"...leave me alone!" he screamed.

I pick up my phone, letting it drag me from my thoughts.

"Hello?" I ask, not bothering to ask who had called.

"Uh, hey." Nico.

I move my legs over my bed and bend over, listening intently.

"Hey, what's up, Neeks?" I try to sound bright and cheerful, but I didn't. Not after our little argument yesterday.

"Did you hear about Jason?" he asks in a serious tone--more serious than usual.

"No, what about Jason?" I ask, brows furrowed.

"He was in a car accident. Minor injuries, but out of school for a week to heal." he explains.

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah."

"We should go visit him!"

"Uh, okay, I guess that's not a bad idea. When?"

"I'll ask Piper-"

"Piper has been with him the whole time."

"Okay, then I guess later tonight. I'll pick you up. Is that okay?"

"Yeah, sure."

"Okay, see you soon, Neeks!"

"Bye."

I end our call and think for a minute. Jason's in a hospital, but he's okay. Thank the gods. I'm picking Nico up from his house to visit him. I can be alone with Nico, fix whatever damage was caused yesterday, and buy Jasey a teddy bear in the process! Perfect!

I smile, relief.
