Chapter 21 Sound of Chenqing

Within the quiet and peaceful night at Zhuque Sect, the youngest in the sect siblings, Li Yang is silently striding the halls of the House of Jing. The child looks all sleepy—or better to say his mind is still in dreamland, his feet that walking of their own soon halted in front of the research laboratory chamber which forbidden for the kids to enter.

This chamber contains the Yin Iron, the iron stone that Wei Ying and Tiao Reinshun retrieved after their fight against the Peri. Of course, the chamber has several layers of barriers made by the Zhuque Sect's barrier expert: Li Fangzhun, and these barriers are so strong that only Cangse Sanren could destroy.

If it is the case, then...

How did Li Yang able to pass the ten layers of barriers without hitch?

Upon entering series of black smoke things comes where the child is standing, and as if guiding him towards to a table with another bunch of barriers is manifested; inside these transparent barriers is the Yin Iron fidgeting and seating more and darker smokes, that look all sinister.

Li Yang who is not on himself, extended his hands, again the barriers that supposedly keep anything and anyone away has become useless, letting the child to touch the thing within its protection.

With Li Yang's abundant Yang Energy, the Yin Energy inside gains their freedom.

The earth trembles, the Yin Energy celebrated above the House of Jing, as series of screams from younger disciples, and ordinary human servants fills the whole house.

The cultivators that awaken from this havoc, especially those whose near the House of Jing rush to the source of trouble, and there in their shock found Li Yang being taken over by Yin Energy.

Li Yang's gray eyes changes into bright red, Yin Iron in his small hands, with wide toothy grin which they all find creepy and hair raising. The Yin Energy or the black smokes that guided the child are coiling on his body, dancing in slow beat.

The current people that are present at that time are: Li Fangzhun, Tiao Reinshun, Myo Qing, Myo Ning, Cong Zhuiliu, Mo Yu and Meng Yao.

Immediately, after a single look on the situation, even there are many questions running on his head, Li Fangzhun sets up barriers around Li Yang to prevents the Yin Energy to go further within the havoc. Within this ear screeching noise of raging bunch of energy, Li Fangzhun asked the children to do something to save Li Yang.

But no one knows what should be done.

They cannot even get near to their brother because of the mini typhoon composing of those inhumane, unclean, black smoky Yin Energy that centering Li Yang. This energy that created the mini typhoon are the ones that doing trouble within the House of Jing that solely came back to fight the cultivator that stopping their companions from going out.

Amidst their jumble minds, someone cool and lax came in the chamber, stood in front of the bunch of raging Yin Energy, and with knitted eyebrows take out a charcoal black flute with red tassel. The person blew air on it, and the flute let out a beautiful, soothing sound—music that unknown to everyone.

Tiao Reinshun quickly recognizes the person as her 'partner in crime'—according to the second Jade of Lan Clan.

Wei Ying plays the flute all calm, with no trace of panic within him.

Time passes—it wasn't long, just short while before the Yin Energy started to dissipate in the air, until finally gone, freeing the poor child, but only inside the barriers.

When his mind has clear, and the Yin Energy has no longer take a hold of him, Li Yang hears his adopted father Li Fangzhun, commanding him to run out the barriers. The child obeys but falls on his knees, finding no strength on them; Mo Yu and Cong Zhuiliu runs to him, but they couldn't enter, nor Li Fangzhun could open it up as the Yin energy are still existing outside—simply put, Li Yang is still could be taken over if so.

Both Xiong ushered Li Yang to come to them, that he can also crawl out and he can leave everything to them. Li Yang nodded, searching for strength, in the end he relied on his arms, it's a slow pace but as soon as his shoulder are out, Mo Yu and Cong Zhuiliu pull him out, while the Yin Energy are getting fan by Tiao Reinshun.

The sooner Li Yang was secured in his xiongs arms, the Yin energy all dispersed.

At the sight of his newly back xiong Li Yang hugged Wei Ying, and Wei Ying lift him and embrace him back.

Li Yang cries to Wei Ying.

On that very same night, accompanied by Wei Ying, Myo Qing and Myo Ning, Li Yang come to House of Zhen, and Myo Juan, who all awake and tending the Zhuque Sect people that got hurt during the havoc caused by Yin Iron, examines Li Yang for any effects of Yin Energy.

Myo Juan—dishearten—tells everyone that Li Yang cannot cultivate anymore as he lost his golden core. Since Li Yang is young his golden core isn't well guarded, and under development that have been easily get trampled by Yin Energy.

Li Yang's heart broken into many pieces. He has been longing to stand next to Wei Ying and his other siblings, but with his golden core smash and beyond repair, this will be nothing but just a fleeting dream. For the second time of that night, the child cries once again, feeling his chest tighten even more so, and starting to have difficulty in breathing.

Wei Ying embraces him, and his other siblings joins the circle, feeling hurt of what happened to their youngest.

The adults are silent.

Li Yang stops attending the lectures after that.

What's the point even?

He is particularly useless now without his golden core.

What's the use of coming in House of Xing.

"Yeah, that's still good if he would come but A-Yang have no motivation anymore to continue. Without cultivation, everything would be no sense for him."

Everyone knew that Li Yang badly wants to catch up to everyone, so no one could blame him, and if ever they are in his shoes, they will definitely act the same.

Another silent night within the Zhuque Sect, Li Yang once again found himself strolling on the hallway of House of Jing, just outside the chamber where the Yin Iron is.

Wei Ying and Tiao Reinshun apologized to him, not out of sympathy but because they are the ones that brought the Yin Iron back, and Wei Ying apologize again for coming back late from his seclusion, that if he just come back earlier and able to purify the Yin Iron before it could call for Li Yang, then this would never happen.

Li Yang never think it's their fault, it was him being weak against the calling of Yin Energy, and even now he is still weak, as he cannot resist the forceful summon of those.

Then a memory came into him; it is one of their sessions in House of Jing, Wei Ying blurts out a frightening, ridiculous and overly insane idea.

"Why won't we try to use the Yin Energy, like spiritual energy? They are both energies! If uses right, then we can use it just like how we do with spiritual energy!"

Normal people/teachers of cultivation world might haul books towards Wei Ying or maybe orders him to get out from the class and reflect his twisted thinking, but Li Fangzhun actually thinks it through, and replied: "Well... that's a nice idea but it's probably dangerous and would prevent anyone from ascended in godhood, or even entering enlightenment, no da."

Then Tiao Reinshun raises her hand, "But Uncle Zhun, I heard before that there's actually a ghost who ascended in Godhood. If a ghost is recognized by the heavens, then there's a chance for someone that would cultivate using Yin Energy to ascend!"

"But what did that ghost done to be recognized by heavens?"

"He protected people that lost their ways in a mountain, and was about to be eaten by nefarious monsters, the ghost who is in weaken state lost his mind and gouge out his own eye to forge a spiritual blade. In truth the ghost could also use one of the humans he was protecting but for some reason he chose to after his eye instead."

"A ghost as a god, huh. Never heard of it. What's the name of the ghost god?"

"He didn't become a god."

"Wait Reinshun you said that he ascended right?"

"He did, but he either jump back down or ignore the Heaven Tribulation. Oh, and he is known now as a Ghost King, and you actually can visit one of his temples."

"He has worshippers?!"

"Far too many, and within his temple, one must also pray to another being."

"Another?"

"A God, also known as the "Prince That Pleasing the Gods". Together, they are in their strongest."

"Where did you hear all of this?"

"I've visited one of their temples once."

"During your escapees?"

"No, it was the time I flew using sword with Second Young Master Nie. We accidentally stumble on a village that containing this temple. Anyways, as long as the heavens recognize your good deeds, then whatever your cultivation is you will ascend."

Li Fangzhun just watches the kids' conversation, and soon realized the temple his niece is talking about: 'Isn't that the Crimson Rain Sought Flower and Former Crowned Prince of Xianle's Temple, no da?'

But they put the idea aside that time, and Li Yang doesn't know if his siblings, specifically Wei Ying and Tiao Reinshun ever bring it up again.

Really, Li Yang's older siblings knows how to wrap their heads in the most ridiculous ways.

He lifted his foot to enter the barrier but retracted his steps instead; what if it eats him again?

Li Yang frown, he will still try—no he will definitely endure those!

A familiar scream brought by intense pain has woken up everyone up.

Quick on their feet, Wei Ying and the kids with Li Fangzhun arrived at the scene, and inside the very same chamber where Li Yang lost his golden core, the mini tornado of black smokes once again greeted them, this time much stronger, much malevolent than before.

"A-Yang!"

In a flash without hesitation, Wei Ying pulls out his flute and plays the same soothing music, this able to calm the Yin Energy. The first time Wei Ying done this he stopped as soon as that they are sure that Li Yang is safe, but now he didn't stop and only just continue at the same time the Yin Energy is getting tricky as they are turning into more malicious, even though they're showing calmness.

Seems to be that Wei Ying could sense their intention to attack once he drops his tune, so he continues and the music turning into rough and forceful, clearly saying to them that he'll finish them no matter what this time.

His forceful approach soon begun shows result as the Yin Energy begun moving slow and then stop, although not dissipating yet, they're changing their course of target which is Wei Ying who doesn't show any expression and just continue playing.

Witnessing this in calm manner, Tiao Reinshun pulls out her fan and apologize to Li Fangzhun in advance, as she injects spiritual energy on her spiritual weapon and fanned it down releasing a strong gust of wind that blows the Yin Energy away from Wei Ying, that almost destroy the walls of the chamber.

Wei Ying is still playing, while the Yin Energy no longer move, Li Yang falls only to be caught by Mo Yu who is the nearest among the present people. Myo Qing, Li Fangzhun and Myo Ning immediately went to his side and check his vitals.

Soon Wei Ying's work is showing more results and making it obvious to everyone what have he been doing.

Purification.

Wei Ying is purifying the Yin Energy that came from Yin Iron, and with last notes on his violent purification music, the Yin Energy dissipated completely, no signs of it reside back in Yin Iron.

Wei Ying ends his performance and sighs in relief, yet grips his flute and frown as he stomps towards Li Yang.

Li Yang felt his brother's intense gaze as Wei Ying crouched down to meet the younger to eye level, without uttering any words he takes him to his arms, pats his back repeatedly and soothingly.

"You alright Yang'didi?"

A surge of emotion came from Li Yang, he cries to his brother's arms again, uttering apologies to him which confused them.

Surely, no one thinks that it was his fault that those Yin Energy keeps calling him to free them. That is what they have believe, until... Li Yang starts confessing that he is thinking to use the Yin Energy like spiritual energy, that he only thinks of it because he wants to catch up to them, so he could fight alongside with them, to stand by their side. He wants to be useful to everyone, that he wants to repay Wei Ying for giving him home.

By these confessions, it doesn't need to take a genius to know that he purposely come here in the middle of night and tries to tame those Yin Energy. They understand him, and they knew where he got the idea of using Yin Energy. And since no one disagree with that idea, and Tiao Reinshun even push it by talking about the Ghost King's ascendance, no one says anything, and no one even want to say anything at all.

Wei Ying only kept quiet, still smoothing his back.

"Alright... I'll help you tame Yin Energy to become your own but! You have to promise me that you never use them to hurt someone. Is that clear?" Li Yang nodded. "With me around, we could assure your safety against those Yin Energy."

Myo Qing, "Also Yang'didi, promise me that you'll be honest about what you feel in your body every time you are conducting it."

Tiao Reinshun crouched down, "You can talk to us about it as well, Didi. We're all here for you, as you will be there for us, kay?"

Li Yang nods his heads to all at their requests.

Greatly grateful that this sect has become his home.
