seemed really bad and it looked to just be getting worse, and that was honestly the most discreet way to help!"
Bakugo bit his lip, looking at the ground, knowing Midoryia was right, "I guess, but now people are gonna be curious about who it was!"
"It'll be ok, I'm sure no one will question it, and if they do, I won't hesitate to beat their asses!" Midoryia exclaims, a dark aura surrounding him.
"Woah Deku, calm down!" Bakugo exclaims, "this isn't like you! If anyone was to beat their assess, it'd be me!"
"Would you really beat their asses though? Or would you just talk about doing it, then walk away?" Midoryia asks, calling him out. He knew the way Bakugo talked is actually just a front, on the inside, he's actually nice and warm.
"Of course I would!" He growls, rolling his eyes.
"Ok Kacchan," Midoryia says, looking him up and down, "anyways, are you feeling better?"
"A little, just hungry and tired," Bakugo responds.
"Do you want to skip the next class and get something to eat?"
"No, people might realize I'm the one that had the breakdown, we should get back to class."
"Are you sure you'll be ok?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine." He nods, making his way down the stairs, Midoriya following suit. Midoryia was honestly worried about his friend, but he knew how stubborn Bakugo could be and knew better than to try.
Sero and Candy were talking, waiting for class to start when Mina walked up to them, "do yall know who broke down in the middle of class? I'm having a hard time figuring out who it was," She pouts.
"What does it matter?" Sero asks, frowning.
"I'm just curious!"
"It doesn't matter who it was! Everyone struggles with stuff in their personal lifes! You shouldn't pry into it just to make fun of them or to just gossip about them!" Candy exclaims, a little triggered over what Mina was saying.
"I'm not going to make fun of them for it!"
"No, you just want to gossip right? That's even worse!" Candy exclaims. " You know it's sad that you have to gossip about others and make them feel bad about themselves just to make yourself feel better!"
"I-" Mina says, cutting herself off, she really wasn't sure how to respond and honestly Sero was just as shocked. He didn't know Candy had that in him, although he did just meet Candy today, so that's to be expected.
"Ok, I'll let it be, jeez." Mina mutters, rolling her eyes. "It's not like I planned on blackmailing him." This did however give Mina something to think about and reflect on.
Candy sighed and looked away from Mina, stuff like this really tended to trigger him, "you good?" Sero ass, concerned.
"Fine," Candy responds, he really wasn't in the mood to converse anymore.
"Oh alright," Sero nods, not really sure what to say anymore.
A few minutes later, Bakugo and Midoryia walk into the classroom, making sure not to seem friendly since they are still playing 'Redemption.' Everyone else also filed into the classroom, mostly in paris. The class dragged on, nothing eventful happening and soon the school day eventually came to an end. Since school had ended, Bakugo rushed out of the building and made a direct hit home. His mother expected him to be home within fifteen minutes, even though U.A. was a thirty minute walk. He knew she didn't care about that though, she would find any reason to punish him. Midoryia lived right beside him, so Midoryia quickly caught up to him, "hey kacchan! Wanna walk home together?"
"Mom will kill you if she sees us walking together!" Bakugo hisses, rolling his eyes, "she hates you!"
"What if we part ways a block from the house?"
"I would but I only have ten more minutes to get home, we can meet up before school tomorrow though!" Bakugo calls out, starting on a jog.
"Oh alright," Midoryia mutters, watching Bakugo jog off, wishing their life was different. He wanted to have a normal friendship but he knew that wouldn't happen, not until Bakugo escapes his mother, plus they'd also need to stop playing their game. As a child, Midoryia thought it'd be a good idea but as he got older, he realized how stupid it actually was, and this was all on his mind as he walked home.
Bakugo got home fifteen minutes later, thankful his mom wasn't home since he was a little late. He knew he'd have to get faster at jogging. He went to his room to start his homework, afraid of the time that his mother would get home.
