|Filler| Sleepover

Right when they got back to the guild, Natsu and Gray immediately went on their own solo missions. Mira explained that they were getting prepared for the S-class trials.

Kai, Wendy, Charle, and Lisanna were the only girls at the guild at the moment. Cana, Juvia, and Levy had also went on solo missions, and Erza, Lucy, Soul, Katelyn, and Mira had left for "girl time" at the hot springs. They had left Lisanna in charge of the bar, and to watch over Kai and Wendy. The two girls were currently helping Lisanna with all the dirty dishes.

"How do we have all these dishes?" Kai asked, scrubbing a dirty plate. She was currently dressed in her casual clothes. She had a black, white, and red hoodie, a plain white shirt, and dark grey sweatpants.

"Natsu," Lisanna answered jokingly.

"Makes sense."

"Wow, it's really raining hard, huh?" Wendy said. The rain was pounding against the windows of the guild loudly.  There was no lightning, but it wouldn't be surprising if it started.

"It hasn't rained this hard since right before we went to Edolas," Charle added.

"Hopefully it clears up soon, we don't want you guys walking home in the rain," Lisanna stated. Wendy and Charle were going to sleep over at Kai's place while Erza and Katelyn were gone for the next few days.

After an hour or two later, it had gotten considerably dark, telling the girls it was time to go. Kai and Wendy put the last of the dishes away, and waved to Lisanna.

"We're gonna go now! Bye Lisa-senpai!" Kai exclaimed.

"Goodbye! Try to stay out of the rain!" Lisanna advised. The girls nodded as they walked out of the guild.

The rain had cleared up a bit, but it was still coming down pretty hard. Kai and Wendy sprinted through the rain, and stopped below an overhanging roof of a building.

"We should have waited in the guild until the rain cleared up," Charle scolded.

"It wasn't gonna clear up anytime soon though... We would've been there for the whole night," Kai said.

"I guess that's true..." Wendy mumbled. She hugged herself for warmth. She was soaked from the rain, and was starting to get cold. Kai realized this, and took off her hoodie. She handed it to Wendy.

"Here," Kai said.

Wendy shook her head. "N-No. You'll be cold then..."

"I'll be fine. I don't want you to get sick," Kai stated. "I'm not taking no for an answer."

Before Wendy could protest, Kai had wrapped her hoodie around her shoulders. Wendy snuggled into the hoodie, and put the hood up, finding warmth in her friend's jacket.

"Are you okay now?" Kai asked, tilting her head cutely.

"Y-Yeah... Thank you," Wendy replied with a smile. Kai smiled back, her tail slightly wagging.

"If both of you are ready, we should hurry up," Charle stated. "It looks like it might get worse."

Charle was right. The clouds coming towards them were very dark, and the trio could see flashes of light in the distance. Wendy and Kai nodded, sprinting to the latter's house.

When they all got inside, they were completely drenched, Kai being the wettest.

"I'll go get some towels," Kai said, heading to the bathroom.

A moment later, she came out with three towels in her arms. She gave one to Wendy who wrapped it around her shoulders once she set Kai's hoodie aside, and she gave the smaller one to Charle. Kai wrapped the last one around her shoulders, drying her hair and tail.

"Thank you," Wendy said.

"No problem. Want something to eat? I can get something from the fridge," Kai offered, taking Wendy and Charle to her room.

"No thank you. I'm fine," Wendy answered, taking a seat on Kai's bed with Charle in her arms.

Kai's room was fairly simple. Her bed rested below the window at the far side of the room. By the other wall was a white desk with several books and paper sprawled across it. More books were on the shelves on the walls of the room.

"It's kinda weird not having Katelyn and Soul here to tease us every single minute," Kai stated, flopping onto her bed.

"Yeah, but it's a relief, too," Wendy replied with a small chuckle.

"Honestly, it's like those two just want to constantly see you with your faces unbelievably red..." Charle scolded. Kai and Wendy blushed in embarrassment, proving Charle's point.

After almost an hour of small talk, Charle changed the conversation completely, surprising the girls.

"Can you two dance?" Charle asked. "I didn't get to see you two dance at the party properly."

"U-Uhh..." Kai stuttered. "S-Sure...? Is it okay w-with you, Wendy?"

"It's okay with me! It'd be fun to dance again!" Wendy exclaimed. She faced Charle. "What dance do you want us to do?"

"The waltz preferably. It looked the most elegant," Charle answered.

Kai and Wendy nodded. They all went out of Kai's room, and into the living room where there was more space. The girls got into the correct position. Kai placed her right hand around Wendy's waist, and Wendy rested her lest hand on Kai's shoulder. They clasped their other hands together at about chest height.

"Are you ready?" Wendy asked.

"Y-Yeah," Kai answered.

Charle sat on the couch, watching the two girls glide around room. They performed each turn smoothly, and Kai spun Wendy multiple times. Kai never took a wrong step which surprised her.

After a few more minutes of dancing, the girls decided to end it the same way they ended it at the party. They glided down the room, and separated their clasped hands, spreading their bodies out. Kai dipped Wendy, their arms wrapped around each other. Charle clapped as the two stood back up, slightly panting.

"That was beautiful!" Charle cheered.

"Thanks Charle!" Wendy exclaimed.

"I still don't know how I did that...." Kai muttered, still confused by her sudden skill in dancing.

"You're a natural!" Wendy said.

"I was never able to do it before though... Before I looked like a headless chicken was trying to dance..." Kai replied, taking a seat on the couch, Wendy following right after.

"Nevertheless, that performance really was amazing," Charle complimented.

"It was pretty tiring, too," Kai added.

"Let's go to bed then," Wendy suggested, getting a nod from the other two. "It pretty late anyway."

All of them stood from the couch, going to get ready for bed. Kai lended Wendy a spare toothbrush, so she could brush her teeth. After that, they all headed to Kai's room.

"You two can sleep in my bed. I'll sleep on the couch," Kai stated. Before Wendy could say something, Kai spoke again. "Wendy, you're the guest. I can't let you sleep on the couch."

Wendy sighed, knowing enough about Kai's stubbornness that she wasn't changing her mind. "Alright... Oh, I didn't bring any extra clothes..."

"That alright, you can borrow some of mine," Kai insisted, walking over to her drawers. She grabbed a loose white shirt and blue shorts, and handed them to Wendy. "Hopefully it isn't too small."

"No, it's fine. I'll go change," Wendy said, walking to the bathroom. When she got back, Kai was in her pajamas. She wore black and white pajama pants with a white baseball tee.

Kai noticed Wendy come in, and smiled. "Well, goodnight Wendy! Goodnight Charle!"

"Goodnight!" The two replied as Kai walked to the living room. Wendy laid down in the bed, and almost immediately fell asleep with Charle at her side.

Kai laid out a pillow and blanket on the couch. She laid down, and snuggled into the blankets. It took her a little bit to finally fall asleep, seeing she was feeling a bit warm.

Oh well, it'll be fine in the morning...
