Chapter 2

🌹 The Decided Fate 🌹

"Loneliness is my least favorite thing about life. The thing that I'm most worried about is just being alone without anybody to care for or someone who will care for me." -Anne Hathaway

"Alpha Seth," I looked away from the paperwork I had been so efficiently completing before rudely interrupted by my Beta's voice, "may I speak with you?" I mumbled a yes, though I had no intention of being nice about it.

Dylan walked in, giving me a smile as if he had to suck up to me. I narrowed my eyes, "What did you do?" I asked him. Of course he was up to something. No one smiles unless they want something out of it.

Dylan shifted nervously under my intense stare, and yeah, I did it on purpose. How else do you keep an annoying and secretive Beta in line? You use the "Alpha stare", made through generations of practice just to get it to perfection. And damn right I had it down.

"Well. . . Evelyn Rose has arrived, I swear I didn't do anything." I let out a sigh, though it may have sounded more like a grunt. "She is in her room currently. Sleeping. Shall I have a maid assigned to her?"

I ran a hand through my hair, resting my elbows on my desk, interlocking my fingers before nodding to his question, "You will have her working first thing tomorrow. No excuses. Unless she is dying, dying, or dying. I will not tolerate disobedience. Make sure to tell her that." I said in a hard voice. I had to keep my pack in order. And if that meant taking care of disobedient she-wolves, it would be done.

Dylan seemed to understand, briskly leaving my office, closing the door behind him. I looked back down at my paperwork. I had forgotten where I left off.

"Damn it." I cussed under my breath, standing up from my chair. This was crap, I wasn't doing work now that I had been snatched from my focus. So I might as well leave it for later. When I wasn't pissed off about losing the ability for hard work to be done.

I walked out of my office, glaring at a group of she-wolves huddled near my door. They all squealed, giggling as if my look was a joke. It wasn't. I closed my door, sighing as I began to walk the opposite direction of the females. I may not seem like the type of guy who doesn't want a relationship. But I hated the idea. Love was an illusion the mind decided was real. Bullcrap was what my rational mind decided.

She-wolves pledged to change me. Make me feel love, because the goddess knew how much I need that. Not even an inch of affection was acceptable. I was alone, and I was cool with that. That was my choice, much to my pack's displeasure. Not every pack needs a Luna, that's just stupid. A pack as strong as mine- Black Tide Pack -does not need a she-wolf to comfort and nurture them. That is something called being weak. Nope, not my pack.

"Alpha Seth!" a small voice called out to me. I slowly come to a stop, turning to look at Linnea- our kitchen head -who had stopped with heavy breaths.

"Do you need something Linnea?" I asked in a dry tone, staring at her for an answer to all her distress. She quickly tucked a loose strand of blond hair behind her ear, looking down from my gaze.

"W-well. . . they're doing it again." she answered shyly. I knew exactly what she meant.

My wolf let out a growl as I left her side in a hurry to the training clearing.

"This is the fifth time! This time we'll make sure to crack their damn necks!" my wolf hissed. I didn't listen to him. I was not going to kill any member of my pack because they were too stupid to understand what they were doing pissed me off. So I'd just have to show them.

I stormed into the room, the door slamming shut behind me. All eyes instantly snapped in my direction. I narrowed my own at the sight before me.

"Ian, come here." I demanded, my tone cold and harsh.

Ian Renford. He was one of our Omegas. The only Omega that was beaten by the others on normal occasions. Though the reason was unknown to me.

"Five times to be exact." my wolf reminded me.

The injured Omega hurried away from the others, his nose bloody and his brown eyes innocent and hurt. They were bullying their own packmate. And now that I was angry, I wasn't going to tell them to stop- because that obviously didn't work -I was going to show them what pain felt like.

"Who's idea was this?" I growled, hearing my voice echo in the silence. All of the boys looked at each other until Mason stepped forward. He had a smug look on his face. I could just feel my anger rise at how he looked like he hadn't just hurt another.

I smiled, which seemed to confuse their simple minds. Mason was the first to tense up at my apparent joy. Which made me smile more.

"So, who wants to go first?" I questioned cheerfully, cracking my knuckles, "Mason? Since you were so kind as to beat a hole in my Omega's face, I'm sure you'd love to have some real training. I mean, what else is this room for? Let's see how much blood I can draw from your guts." my wolf let out a low growl, I could just feel my eyes change to the beautiful gold they were known for.

Everyone in the room backed away from me. Including Ian who I was currently "protecting". I was just trying to make a point. That they would listen to me, or I'd show them hell.

"We're sorry Alpha, we were out of line." Mason said, lowering his head in submission as did the rest. My wolf huffed, pleased that he was able to keep his packmates in line just by intimidation.

"I want you all to listen very carefully to what I'm about to say. Especially you Mason," I said my eyes changing back to their original color. "if I see you hurt another packmate. In my command, I'll make sure your hands hurt so much you won't be able to use them. That's a promise. Let this be a warning to all of you. I won't take your sh-t anymore. Act like the proud werewolves all of you are."

And with that said, I walked out of the room, making sure to grab my Omega in the process. Leave him alone, and death would be waiting for him. They would blame my anger on him and then he'd be screwed. Not that he wasn't already.

"T. . . Th. . ." Ian started, his eyes low and his body so submissive I wasn't even sure he could've be any less intimidating without being a human.

"Thank you are the words you are looking for. And my response is: you need to get your crap together. I'm not protecting your ass all the damn time. Do I look like a babysitter? No. And I won't be one. Do you understand?" I paused, waiting for an answer, but before he could stutter only a few words that he would want to say I answered for him, "Yes Alpha Seth. I understand that I am a pathetic Omega who needs to stop pretending I'm a human because I will die if I don't stand up for myself. Thanks so much for the lecture. Well you're F-in' welcome."

Ian gave me a hurt expression, but he knew I was right. He knew I wasn't always going to be around to protect him. That's the first step, next is training your ass off so you can be the "beater" instead of the "beaten".

I walked off again. I didn't need to say any more than I had already. Let the words speak for themselves, right?

I headed back to my office, ready for some good work to be done. Hey, it was better then dealing with little children.

Why was it always my pack?
