"What are you doing here...?" Katelyn growled. She held her spear so close to Soul's face it barely touched her nose.

Soul gave Katelyn a blank stare. "I was sent to take out wizards from the Alliance. I have definitely found some, but..." She glanced down the trembling Kai. "It seems that I've interrupted something..."

"Yeah. You have. So leave!" Katelyn exclaimed.

"I would, but Brain told me to take out any wizard from the Allied Forces I come in contact with."

"Wait... You would?! But-" Before Katelyn could say anymore she was fiercely knocked to the side. She crashed through a few trees before disappearing into the woods.

"KATELYN!!" Kai yelled in worry. She looked back up at Soul, who had her arm stretched to the side with her tome floating above her other hand. Soul stared down at Kai with emotionless eyes. Kai froze, her ears tilted down and her tail still. What's wrong with me? Why am I acting like this? She thought.

"You look... troubled," Soul said, snapping Kai out of her thoughts. "Are you... okay?"

"W-Why do y-you c-care?" Kai stuttered, confused. "You're o-our enemy."

Soul didn't have a chance to answer. Katelyn came out of the trees, and rammed into Soul, catching her off guard. Soul fell to the ground, her tome flying out of her hand.

"Kai! You okay?" Katelyn asked worriedly.

Kai snapped out of her trances state, and showed a look of determination. "Yeah!"

She stood up and looked over at Soul, who had already gotten up with her tome in her hand. Kai and Katelyn didn't hesitate to make the first move.

"REQUIP: SPEAR FIGHTER!" Kai exclaimed.

(This is her requip and spear)

Kai and Katelyn charge towards Soul with their spears in hand. Soul, completely expecting this, teleported behind the two.

"Soul Void: Hyper blast," Soul called out. The white beam shot towards Kai and Katelyn. Kai requipped into her Armorknight set, and blocked the attack. Katelyn jumped over Kai and managed to hit Soul while she was focusing on Kai. She managed to get a few solid hits in before Soul started to block with her Green Barrier.

"Why are you working with the Oracion Seis anyway?" Katelyn asked as she jumped back to Kai, who had requipped back into her normal armor. "You apparently seem to 'care' about other's feelings, so why work with the bad guys?"

"You really want to know?" Soul said with a sudden dark look on her face. Kai flinched at the pure anger shown in Soul's eyes, her ears lowering in fear. "I owe Brain a lot. He saved me when one of you didn't."

"W-What do you mean one of us?" Kai asked, cursing herself for stuttering.

"Oh... You don't know?" Soul muttered, a smirk growing in her face. "Your 'beloved' master, Makarov, saved my whole village from a demon attack, but left me and my family to die."

"W-What?!" Kai and Katelyn exclaimed.

"He would never do that!" Katelyn continued.

"Well I'm living evidence that he would!!" Soul retorted. "My parents died because of him!! Brain came just in time to save me! He trained me so I could one day defeat Makarov."

"Like you'll be able to!" Katelyn taunted. "He's one of the wizard saints!"

Soul's smirk grew wider. "Oh, I know. That why I'm starting with everything he cares about. Fairy Tail has been so much fun to play with. You're all so naive. Going after ever single problem I've created, and almost getting yourselves killed. I'm even the one who convinced Laxus to try to overthrow Makarov, and now he's been expelled."

Kai started to growl at Soul's words, her ears lowering threateningly. Her eyes started to glow red in anger. (Her eyes are originally brown btw) Shadows started to engulf her arms.

'Woah, kid, calm down. You're going to lose it.' Lycan's voice echoed in Kai's mind. 'You haven't completed your training yet, you won't be able to control it!'

'I don't care!' Kai replied in frustration. 'I WANNA KILL HER!'

Kai charged towards Soul on all fours, shadows enveloping her hands.

"SHADOW DRAGON IRON FIST!"

Soul almost effortlessly blocked Kai's attack. Kai rebounded off the green shield, skidding on the ground for a few feet. She quickly got back up, and growled angrily at Soul. More shadows started to surround her figure. Katelyn's eyes widened in fear, recognizing what was happening.

"KAI STOP! IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN!" Katelyn warned. She tried to get over to Kai, but the shadows blocked her path.

Kai lunged at Soul again only to be met with the Green Barrier. The shadows created an arena like area around the two, leaving Katelyn out. She tried to break through with her spear, but she made no dents whatsoever. Katelyn could only watch her friend meeting the same fate as she did a year ago.

"Why are you even trying?" Soul asked smugly. "You can't even land a single hit on me, yet you keep trying..."

"SHUT UP!" Kai yelled, her voice mixing with the demon inside her. She lunged at Soul once again. This time Soul countered her attack. An orange light enveloped her hand, enhancing her strength. She punched Kai into the ground beneath her. Kai crashed into the ground with a loud thud, leaving cracks in the earth. She tried to get up again, but Soul stepped on her head, keeping her down.

"KAI!!!" Katelyn shouted from the outside.

Soul gave Kai a dead stare as she pushed her foot harder on her head. Kai whimpered in pain, but still glared at Soul with pure anger.

"Like a weak demon spawn could have a chance of defeating me," Soul snarled, pushing down even harder on Kai's head. "Even teamed up you two couldn't do anything to me... What's makes you think this will have a better result?"

"YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING I'M CAPABLE OF!!" Kai snapped, struggling under Soul's weight. She clawed at her foot, but had no effect.

Soul chuckled. "Oh, I think I might have some idea... Considering you were the one to attack my village... Lycan..."

Kai could feel Lycan grimace in her mind. Still not giving up, Kai growled even louder and struggled even more under Soul's foot.

"Oh, be quiet you mutt," Soul sneered. If anything, Kai started to growl louder as more and more shadows crept up her figure. "Hmm... I guess I'll just have to do it myself..."

Soul raised her arm, and it started to glow an eerie red. Katelyn could feel the immense amount of magic coming from Soul. She banged her spear even harder against the shadows, desperately trying to get in.

"Soul Void: Eternal Darkness..."

"KAI!!! NO!!!"

A/N: I feel like such a jerk right now XD. For both the cliffhanger and for not updating in almost two weeks. Hope you guys enjoyed the chappie though!
