"i really don't think this is safe. we should go back home, richie. please?" eddie pleaded, holding onto richie's arm. they were out as a group, looking for their missing friend: will byers. it was eddie, richie, mike, who was richie's twin brother, lucas, dustin, and beverly.

richie looked sympathetically at eddie, then sent a side glance towards mike who looked like he was about to snap at eddie at any second. mike felt like he was the only one who cared about his missing best friend.

eddie was sleeping over at richie's house for the weekend, but little did he know that he'd be going on a scary ass adventure. mike insisted they went out searching before it was possibly too late, and richie called up beverly and mike called up lucas and dustin to help them search. richie also called stan and bill, who weren't able to come. the only reason eddie went along was because he didn't want richie to go alone.

it was storming and freezing outside, so richie gave eddie one of his hoodies to hide inside of, along with a flashlight so he could see.

"where are we even going?" lucas asked curiously, giving a bit of attitude as always.

"will's bike was found around here. that means he might be around here somewhere." mike replied, shining his flashlight in lucas' face so he could see him.

eddie was soaking wet, cold, and scared and just wanted to go home. he jumped when he heard something snap in the woods.

"GUYS! i heard something." eddie said, cuddling closer to richie and shivering. they all immediately quieted down, holding still and shining their flashlights all around them through the rain. richie pulled eddie closer to him, wrapping his soaked arm around his shoulder and squeezing him closer to him.

that's when mike shined his flashlight right in a girl's face, scaring the shit out of all of them as they hadn't seen her before and they barely heard her. they stared at her for a few moments, atleast they thought she was a girl. she had a shaved head but a feminine face. she was pale with brown eyes and wearing a long yellow gown. she looked terrified.

eddie immediately glanced down to her hands to see if she was holding anything that could harm them, but sighed in relief when she had absolutely nothing on her. she had to be harmless, right? but where did she come from?

the girl stood there and stared right back at the group, immediately locking eyes with mike - as he was the one who had his light in her eyes. then richie watched as she looked at beverly, then him, then eddie, and then back to other side of mike to look at lucas and dustin.

they led her back to their house and they all snuck into the basement. eddie was nervous the whole time and had a bad feeling, yet everyone else thought it was no big deal that they found some strange random girl and decided to bring her into their house.

the whole walk home, eddie didn't say anything, but he kept staring at the girl, who was walking next to mike. she wasn't close to eddie, but he kept his eyes on her. he just had a bad feeling about this.

once they were in the basement, everyone sat down with the strange girl while richie decided to go change into warm clothes first. his glasses were soaked and he had no way of drying them off since his clothes were also wet, so he could barely see. he grabbed eddie's hand and quietly led them through the silent house until he reached his bedroom. he quietly closed the door behind him and sighed.

"are you guys crazy? why do all you people think it's a good idea to bring a strange girl that we found in the middle of the woods into the house??" eddie whisper-yelled, beginning to take off his hoodie. richie went to his closet and pulled out sweatpants and a sweater for both of them, tossing eddies clothes to him. they'd be a little big, but atleast they'd be comfy.

"mike insisted, eds. he's too nice for his own good." richie replied. he took off his shirt and pants, changing into his sweatpants and pulling his sweater over his wet curls. they've shared clothes many times before, meaning they've changed in front of eachother before. it was normal for them. eddie slipped on the sweatpants and the sweater, moving the wet clothes to the corner of the room and sitting on richie's bed.

"you'd think he'd be smart enough to not let a stranger in his home though.." eddie lectured, hating absolutely everything about this. richie walked to him from across the room, where he was setting his clothes down, and held his chin up to press a small kiss to his lips.

eddie huffed when they pulled away after a second. "that's not gonna make me shut up, you know." eddie said to him, richie's face being just a few inches away from his as he kneeled in front of him.

"well, i mean, it worked.."

"rich-!" he began to yell before richie kissed him again. he gently put his hands on the sides of eddie's face before he pulled away and looked at him. he squeezed his cheeks together to make his lips squish together and smiled.

"cute."

"you're annoying." eddie said after richie's hands left his face.

"you love me though."

"whatever." eddie rolled his eyes. richie smirked at him and stood up, grabbing eddie's hands and making him stand up aswell. richie pulled him in for a tight hug which lasted for a few seconds, in an attempt to calm him down. this always worked, when eddie was overwhelmed and/or frustrated, riche's hugs usually managed to get him to chill out, at least for a few minutes.

"cmon, lets go downstairs and see if she's killed them or somethin'"

eddie's eyes widened as he followed him down the stairs. "jus' kiddin." he said, opening the basement door and walking down the stairs.

"how's it going?" richie asked as he eyed mike, beverly, and the girl. "where's lucas and dustin?"

"they went home, they were stressing me out anyway."

the girl sat in the center of the couch, her arms on her lap as she sat there awkwardly. richie noticed she changed into sweatpants and a sweater aswell. mike sat on the floor in front of her, sitting criss cross. richie took a look at beverly who was sat on the other couch, still in her wet clothes. he walked over and sat next to her, eddie followed him.

"i forgot to ask, do you want warmer clothes? or anything?" richie asked her.

"nah i'm good, mike offered too. i'm probably going to head home soon. if my dad catches me sneaking back in, especially in someone else's clothes, i don't want to know what would happen." she sighed, staring at the floor. richie raged on the inside, because he knew what life was like for her but could do nothing to change it. however, he gave her a sympathetic smile on the outside and put his arm around her shoulder.

eddie stared at the brown-haired girl who was just looking down at her hands.

"do you know her name yet?" eddie asked, leaning forward.

"yeah, her name is eleven, and she was running from bad people who were chasing her, i guess. she's gonna spend the night down here and we have a plan for the morning. i'm still worried about will, i'm going out again tomorrow night. with or without you guys."

eddie put his head in his hands as he absorbed all this information.

"you're letting her sleep down here? how do you know your mom won't see her? or that she won't go walking through the house? and who names their kid eleven? and what kind of bad people??" eddie questioned, and mike sighed.

"listen, i know what i'm doing. our mom never comes down here. and she'll probably sleep through the night, look at her, she's exhausted. she's sleeping in my fort, i already set up pillows and blankets so she'll be comfortable and hidden away." mike explained. eleven looked up and looked back and forth between mike and eddie as they talked.

"alright, whatever. i'm tired..." eddie gave up on arguing and looked at richie, trying to see if he was tired aswell. it was nearly two in the morning. richie nodded. "one second." he mouthed.

richie gave beverly a quick hug and told her to get home safely. beverly just nodded and hugged back, walking up the stairs to leave.

"alright dude, we're tired and going to bed. you staying down here with her?"

"goodnight. and no, i'm going to my room soon." mike replied.

richie nodded and sighed, leading eddie up to his room quietly. richie turned the light off and plopped down on his bed, pulling eddie down with him. eddie laid down next to him, hiding his face in the crook of richie's neck with his arm sprawled out across his chest. their legs were tangled up together underneath the blanket and richie pulled eddie closer to him, whispering goodnight before they both fell in a deep sleep.
