Rado awoke to find herself being carried. She opened her blurry eyes, taking in a wheezing breath, to find Kodiak carrying her to the med bay and staring straight ahead.
The green armored soldier realized he had removed the knives. . . Surprising.
"Why..?" Rado asked weakly, not moving. Kodiak looked down at her, looking a bit surprised, as if he hadn't expected her to wake up.
"Well. I figured it'd be bad to have a freelancer die," He responded gruffly. Rado laughed painfully.
"Oh, really now?"
The soldier nodded and entered the names bay, causing her to yelp when he dumped her on the bed none too gently.
"Um. Ow-?" Rado hissed, wincing.
Kodiak was undeniably scowling under his helmet as he called over a doctor.
"You're lucky I possess a sliver of mercy," The large soldier growled roughly. Colorado patted his shoulder and he stiffened, causing her to chuckle.
She started feeling a bit queasy and leaned back, relaxing against the pillow.
"Well.. thanks," Rado said softly, closing her eyes. Kodiak nodded in response, turning around and walking away.
The doctor walked over and starting patching Colorado up, muttering something.
Colorado decided not to inquire as she let the doctor do her job. She opened her mouth, but was poked by a scalpel.
Ow.
Her mind wandered back to Kodiak. Maybe there was a kind soul hidden in there, if anyone bothered to drag it out.
Rado set her mind on it with a small smile.
