     Grima watched sadly as Kai kept training her dragon slaying magic. He knew she would be devastated once he had to leave. She had had already been left behind (Roll credits!) once, and he didn't want to make her experience that again.

     "Daddy? Why do you look so sad?" Grima was so deep in thought that he didn't even realize the 4 year old girl walk up to him. He put on a fake smile and said, "Oh, don't worry, child. Daddy was just thinking about something."

     "Thinking about what?"

     "Nothing important," Grima paused. "My child, if I left would you still be happy?"

     "H-huh? A-are you l-leaving?"

     "N-no! Of course not! I'm just asking."

     "W-well if you want me to be happy, I would!"

Grima smiled, "Thank you for telling me, my child. It's getting late, go back inside, and rest. I'm going out for a fly, and I'll be back in the morning."

"Ok! Good night, daddy, I love you!" Kai ran up, and hugged Grima, her tail wagging.

"Good night, I love you, too" Grima sadly watched Kai run back into their cave. He wouldn't be back in the morning, but she didn't know that.

Grima quietly walked into the cave to find Kai peacefully sleeping next to the egg that she found. Being as quiet as he could, Grima left a note and a little gift in the cave. He sadly looked back at Kai, then took off, tears slowly flowing down his face. 

The Next Day

Sunlight slowly shown into the dark cave, waking the wolf girl inside. Kai yawned, rubbing her eyes, and sat up. She looked around to find that Grima was no where to be seen.

"Daddy? Where are you?" Kai asked sleepily. When Kai heard no response she started to get worried. She walked around the cave to try to find Grima, but only found a note and a small box.

Dear Kai,
     I'm sorry for leaving you, but I had no choice. Just know that I still love you. Maybe one day we'll see each other again. I left you a gift in the box, just a little something to remember me by. Just please, stay your happy little self, for me.
                                       Love, Grima

     Tears were already rapidly streaming down Kai's face as she finished reading the note. She tried wiping them away, but more tears kept coming. 'I-I'll stay h-happy for y-y-ou' Kai thought. She opened the box, and found a scarf made out of Grima's scale. She immediately put it one, and sniffed the scent of her father.

     A small cracking noise made Kai come out of her thoughts. She turned around to see that the egg had a few cracks in it. Kai went over to the egg, and more and more cracked started to form on it. Soon enough, the egg finally broke open.

     Kai stared in awe at what came out of the egg. A tiny red kitten sat in the remains of the egg.

     "Hewwo!" The kitten said excitedly.

     "H-hello, my name's Kai."

     "Hewwo, Kai-chan! I don't have a name yet."

     "W-well, how about I-I n-name you"

     "Ok, Kai-chan!"

     "How about... Liz?" The kitten shook her head.

     "Umm... Patty?" No. (If you get the reference you have watched one of the best animes ever)

     "Lissa?" No.

     "Oh! How about Katelyn?" (Again if you get the reference you have watched one of the best youtubers ever)

     "Yeah! I wike dat one!"

     Kai smiled, "Then from now on, you'll be known as Katelyn!"

     "Yay!"

     Kai picked up Katelyn, and slowly walked out of the cave. "Where are we going Kai-chan?"

     "We're going to find my sister. Her name's Erza, and she's the best!"

     "Ok! Wet's go!"

     While running off, Kai sadly looked back at her old cave. 'Don't worry , daddy. I'll find you someday.'

A/N: I'm so sorry this took so long to make. I'm currently at my swim meet, and I'm having to leave every like 5 minutes to go swim. At least my times are dropping ^-^. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the new chappie.
