FOREWORD
In 2000, after careful statistical analysis, the United Nations determined that 1 in 4 boys were born into extreme poverty and were therefore inevitably predisposed to criminal circles and destined for a career in that world. UN Secretary General Abel Kiessling decided to launch a global initiative to save as many boys as possible. On January 1, 2001, the K.A.R. (Kid at Risk) project was born, with the sole purpose of taking a thousand boys from the worst peripheries of the planet, and training them in the military to become the best soldiers in the world. The UN wanted to turn these boys into the greatest weapon the world had ever seen, turning their poverty into their greatest strength.
The K.A.R. initiative was given to multi-decorated General Jeremy Sawyer, hero of the Gulf Wars. The initiative would last two years and would only involve boys and girls as young as sixteen, so that two years later they would be of age and ready to fight. The K.A.R. base was established in suburban Phoenix, Arizona, to accommodate the 1,000 boys expected in 2002. Registration opened on January 10, 2001, and would close on September 20 of that year. More than three hundred million boys enrolled, resulting in a significant slowdown in the selection process.
Among the millions of children, the United Nations favored those who came from suburbs declared "uninhabitable", that is, all those that guaranteed one hundred percent criminality of its inhabitants and whether the candidate had special abilities or not. The evaluation ended a month late, but on February 1, 2002, the list of 1,000 was drawn up and more than two hundred million were discarded. It is not really known why, but eighteen months later, due to some management problems, the K.A.R. program was closed, followed by the outrage and disappointment of the UN, which did not comment on the matter, Annan resigned and the whole project was forgotten, but among these boys, on the fateful night of August 10, 2003, something happened that not only shut down the whole project, but also created a wound among six boys that has never healed.
One thing was certain: that day, the stage was set for something that could endanger the entire world.
