24: Baseline
A grunt escaped from the dried lips of a guy that laid back on the bed, getting his senses back slowly.
Fluttering his eyelids to remove the blurriness, he sat straight with the support of his arms but quickly hissing at the sudden pain struck in his leg when he moved a little.
"Where am I?"
He gulped down the nervousness and looked around the large room with creamy curtains still put on, blocking the rays of sun. The room was pretty much simple but was giving a rich look.
"I see you woke up."
Flinching at the sudden voice, the guy snapped his head back at the bathroom door.
He was taken aback after seeing the unfamiliar tall man covered in royal blue coloured robe, walking towards the closet while ruffling his wet hair.
"W-who are you?"
"Oh, I'm Kim SeokJin. You can call me Doc Kim too." The man introduced himself with a wink before taking out his clothes and tugged them on the hanger one by one.
"But...why I am here? I don't remember-" Hoseok paused and looked at his leg gradually remembering those last moments before he fainted.
"Yep. You blacked out in front of me and asked me to save you, which I did."
SeokJin nodded his head and poured a glass of water before handing it to him.
"You were bleeding badly and taking you to hospital would have taken a long time so I treated you here in this room."
He further explained wanting to answer all his questions.
"Thank....you."
Hoseok muttered and sighed deeply, drinking the cold water easing his unnoticed dry throat.
"Now, tell me what's your name and how you ended up in that state?"
Dragging the chair near the bed, SeokJin sat on it and eyed the injured man with curiosity and a slight excitement.
"Um....I...My name is Jung Mingyu. And....."
Hoseok lied to him.
He was hesitant to reveal about his identity and the incident with the so-called police officer to a stranger that did saved his life and he is grateful for that but still, it wasn't a good decision according to him.
It didn't fit right with him.
"I-I don't remember. Some goons were behind me to steal my money and phone." Hoseok ultimately came up with a lie, not entirely sure that the man in front of him will digest this.
SeokJin had his eyebrows raised at Hoseok in amusement for few seconds before humming loudly while nodding his head.
"I see. Well, there are some local gangs around the alleys that you were in where they rob people. I also had one incident like that but I dealt with it."
Hoseok's gut feeling kicked in with the rushing feeling of uneasiness flowing through his veins after catching that menacing smirk dominating the man's flawless and handsome face.
"Anyways."
SeokJin abruptly stood up with a bright smile instantly changing his creepy demeanour into a bright one and walked towards the hanger picking up his clothes one by one.
"After breakfast, I'll drive you to the nearby hospital before going on my way back to Busan."
He informed and returned back inside the bathroom.
"Busan, he say."
Hoseok whispered under his breath before laying back on the bed, intently eyeing the ceiling while running his thoughts.

The little boy looked at the locket that he held protectively in his palm lost in his own world.
Swinging his legs while he sat on the wooden bench placed at the crown of the garden under the shade of a large tree, Junwoo was unaware of the presence that was nearing him.
"Hey! Can we talk?"
You popped your smiling face in front of him, scaring the shit out of the kid who almost fall out of the bench.
"No." He answered and folded his arms, looking to other side to avoid your figure.
Realizing that Junwoo was still angry, you kneeled down before holding out your ears, making him startled in surprise.
"I'm really sorry, Junwoo. Can you please forgive your new stupud aunt?"
You pouted and tilted head, eyeing him apologetically.
"I...N-No." He puffed his cheeks and again turned his head away from you.
You pursued lips in thin line and sighed before speaking again.
"You were right. It was mannerless of me to go through your stuffs without permission. My parents didn't teach me how to respect someone's privacy."
"Why....?"
Junwoo lowly muttered.
You slightly chuckled and sat beside Junwoo who was fully facing you in confusion.
"Well, they left me all alone when I was just a kid and went somewhere. A place from where they can never return back."
"They died? How....?"
Raising your eyebrows in surprise, you looked at his gloomy face wondering how a five year kid could make out the meaning from your indirect words.
You didn't wanted to mention the 'death' word in front of the child.
"I was 3 years old when they got into a car accident at midnight after receiving a call for emergency in hospital.
My parents were doctors."
You faintly remember the scene of police cars arriving at your house in morning. Though you were just three at that time unaware of the fact that your parents are dead.....you waited for them even after the funeral was held.
It was naive of you.
Waiting for them to return from a endless long journey, that's what people said to you.
"You lived alone after that?"
A gloomy emotion masked Junwoo's face feeling bad for the little you in past.
You shook your head before speaking again rethinking about those years after your parents passed away.
"Since my parents were busy because of their profession, they had a nanny to take care of me. And after they were gone, she kind-off adopted me and raised me. The thing was....my parent's relatives were not in good terms with them....So, my nanny had to take me in."
"But who knew that her smiling face has a deep hidden motive behind it."
Lost in your thoughts and emotions of past, you continued speaking not realizing you were saying all this to a kid.
"She took me in not because she pitied me but her dirty eyes were on my parent's money. All the property and money was given to her in order to take care of me. Honestly, she was a devil in disguise. There were so many days where I used to remain starve of hunger and thirst and I cried till I lose my voice."
"Fortunately she was atleast paying for my education until in my first year of college, she died of heart attack. I won't deny I cried like hell, yeah she was cruel and careless but still she was my second mother....my only family that also left me."
You lowered your head as a tear slide down your rough cheeks.
"I had lost hope of finding people whom I could call my family beside my nanny. Until I found two amazing gems. Jung Lia and......Min Yoongi....B-But...t-they too—"
"You should stop mourning over them already."
You whipped your head towards side, baffled to see Jungkook sitting beside you holding the cigarette near his lips that was carved into a smirk.
There was no sign of Junwoo.
"It has been days since I killed them. It's kind of annoying you know. And it's really irresponsible of telling your so-called sad stories to a kid."
He finished and released the puffed smoke from his lips, tossing away the cigarette on the grass below him before he crushed it with his boots.
"Jeon Y/n, my dear wife. It would be best if you keep this little mouth shut especially in front of Junwoo. And if not-"
You clutched the seat tight when he leaned near your face, looking straight at your lips.
"I'll make sure to shut them.
Forever."

Jimin sighed looking at the scene in front of him in the back garden through the huge glass door.
Sliding back the dark persian coloured curtains to cover the door, he turned around on his foot to walk near the small bar table, putting his phone on it.
"I have to tell Yuna to not let Junwoo alone with that women even for a millisecond." Mumbling under his breath, he poured himself a glass of white wine.
Few minutes ago, when Jimin entered in his room while having a conversation with SeokJin about how the deal of your clinic and apartment went, he noticed his son in the garden through the glass door all alone with you.
That made his heartbeat faster, worried if you are telling him about incidents that happened in these days and how they killed your friends.
He was about to make a run outside but at that moment Jungkook appeared from behind the tree and quietly held Junwoo's hand motioning him to go inside. He slightly pushed him forward and waited till Junwoo reached near the door and finally sat down on the seat with a smirk continuing listening to you, pulling out his hidden burned cigarette that he was puffing behind the tree all this time.
Though now you are married to his brother and have become a part of this family but he doesn't trust you at all. Who knows what must be going on in your head to escape again or bring more trouble to them?
Maybe you are thinking to poison their food to kill them or use his naive son against them as a hostage?
There is no doubt that you won't be sitting idly, accepting your purpose and traditions.
He knows that for sure.
~Buzz!
Eyeing his phone that lit up showing the message notification, sipping the wine fully before he checked the inbox message of SeokJin.

He replied and scrolled up for any new messages that he missed before, only to see a photo of your unconscious state when you and Lia were brought by their men.
SeokJin send this photo on the night when Jungkook found out you were the chosen one for him.
Zooming at your face, he chuckled and muttered lowly with threatening voice.
"Do anything to my family and see what happens with you, Lee Y/n."
****
"What? Why do you want to know?"
Yuna confusingly eyed your figure that was cleaning the utensils after serving the lunch.
"Its fine if you don't want to tell-"
You answered thinking Mother might have ordered her not to disclose this particular information to you.
"No. It's not like that, I was just surprised honestly you asking about the three out of blue."
She shook her head and leaned against the wall near the fridge.
"Well, those three do go to city from time to time. Taehyung manages the family buisness of property dealings, so most of the time he is not at home. Jungkook....he handles....some stuff and Jimin mostly stays at home but sometimes he do accompany people to city."
You took in all the information about the three and hesitantly asked one more question.
"The buisness must be in Seoul, right? Making deals of properties would be quick-money making since it's an expensive city."
"No. It's in Busan only. If the family buisness would have been in Seoul, we would have shifted there only. But, yeah he does tell me sometimes that Seoul is a good place to make profits."
She smiled and helped you to keep the washed utensils on their places while you slightly smiled, atleast finding a little about your whereabouts.
'So, I am still in Busan but a little away from the main city.'
You thought and wiped your hands on the apron.
Taking a moment of breath while Yuna obliged to arrange stuffs, you glanced above at the clock striking 5:34 pm.
Since the last encounter with Jungkook, you actually tried to look for Junwoo but he was nowhere within your sight.
Yuna then informed you that he has gone out with his father since mid-noon.
It was less tiresome to prepare lunch only for three people, the three women including you in the house while the men of the house were out.
"It must be really hard for you, right?"
A soft mumble errupted from the lady besids you.
You turned your head towards her finding her looking at you with those pitiful and sorrowful eyes, rubbung her palms together with head down.
"You doing all these household works, cleaning up, washing dishes, making meal for the whole family all alone was never in your mind while you were preparing to become a doctor."
Ouch!
That pinched you to the core.
The reality hits you back again.
Hard. Harder than anything.
Fuck yeah.
You weren't dreaming a future like this.
Nobody ever do.
Getting kidnapped.
Seeing your friends getting killed.
Forcefully being married to the murderer.
Becoming a part of some cult-tradition shit like family.
And-
Becoming a maid for them.
No way, you studied all day - night and put your heart, soul, sweat, blood into the medical profession and got that goddamn degree just to wash utensils and clothes of these bunch of psychopathic murderers.
"I really wish I could do something for you, Y/n."
She sadly sighed.
"You can but you don't do, you are only doing things what Mother is asking ypu to do. Look out for me, Keep an eye on me, on my every move. In order to not bring trouble to you all."
Unfortunately, you let your mind speak out loud sharply on her face that dropped down as guilt spread instantly, her not even trying to hide it away.
"It's....Y/n I really......I am sorry......I really am....but I genuinely care about you. I Do." Yuna clutched her chest when a tear slipped down her cheek, creating a knot in your throat.
Not saying anything more, she walked out and followed the stairs upwards, entering her room leaving heavy silence lingering in the whole house.
