{•Lynette•}

I ran out of the manor and into the garden and nearly tripped, but held on to a nearby column of the entrance.

"They just didn't have a choice.....
They had to protect their
little princess-"

I sobbed uncontrollably, trying to overcome the shock as the voices told before by the Visigoth's flooded my head.

"Well, you were right my love....
The resemblance is quite
uncanny...... They always
did say she looked alot like me..."

"... Even if you're the rightful heir!"

"No... No no no no no no...." I sobbed as I tried to calm down. "It's not true, it's not true it's not true.... It can't be true... No no no no....."

"You have no idea what I know about you, Lynette.... If that's even what your name should be....."

"Its a shame.... You look like her, yet..... That same look you have for me right now... Those same eyes.....
You got from that bastard father
of yours....."

He... He didn't mean Lilith.... H-He meant Eloise....

My mother.... She... She wanted me... As did my father....

"Come now, Alice... You're a
smart girl... You've made it this
far in Wonderland, haven't you?
What do the clues you've gained
along your way here tell you?"

The bassinet in my dreams. The missing child. The woman giving birth. My birthmark. The Visigoth taunts....

Only they weren't taunts....

"What a shame that my own granddaughter becomes a
vampire's little whore...."

I cried out uncontrollably, already l feeling pain in my stomach, as Alexander's words echoed in my head, now with sense.

I.... I did have a family....

My mother.... My father.... I even have uncles.....

No... Its broken... Destroyed before it ever even began...

My family... My life... All a lie since the very beginning....

"If Elizabeth....... gave birth
and the child disappeared
during the fires...

".....Add to that you also
having the Visigoth mark,
there's a possiblity that you
could be that child....."

N-No... My god....

My mother, she... She's dead...

My father, he's missing.... What if he's dead, too...??

Me..... W-Where does leave me?

"I never said you
were Alister's child..."

I felt myself breathing hard and before I knew it, I felt bile coming up my throat and threw up over the railing.

I coughed as I tried to breath, feeling tears pouring out of my eyes, everything in me shaking and hurting.

"I'm so sorry...."

I coughed out a sob as I hear the voice in my head speak, and then suddenly heard footsteps and managed to look to see Remington run over to me

He stopped and stood by me, holding my hair back as I tried to calm down, rubbing my back and holding me up.

"Its okay... Its okay... Just let it out, just let out," he tried as he then grabbed the hankerchief from his jacket pocket and helped clean my face with it.

I cried as I tried to breath easily. "I-It was all true...."

"Oh, Lynette...." He murmured, holding me. "Lynette, I'm so sorry....."

I sobbed as I looked up at him.

"I-Is that even my name at all now?" I cried.

He frowned and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me as I cried.

"R-Rem, I... I don't even know who I- Who I am anymore......" I wailed as he then pulled me into his arms. "I-I don't...."

"Shhhh, its okay," he murmured softly, stroking my back and holding me against him as I cried into his chest. "Its going to be okay... We're going to figure this all out....."

"R-Remington, I..." I cried as I clung to him. "I-I had a family......."

"I am so so sorry, love..... I can't even begin to imagine how this making you feel....." he said sadly. "I know you wanted answers, but I never expected them to be this shocking...."

"M-My whole life, I hated my own parents.... I... I-I thought they left me for dead, a-and I was alone...." I sobbed. "Turns out, they.... They just didn't have a choice..... T-They were trying to protect me, and I.... I hated them...."

"There was no way you could have known any of it...." he assured.

"A-And my mother, she.... She never even got the chance to hold me....." I sobbed, my chest beginning to hurt.

Remington pulled me back into a hug, as I felt my knees go weak and slowly collapsed to the ground with him, crying uncontrollably as Remington held me, trying to calm me down.

I heard more footsteps and then Leda was in front of me.

"O-Ohh..." Leda said in shock. "My good lady.... We're so sorry....."

I couldn't even speak... All I could do was cry as Leda knelt down close and held my hand as Remington held me, his lips on my forehead as he tried to comfort me.

"My lord.... We should get her to her room..." Leda soon said to Remington.

Remington looked at her sadly, then nodded and scooped me up in his arms.

I cried into his shoulder as I clung to him.

What's going to happen now....?

{•Sebastian•}

I paced a bit across the room in deep thought while everyone stood around processing things.

This entire time.... I never even realized..... God, how could I have known anyway? How could any of us have known?!

The young orphan girl we rescued on Earth, who was living in my home, mated to my own brother...... Turned out to be a long lost princess that didn't even know existed until recently... Let alone anyone else in the whole realm

And yet, she is the key to defeating the cause of our empire's destruction...

Just then, Damiano, Austin and the others walked in, stopping as they saw Alister and Hermes, as well as everyone else.

"Samuel!?" Austin gasped.

"Hello, Austin..." Samuel nodded as Austin rushed over and they gripped each other's right forearm in greeting. "Its been a while...."

"I can clearly see we missed something important," Damiano said, raising an eyebrow as he observed the scene before him.

"Oh, you have no idea," Emerson said.

Alister picked up Lynette's necklace from the ground and held in in his hands as he observed it, Hermes walking over to him.

"I can't believe she really is alive..." Alister said, looking upset. "All these years, we took her for dead.... Damn it all, we should have jsut kept looking...!"

"Calm yourself, brother..." Hermes said, his hand on Alister's shoulder.

"What has happened?" Ethan asked as they walked into the room more.

"Turns out, Lynette was the answer to everything," Andrew said. "Or, in this case... Dream.... Princess Dream of Lieseil...."

Everyone's eyes widen in surprise. "What?" Thomas asked in shock.

"Dream Rosalind is the daughter of Eloise and Bartholomew, and niece to the Warhol brothers," Victoria explained. "Also granddaughter of Alexander and Lilith Visigoth...."

"My god," Austin said in disbelief.

"This explains our findings then..." Thomas said, reaching into his pocket and pulling something out. "The grave where the child was buried was empty. This, however, was found in the coffin.

He held up in his hand and I realized what it was.

"An infant's rattle?" I asked.

"With the Lieseil Inc. seal on it," he said, handing it to Larisa as she walked over, Thomas giving it to her.

She examined it closely.

"To our little star, from Momma & Poppa," she read, looking up sadly, her eyes watery. "My god... They were never even given a chance...."

"This proves it all then..." Victoria added. "Duchess Lynette is Dream Rosalind Lieseil... A Lost Princess no one even knew existed, but was destined to rule us....."

"Damn it.... So, Alexander wasn't completely insane with his rantings.... Lynette really is a princess... Royalty beyond even us...." Emerson said, leaning against a chair in disbelief as we all processed the revelation.

"Descendant of a Warhol, a Visigoth and a Lieseil," Andrew said. "What are the odds of that?"

"Mio Dio.... Her blood cannot be anymore blue," Damiano said, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Lieseil hid his tracks really well..." Larisa said. "We wouldn't have even known he was involved if it weren't for that necklace...."

Victoria sighed and looked over at the Warhol's.

"Ehi... Vecchio... You did not suspect anything with these photographs from that winged rat?" Victora snapped sternly as she examined the surveillance photos that Warhol had bought. (Hey... Old man...)

"Victoria," Damiano scolded. "Remember who you are speaking to..."

"Its fine... And no, viscountess," Alister said. "Not until we saw that the fallen angel Lilith and Alexander hired was tracking her, we had no idea.... However, our niece was shielded well, since this necklace was also enchanted to protect her from any and all harm and other worldly view, blessed by a High Priestess now retired, Maria...Hence why Bartholomew gave it to her when he sent her away from Obsidian...."

"I knew Maria.... She was my teacher," Genevieve said.

"Precisely.... Lieseil had her make this for his child as protection, for the true heir of Obsidian," Hermes added. "The plan was created and made top secret once the Visigoth's found out about Eloise and Bartholomew... Another reason Alexander escaped prison..."

"Its why our parents were involved as well... They knew that Eloise's baby was a union of the founding families, making her a powerful heir," I said. "They protected her...."

"Precisely.... We had to protect her, which lead to the plan of sending her to a hidden realm," Alister said.

"Earth would have been the last place they checked, so we all agreed on that," Hermes said. "So Bartholomew sent her there with the necklace."

"It was mostly as a way to identify her, that only her blood relatives would know..... We were hoping by her 18th birthday to be able to find her at the location where she was left... Bring her back home to assume her throne and prepare her...." Hermes said. "Until..."

"She moved states and aged out of the orphanage system on Earth...." Shy said. "Then ended up with her abuser..."

"Add to that the foster systems in the Earth realm almsot always lose track of children, and Lynette was no exception... Especially when she was moved to different places," Emerson said.

"I can't imagine how this has her.... Her whole life just flipped in an instant..." Larisa said, still in shock as she looked down at the rattle before looking up at me as I placed my hand on her back, comforting.

"How could the fallen angel have found her?" Thomas asked.

"Unfortunately, fallen angels are expert trackers, and immune to a priestess's cloaking spells.... When they have a scent, they'll find something out of place, like a bloodhound," Hermes said, then took the necklace and held it up. "Despite it only being meant for her to be seen by blood relatives like us..... To them, it was a dead giveaway that she was different... We managed to learn that he tracked her when she was transfered..."

"He must have had been ordered to not capture her just yet, or he would have grabbed her once she turn 18..." Emerson said. "Alexander must have wanted information for blackmail or something...."

"Or they realized the Warhol Stars were on to them, and had to hold back to avoid getting caught...." Thomas added.

"Its what we concluded... Once we learned a fallen angel was involved, we had spies from the Warhol Stars investigating.... That's when we realized what was going on, and managed to attempt sabatoge," Alister said. "However, we lost track of her when that snake, Prophet, found out we were lurking and retreated.... Just as we found out Dream's last location, despite it being outdated to an old orphanage...."

Before anything else can be said, Leda then walked into the room, a solemn look in her face as she bowed quietly.

"Leda.... How is she?" Larisa said urgently.

"A-As you would expect, your majesty.... Our duchess.... Sorry, Princess.... She's very heartbroken, and confused.... Lord Remington is with her now...." she said. "I gave her some tea to help her sleep."

I sighed quietly and looked down.

She was just getting better after we bought Remington back.... Now I can't imagine what this shocking revelation is doing to her....

"I'll go check on her," Larisa said, placing the rattle in her pocket. "We shall discuss this later... This has been enough for one night...."

I nodded as she and Leda walked out as everyone else bowed in respect.

"If we may, Alister and I may talk to her tomorrow...." Hermes said to me.

"That should be up to her," I said. "News like this has clearly distraught her severely. Its best we give her time to process what she had just learned. Mind you, she had a very stressful mourning period before we revived her mate....."

They nodded in understanding.

"However, there is still one last thing that we have no answers to, and I believe for Lynette's sake that it is a very important question she needs answered, just like we all do, Alister," I said sternly.

"Which is...?" Alister asked.

I took a step closer before speaking.

"What became of her father....? Where is Bartholomew Lieseil?"

{•Remington•}

I rested in Lynette's bed as she finally slept.

We got her back to her room, helping to clean her up some more and change her into warmer, clean clothes before Leda gave her a tea to help her fall asleep.

It helped enough, but the grief and shock was a lot for Lynette....

I managed to sing her to sleep, since I don't have my power to help her to at the moment.

I held her close and stroked her hair softly as she slept against my chest.

I then hear a soft knock and the door opened, seeing Larisa walk in.

"Hi... How is she?" she whispered softly as she carefully walked in.

I sighed carefully. "Its bad, Larisa.... I heard how broken she was when I was gone, but this.... This is something else...."

She sighed sadly. "I can't even begin to imagine how this has her..... This revelation has me just spinning, but her..... My god, not even an hour ago, she was an orphan, and now.... She never deserved this, no one in that family did...."

I frowned and looked down. "Her whole life was turned upside down... All because of evil tyrants...."

I then felt Lynette shift and whimper in her sleep as she clung to me and I tried to comfort and calm her.

"I can't put her to sleep... Can you do it?" I asked her.

She nodded and carefully walked over, sitting at the edge before reaching over softly stroking Lynette's hair.

She took a deep breath before her eyes turned red and she placed her hand over Lynette's head.

Lynette shifted a little bit before she relaxed into my arms, exhaling softly.

I sighed with relief as Larisa softly stroked her hair before she moved her hand and her eyes turned brown again.

"Thank you...." I said softly.

She nodded as she looked back at Lynette.

"I can't believe it... Lynette being a long lost princess... Mind you, a princess that nobody even knew existed..... And you found her just by chance," she said. "Working in a mall on Earth.... What are the odds?"

I sighed. "I don't know... I mean, I always thought there was something unique about Lynette... Almost familiar... Never something like this, though....."

She sighed. "Now the question is, where her father could be? Or even where her mother is buried... We never found where Eloise was laid to rest, just her autopsy report...."

I sighed. "Lieseil was harder to find than Warhol.... For all we know, he might be dead, too...."

She frowned softly. "For Lynette's sake.... I hope not...."

I sighed and held her close, then looked up. "If Lynette is Dream, then... Who was in the mystery child's grave?"

She pursed her lips and shook her head. "Damiano and Austin just came back with the others....." she explained. "The grave was empty... Except for this...."

She reached into her pocket and pulled out an infant's rattle, handing it to me.

"Lieseil's seal...." I said, then turned it around, reading the message engraved behind it. "To our little star... My god, Larisa... That family was torn apart before it even began....."

She frowned sadly. "Eloise and Bartholomew barely even had half an hour with their newborn child....." Larisa said sadly, holding Lynette's hand. "All because of those damn Visigoths..... Her own grandparents.... They ruined Lynette's whole life... They ruined her family, exposed her to a life of abuse and neglect..... Killed so many innocents..... All for revenge, for power....."

"This was never meant to happen...." I murmured.

I sighed softly as I held Lynette closer, Larisa still holding her hand.

I frowned and looked up as I then realized something. "Does this all mean you and my brother have to step down from the throne?"

She sighed softly, looking down. "Honestly.... We're not even sure... Its not like anything like this has ever happened before, and... Sebastian and I only agreed to be king and queen to prevent chaos and to protect our people.... Hell of a great job we've done...."

"Don't... Don't do that to yourself.... The Visigoths chasing us off and killing me is not your fault, Larisa... Or Sebastian's," I said sternly. "You two did everything right, and the Obsidian residents are safe.... Just that Lilith was too fast, and always three steps ahead of everyone.... Not to mention forceful....."

She frowned quietly.

"We'll figure this all out somehow...." I assured her.

She sighed softly and looked up.

"The rule of Obsidian is Lynette's choice, along with the Warhol's now that they're back..... We have to support whatever is decided..." she said.

I took a deep breath and nodded.

"They want to talk to her...." She said. "Discuss things more in depth.... However, we think its best to give her time to process and come to grips with everything...."

I nodded. "Its best...."

She nodded before leaning down and kissing the back of Lynette's hand before holding it close to her chest for a moment, then gently standing up.

"Its been a long day... We should all get some rest...." she said. "I'll go see to having the Warhol's and their soldiers settled, as well as our own men now that they've returned," she said.

I nodded as she looked at us.

"Stay with her," she said.

"You know I will....." I assured.

She nodded before quietly leaving the room.

I carefully rolled over and laid Lynette down while still holding her in my arms, kissing her forehead before pulling her close and genlty combing my fingers through her hair.

"It's gonna be okay...." I murmured softly to her. "We'll figure out what will happen now...."

I hope I'm right.....

What do you guys think will happen next??  🤔🤔

Random thought: I find it kind of funny how the stories I choose to read here barely ever get updated much anymore, so I just end up rereading them to remember what the plot is even about, (or just skimming through my own stories for any typos or mistakes).
Not judging at all, though. I know people got their own personal lives, other priorities and stuff. Believe me I know plenty about that (I admit I do multitask a lot AND also take advantage of my free time to write/type, which I very often use as an outlet whenever I feel stressed and/or anxious). I just find it funny that ALMOST all  the stories that I happen to be reading in this website have that going on.. 😂😂🤷🏻‍♀
