Chapter 10 Who is the Beast? Who is the Cub?

After everything, everyone has settled down, Wei Ying though is still sniffing, Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze has finally ready to answer their questions: What happened during their Night-Hunt four years ago?

Their prey is the man-eating Baihu, it was about to emerge when they found it. Unfortunately, they couldn't able to kill it, nevertheless Cangse Sanren has able to sealed it and now it currently sleeping. They didn't go much into the details, as their savior warned them not to.

Who is their savior?

"My teacher Baoshan Sanren."

Baoshan Sanren is a legendary cultivator who have able to reach immortality many years ago. It was said that she is living in a mountain called Celestial Mountain, location unknown. She's supposedly only a myth to inspired younger generation to be earnest into studying cultivation, in the end with the existence of two cultivators claiming they are from Celestial Mountain, the myth becomes real, thus increased the goalers.

But it was said that once the disciples left the mountain, they are no longer welcome to come back. It's kind of coldhearted, but it is Baoshan Sanren's rules. After all she hates people and their ugliness. She only welcomes those she picks and worth becoming immortal.

That being said, it become a big question to the people present in the room as of why Baoshan Sanren took in Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze back in Celestial Mountain and bring them back into health. Does she just really care for Cangse Sanren?

Even Cangse Sanren herself cannot answer it.

"It'll be nice if I could meet her..."

Tiao Shun teasingly asked, "Wanna go in Nirvana bro Ying?"

"Ahhhh... hmmm.... If Lan Zhan and you all will be there with me why not!"

"Easy to say than done..."

Jiang Cheng shouts at him, "Naive!" pointing his finger. "Do you really think it is easy to reach enlightenment?! If it's the case, then my parents should have been immortals!"

Tiao Shun narrows her eyes towards the Jiang young master, obviously not amused. She sighs, "Bro Ying why do you want to meet Baoshan Sanren?" she chose to ignore the negative thinker boy.

"Ah! So, I could thank her for saving my parents!"

The Jiangs were dumbfounded, such a simple reason and yet this makes the rest smiles, thinking it is so typical of him, even Jiang Fengmian smiles. Although Madam Yu and her son wasn't amused by how simple thinking Wei Ying is.

Madam Yu, "So simple, so naive, is this what the ZhuQue could produce?"

Madam Lan, "I don't see anything wrong with it."

'Madam Yu never change and seems like her son has same temperament as her.' Tiao Shun sighs, and stand up, giving her salutation to the founders of her sect which getting everyone's attention away from the madam of Jiang. "I believe we haven't introduced ourselves to the great founders of our sect, I am Tiao Shun, daughter of Tiao Liujuan, it's pleasure to be in your presence and welcome back."

Realizing that indeed they haven't introduced themselves to some certain people, Wei Ying, Myo Ning and Cong Liu stand up as well. Myo Ning and Cong Liu salutes at the Wei couple.

"My name is Myo Ning, adopted relative of Myo Juan."

"I'm Cong Liu, adopted son of Cong Guixiu."

Then along with Wei Ying they also gave their salutes to the Jiangs,

"Thank you for your presence in our sect today, the name's Wei Ying, son of Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze."

Lan Qiren nodded, "Talk about manners."

Cangse Sanren, "You two are adopted by Juan and Gui?"

"Yes."

Myo Ning, "It is just not me in my case Madam Wei. My relatives from Dafan were all adopted by Myo Family... actually by Brother Ying."

"Adopted... by A-Ying?"

Cong Liu, "Not on my case though..."

Tiao Shun, "Is that so? All this time I thought you were saved by Bro Ying and he proposed you to join here."

Once again, they all settle down, except to Madam Yu who has been itching on her mat since seeing Tiao Shun, she stands and with a flick on her sleeves Madam Yu takes their attention.

"Tiao Shun I heard that you have gotten arrogant!"

The girl tilts her head in confusion.

Madam Lan, "Strong not arrogant."

Cangse Sanren, "The only arrogant here is you Ziyuan~"

"Shut up!" Madam Yu then turns back to Tiao Shun who is whispering things to Wei Ying and the other kids.

"A week after father brought me here, she came here with her son and make me fight Young Master Jiang."

Wei Ying, "A week? Then you haven't even recovered from your grandparents'—" Tiao Shun nodded.

"She doesn't care, and I don't actually know how I ended up fighting him. I lost though."

Cong Liu, "Of course you will. You don't know anything about protecting yourself much more fighting."

"I bet that's the first time you hold a sword."

"You bet, shit!"

"Listen to me, kid!" the kids all focus on her.

Lan Qiren while stroking his goatee, "At least show some manners even she's a kid."

"Actually, I once saw her in Yilling way back then, and I'm so scare to her, she's like a beast that wanted to devour just anything in her sight! I run away in fright!"

Wei Changze and Tiao Liujuan who are sitting each of the children's sides and could hear what they are talking snickers quietly. Wei Changze pats Wei Ying's head.

Tiao Shun hide half of her lower face and speak her agreement about Madam Yu being a beast.

Madam Yu, "Tiao Shun I want to see how much you improved. Fight my son, if you win, you'll marry him—"

"Then consider me defeated!"

"Wha—! So, it just some stupid rumors!"

"What is rumor?"

"You gotten stronger! Are you even listening?!"

"I ask for Madam Yu to calm yourself, I simply asking which is you meant? I thought a stupid rumor about me wanting to marry someone has spread behind my back, and that's what I want to clear. Well... about me getting strong is kind of... I don't know! Did I get strong?"

"You—playing humble just makes you sounded arrogant." Lan Zhan informs.

Lan Huan, "Just the truth, after all you're really strong."

Again, everyone tries to suppress their laughs, while the Jiangs are yet again dumbfounded especially Jiang Cheng.

Recently, he been meeting many people, both adults and children being frank towards the well-known fierce some mom of his. But Jiang Cheng isn't amused, seeing their behaviors disrespectful, and his mother doesn't deserve such a treatment. Jiang Cheng grips his robe, swearing he will pulverize the girl, which is their pride, to show them that the Jiang Clan is the strongest sect.

They went out the room, and outside is the perfect area to let the kids fight.

Tiao Shun, "Is any weapon fine? Or it has to be a sword?"

Madam Yu, "Anything is fine."

"You sure?"

"Of course!"

Wei Ying, "Is Young Master Jiang already can use spiritual energy?"

"Of course, he is, after all A-Cheng is a genius!"

Wei Ying hmm quietly, the other children are not amused.

Cong Liu, "How are we going to determine the result?"

"Surrendering or falling down."

Cong Liu, "It is alright if they won't hold back?"

Myo Ning, "Wh—what would happen if they got fracture?"

"Worried to your son?" Wei Changze asked almost silently to Jiang Fengmian.

"Yea, after all she's Tiao Liujuan's daughter with her, and I know how scary his wife's bloodline. But more than that I see this as an opportunity to teach my son and wife a thing or two."

Xingxiu Caipi, "Madam Yu is using spiritual energy allow?"

"If it will relief you alright then, but my A-Cheng will surely crash your hopes."

No one answer.

"You ready A-Shun?" she nodded, to her shock she received slaps on her back from the other children, even Lan Zhan joins in.

Tiao Shun blinks then smile, "Woah! Even Second Young Master Lan gives his support!"

"Wei Ying will be sad if he lost his partner in crime."

"'Partner in crime' Where did you exactly get that word Second Young Master Lan?"

"Uncle."

Everyone narrows their eyes on the said Lan goatee uncle.

"But then shouldn't you instead support Young Master Jiang? I mean don't you want to remove any potential rival?"

"You are not rival."

Tiao Shun scoffs. "Glad you aren't thinking that way!"

Wei Ying, "Rival? You two are rivals? In what?"

Tiao Shun and the rest glance at clueless Wei Ying, and all sighs.

"Goodluck Second Young Master Lan, it will surely take time."

"Indeed." Wei Ying tilts.

Tiao Shun jumps over the fence and walks towards the center of clear field, and yawns behind her sleeves.

Jiang Cheng did the same, hand on his sword.

Seeing this Tiao Shun pulls out a fan.

Xingxiu Caipi, "After this, shall we give her courtesy name as a reward?"

Ko Shun'U, "That's a good idea!"

Myo Juan, "Any idea what would suit her Liu?"

"I already have."

"Sis Shun! After this you gonna have courtesy name!" Wei Ying yells, enthusiastically.

The adults smile at their chatterbox, all except Madam Yu.

"Ready?"

Jiang Cheng posed, ready to draw his sword.

Tiao Shun eyes sharpen.

"GO!"

Jiang Cheng made the first move, he dashes towards Tiao Shun drawing his sword at the same time, but she able to blocks him using her fan and with a swift movement she able to make Jiang Cheng fall down while she stays on her feet, glaring at him.

This shocks Cangse Sanren, Wei Changze and the Jiang couple, while Tiao Liujuan smiles.

What amazing is Tiao Shun done this without opening her fan nor even use spiritual energy.

He gets back up on his feet and attacks again, this time fiercer but Tiao Shun just blocks him. She narrows her eyes, staring at the blade on her fan.

"Hey use your spiritual energy or else Madam Yu nor any of the adults would accept the end result."

"You! Stop belittling me!" Jiang Cheng yells, completely mad and frustrated, that he feed his sword with his spiritual energy.

"Belittle you?" Tiao Shun tilts her head, unfazed "Who? Me? Have you heard your mom? Aren't Madam Yu always, ALWAYS flunking around how you defeated me four years ago? How the genius and most talented Young Master of Jiang has defeated a disciple in ZhuQue sect. I do hope nothing gets in your head." Tiao Shun parries his sword, she then finally opens her fan and fed it with her mana, and she raises it and fanned it down, sending strong gust of wind towards Jiang Cheng.

The Young Master of Jiang tries fight off the blow but failed, as he lost his touch on the ground and rolls, getting himself separated to his sword and bell.

The strong wind eases as soon as Tiao Shun closed her fan and eases her spiritual energy.

Wei Changze, Jiang Fengmian and Cangse Sanren were amazed.

The Zhuque members and the Lans smiles, Lan Qiren nodded and Lan Huan claps.

Madam Yu has reddened face, like a volcano that was about to explode.

"My madam A-Cheng has fought greatly."

"He lost..."

"That just means he has more room to grow."

Madam Yu breathe deeply and sighs it out, finally calming herself she went to her son and hug him. Giving him praises while patting his back, while the boy cries on his mother's embrace.

Tiao Shun hides her fan, and gives her salute on the Jiangs, then walk towards her family, smiling at them. She received a pat in the head from her father.

No one say anything, they didn't shout to the world their celebration for her win as they know how much it will affect the Madam and son.

Several hours have passed, and finally the atmosphere inside the guest room where everyone is, has lifted even for a little.

"Oh that's right!" Wei Ying gains all of their attentions, "Madam Yu—ahh no—It is Madam Jiang now!"

'Madam Jiang' has become the medal of defeat for Jiang Cheng that it made him hate himself.

"What?"

"Well... do you perhaps knows Lady Jiang Yanli?"

Madam Yu frowns, "She's my daughter!"

"Oh is that so..."

"Yea, so?"

"Ah... right, she's actually in the Zhen now."

"Zhen?"

"House of Zhen, it is our medical station."

"Medi—wait! Why A-Li is in your medical station?!"

"She's with Jin Zixuan when we found them being surrounded by living corpses."

Other than the Jiangs, Tiao Shun and Myo Ning come along in worry that Madam Yu cause a big fuss, and it was exactly what's happening by the time they arrived at a chamber, because Myo Qing has her arms spread wide and not letting them in.

Myo Juan, "What's wrong A-Qing."

"The patient is sleeping please don't disturb her."

"Please Madam Yu calm down. A-Qing how's Lady Jiang?"

"She's alright now, the corpse poison has already been dispelled, and she's sleeping away her tiredness."

Tiao Shun narrows her eyes to Myo Qing, having a feeling she's lying but she didn't say a thing about it.

"Madam Jiang..." Madam Yu glares at Tiao Shun, "She's safe now and resting, let's let her have peace to be able to recover quickly. Also... the Zhen has rules that no noise much more louder ones, to let the patients to rest properly."

Inside the chamber, indeed Myo Qing is lying about Jiang Yanli being asleep as she is sitting on her bed right now with blush and is having a sincere talk with Jin Zixuan who has really red face.
