Back to the Past (2/3 of 3 special updates back-to-back) (TOLD YOU MORE FEELS)

(((((Bolded words in the story are vocabulary words from class. Sorry, Squirrels! And if Mrs. Billinski (my English teacher) is reading this, sorry it's so long (and gorey at times)!!! Oh, and Squirrels, this takes place right after Steven Majick evaporated Slender!)))))

(Slender)
I slowly opened my eyes, looking around the place I was at. By the looks of it, I was right in front of the mansion. But turning around, I saw a small shack instead. Wait, I opened my eyes? Reaching my hands up in front of my face, I saw human skin. Not the pale white skin I normally had. Shaking a little bit, I touched my face, feeling facial features. Nose, eyes, mouth, everything. Shaking even more, I reached up to the top of my head, feeling curly hair. I balled my hands into fists, tugging at the hair. It was my hair. I was human. But, how? I felt like a buffoon, the way I kept playing with my hair in a childish manner.

"Richard dear," called a feminine voice, one that I haven't heard for centuries, "could you please get the children inside? It's getting quite dark out." I gasped a bit, covering my mouth and feeling my eyes water up. It was the voice of my wife, Julianna, whom I had such a penchant for from the day I first laid eyes on her. Staring into the shack's open window, I saw Julianna dancing around in the kitchen, her 17th century dress flowing down to the ground. I smiled, my mouth stil covered. If this was me being dead, then I loved it. It's been forever since I've seen my wife and kids. Julianna looked back at me, her amber eyes gleaming with joy. "Richard," she laughed, shaking her head, "stop staring at me like that. You're acting like you haven't seen me in years! Now could you please go get the kids while I cook dinner? Please be an extrovert for once and put someone else and put someone else before yourself!"

I smile at her and nod, saying, "Of course dear, I'll be right back." I turn around and face the woods again, a smile on my face. It's been a while since I've heard my human voice and not the voice of that monster. Walking into the treeline, I began to call the names of my children. "Jessica," I called, "James, are you two nearby?" I heard quiet giggling, and I looked up to see my young daughter Jessica in the tree above me, her sandy brown hair and brown eyes bringing back so many memories of when I was still human. "Jessica," I laughed, "get down from there. You're going to hurt yourself!" She smiled down at me and nodded, beginning to climb down from the tree. Something suddenly didn't feel right, though. Like a dark force was pushing at me from all sides, crushing me.

"DADDY!," I heard James yell from behind me. I looked in his direction, seeing him running this way with a look of panic on his face. "Daddy, help! It's chasing me!," he screamed, wrapping his arms around me tightly as he ran into me. I picked him up and held him against me, hearing Jessica jump to the ground out of the tree. I peered into the darkening woods where James came running from, trying to see anything in there. I continued to stare, slowly seeing a pair of ruby red eyes glowing in the dark. My eyes widened, and I sat James down. Gently pushing him in the direction of home, I whispered, "Run, both of you." James walked slowly towards home, Jessica right behind him.

The red eyes were unmoving, until the second I took a step. The thing charged at me, and I yelled at my children, "RUN! RUN, NOW!" They both let out small screams, running as fast as their little legs could carry them. I didn't know what the thing was that was chasing us, I didn't even remember this ever happening. I remembered everything else that happened, but as soon as I told Jessica to get out of the tree, I forgot it all. None of it was in my memory. I ran after my children, more worried about them living instead of my own life. "Run," I shouted again, nudging them ahead as I stayed at a pace to run behind them.

Just in case the thing got close, I'd rather me get killed by it first.

As we neared the shack we called home, the beast leapt on me, it's sharp claws tearing into me. I gritted my teeth and yelled, telling my kids to keep running. Jessica listened to me, rushing into the shack. But James stayed behind, looking angry. "NO ONE HURTS MY DADDY," he yelled, lunging at the thing on top of me with a manner of asperity in his actions. The thing looked up at James, easily using one hand to swat him away like a pesky bug. I watched in horror as James's small body flew through the air, slamming into a tree and falling limp to the ground. And at that moment, everything began to pay in slow motion, the only thing I heard was my own heartbeat in my ears. My son, dead. All because of this beast.

The beast got off of me, running away. Looking down at myself before getting up to my feet, I saw that there wasn't a single scratch on me. Only a bit of blood. I ran over to James as soon as I was on my feet, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him. "James, wake up," I whispered, feeling tears flow down my cheeks, "please wake up." I hear Jessica and Julianna come out of the cabin, both of them gasping as they saw James. "Richard," Julianna said, her voice racking, "What did you do?!?" I look up at the two of them, shocked and confused. They thought I did this? To my son, one of my two children, the people that meant the most to me in this world?

Julianna scowled at me, looking up into the woods. I looked up with her, seeing a flickering light of torches in the darkness. The angry shouting of villagers was heard, which made my skin crawl in terror. What was going on?!? I look up at Julianna, giving her a confused and sad look. Glancing back at the oncoming villagers, I heard the faint sounds of shouting and angry yelling. I stood up to my feet, eyes wide in fear. What was going on? What was happening? I don't remember any of this! The villagers poured into the clearing where the shack stood, all of them looking at me with angry glares. Then they all looked at James, their looks turning into those of horror. "HE'S A MONSTER," I heard someone from the crowd shout, which caused an uproar of agreeing voices. "HE MUST BE PUNISHED FOR HIS CRIME!," said another, a second uproar of agreement following behind.

"Daddy," I heard Jessica whisper. Looking down at her, I see her with tears in her eyes. "Daddy, what are they talking about?" "I don't know," I say, shaking my head. "You're just instigating unneeded trouble," I yelled, getting angry. One of the villagers grabbed my arm like he was the top of the hierarchy and could do as he wished, saying, "It's time you pay the price for your baneful, Johnson." I opened my mouth to argue, but a pain in the back of my head stopped my words. My vision turned black around the edges, and I felt a warm liquid run down the back of my neck. I collapsed to my knees, hearing Jessica scream in terror, "DADDY!" And then, the second her small little voice stopped echoing around my skull, everything turned to black.

So dark......

When I came to, I was tied up to a tree. My arms were bound to branches, and my feet were bound to some roots that stuck up out of the ground. I was stuck, that was obvious. There's no way I was getting out. As I was deep in thought, a villager came up to me, holding a vial in his hand. The vial contained a dark green liquid that seemed to shimmer as it moved around inside. "Richard Johnson," the man said, "This here vial contains a super growth formula that will make the tree you're tied to grow at an astounding rate. And since you're unable to get out, you know what will happen, right?" I stared at him, thinking he was crazy. How was I supposed to know what was going on? I didn't even know where I was!

I stayed quiet, not wanting to answer the crazed man in front of me. He nodded as if I answered his question, and he opened the vial. Tipping it over, he poured the liquid onto the roots of the tree. The tree itself began to shake and quiver, and the man ran away as if he'd released a wild animal. He must have, because the tree started to grow. One foot, two feet, and three. It didn't bother me at first, but it started bothering me when the branches and roots started growing. It began pulling my limbs, stretching me more than my joints would allow.

As if to remind me that my joints couldn't take it, they all imbued at the same time, spreading apart from their original places. I let out a scream, feeling my limbs stretch even more. My vision began to go black again, and I was struggling to stay awake. I had to get back to my family. I had to keep Jessica safe from that beast, it already took away one of my children. I closed my eyes as a blinding sunlight fell onto me, heating my ice-cold skin. All the blood was rushing out of my arms and legs, leaving me cold inside and out. But I was still alive. I wasn't dead yet. The tree kept growing, and since it continued to grow taller by the second, my legs and arms would stop being pulled on.

It grew taller and taller, next pulling at my spine. I turned my head, seeing that my arms were nearly two times what it was before. And no doubt my legs were the same. I looked down at myself, seeing that my clothes were changed as well. I was in my Sunday suit, the black fabric gleaming in the light from the sun in such a way that the garishness of the sight almost made me sick. Would have, honestly, if I wasn't being pulled limb from limb. . The tree pulled at my spine more, and I felt my spinal cord snap into pieces one by one. And as the last spinal connection snapped, I couldn't hold on any longer. I was slipping away, the darkness invading my vision. And, for a second time that day, everything turned pitch black.

When I awoke this time, I was in a bright hallway, a set of shinning white gates in front of me. An angel appeared in front of me, a smile on her face. "Welcome to heaven," she said, parting her lips to show her pearly white teeth. "No," I say simply, shaking my head, "No, I can't be dead. I have to keep Jessica safe!" I turned around and stared down the hallway, seeing how dark and cruel it looked at the other end. "You can't go back," the angel said. I growled at the angel, saying, "Bull shit I can't." I ran down the hallway, engulfed in the dim lighting. I wasn't ready to die, I needed to keep my child safe. I continued to run, picking up speed until I fell through the floor.

And when I landed, I was back in the woods, in my suit and tied to the tree. My skin was pure white now, as I saw when I looked at my hands. Bleached white from the sun. Most of my skin was shrunken down, so I was easily able to remove my hands from the things binding me to the tree. Tugging my feet out, I took a wobbling step forward, noticing how my legs and arms were extremely long. And down by my feet, I saw a little wooden box. I leaned down to pick it up, toppling over and landing on my back. I'd have to get used to my new body. Grabbing the box, I opened it, seeing a piece of paper and some wild flowers inside. I picked up the flowers, seeing how shriveled and whithered they were. Grabbing the paper, I read out loud, "Daddy, I miss you. I'll always love you daddy." I stared at it for a long time, wanting to cry. But I couldn't.

Reaching up to touch my face, I felt skin over my eyes mouth and nose. I was Slenderman again. I still didn't remember this, though. Why couldn't I remember any of this happening? I slowly stood up again, seeing that there'd been a curtain around the tree. Did the guy put it there so no one visiting could see what happened to me? As I was in deep thought, I heard a twig snap. Turning around, I saw Jessica walking through the trees, a small wooden box clutched in her small hands. I quickly ran behind the curtains, not wanting her to see me like this.

She sat down in ront of the tree, sitting the box on the ground. I noticed that she looked diferent, older even. "Happy Birthday daddy," she said, a small smile on her doleful face. "James came back from the doctor's today. Me and mommy were glad to have him back home. He was really looking forward to seeing you daddy. It hurt mommy so much to tell him what happened to you." She started crying, but she wiped them away before they could stray too far. "I still miss you so much, daddy. They still won't tell me what happened to you. No one will." I covered the place where my mouth would have been, feeling as if me myself were about to cry. But with the way I was, I was physically unable to cry. I peeked my head out from the curtains, looking down at Jessica.

She was staring at the ground, sitting on the dirt. She didn't seem to notice me yet, which I was glad about. I didn't want her to see my like this. Leaning forward a bit more, I hit my head against one of the branches. Jessica gasped, her head jerking up to look at me. I stared down at her, not sure what to do now that she was looking at me. She screamed a bit, backing away from her spot on the ground faster than a bolt of lightning. Standing up, she began to run off. I sighed a bit, chasing after her. Without a mouth, how was I supposed to communicate with her? The box. I rushed back, grabbing the box before chasing her again.

With my new and extremely long legs, I ran after her, covering a long distance in a short amount of time as I quickly caught up to her. I wrapped one of my arms around her and pulled her to a stop, making her scream again. "LET ME GO, LET ME GO!," she yelled, kicking and trying to get away. I held her still taking the paper out of the old wood box and holding it in front of her face. She stopped squirming so much, staring at the paper. After she read it, she looked up at me, her eyes wide. "D-Daddy?," she stammered, starting to shake all over. I nodded, feeling my heart leap with joy. I was so happy she wasn't afraid of me anymore.

I sat her down on the ground, sitting down in front of her. She stared at me, and I stared back. "Daddy is that really you?," she asked, her small hand reaching up and touching my cheek. I nodded again, and she burst into tears. "Daddy I missed you so much!," she yelled, moving closer to me and wrapping me in a hug. I hugged back reluctantly, not expecting her to have done that. I was honestly expecting her to back away from fear. The two of us sat there for about five minutes, her head on my shoulder, sobbing so hard her shoulders were shaking.

When she pulled away, she had a smile on her face, her brown eyes red and puffy from tears. "Do you know how long you've been gone?," she asked me, staring me in the place my eyes used to be. I shook my head, not knowing how long it's been. "Two years," she said, smiling more. I jerk my head back in shock. Two years? I was gone for two years? I shook my head again, looking down at my hands to see them evaporating. But, how? Why? Why now? The evaporating worked up my arms again, until I was entirely gone.

~DE LA SKIP TO BACK PLACE THING MAJIGGER~

I sat up, seeing that I was back in the parking lot where Steven had evaporated me. (Y/n) was gone, though, and Steven wasn't there either. I was alone in the lot, Tim sitting a few feet away from me. He looked at me, looking as shaken up and shocked as I was. "What just happened?," he whispered.

(((((Since this is so long, Squirrels, I'm counting it as parts 2 and 3 of the 3 updates back to back. Okay? No hitting me with toast, alright? Okay, no toast? Good! Nice to know you Squirrels understand!)))))
