“Vanessa Fence. The Luna is Vanessa Fence.” He said. I don’t think my eyes could widen or bulge out anymore than they had at those words.

“I’m the Luna.”

“Yes. That necklace proves it.”

“Okay. So that would make you…would make you the…the…” I just couldn’t spit it out.

“Alpha? Yes. I am the Alpha of The Moonlight Forest Pack.”

Okay so lets see. First I get hit with the news that Werewolves are real. Then I get hit again with the fact that my hated enemy is one of them. Then I think its a dream to find out it wasn’t. Then I find out I’m his Mate.

God I kept going over everything I’ve ever learned about Werewolves in the books I’ve read and I could only come up with that solution. And Caleb confirmed it for me. When our hands touched…I swear with the electricity going through me that if anyone had touched me I would have killed them. But I didn’t take my hand away at the first touch.

When we kissed I could have sworn our lips were on fire, and I don’t even want to think about what I was thinking. He didn’t let it last long and I was grateful. It felt like how everything should when you kiss someone you love but there were two things that felt off about it. The first was how can my first kiss be like that with someone I barely know? And the second was how could my first kiss be stolen by the person I have hated most since Kindergarten?

The biggest blow I have to say is learning he was Alpha and I was Luna. This kind of thing really only happens in my books.

“Are you alright Vanessa?”

“I’m still not sure this is real.”

“I could mark you as mine. That way when you wake up, from this day on, you will know you’re mine and that none of this was a dream. I could do that if you want.”

“Doesn’t that involve the mating process Caleb?”

“Not until you’re ready. I just have to bite your shoulder.”

“I think I just need time Caleb. I’m also very tired and I’m not sure I’ll remember all of this when I wake up. I don’t want to forget and then wonder why I have a bite mark.” I sat down on my bed and laid down against my pillows.

“You can have time Vanessa. I will ease you into all of this again tomorrow. I would sleep here with you but I don’t think that would be a good thing either.”

“Yeah and my Grand-mama is the one who wakes me up in the morning.”

“Okay then. I will see you tomorrow. Where will you be?”

“I’m going to the movies with Sam. Since my Birthdays on a Holiday we always go the day after to celebrate.” I could feel myself falling into the realm of dreams as I spoke. I yawned as Caleb pulled the covers over me.

“Okay I think I will surprise a forgetful you tomorrow at the movies.”

“Okay. Night Caleb.” I said almost asleep. The only reason I know he kissed me is the shocks I felt on my forehead.

“Good night my Luna.”

…

“Good Morning Vanessa!” My Grand-mama yelled.

“Morning Grand-mama. You can go wake up Katy.” I crawled out of bed to find myself still in my Red Riding Hood costume. I looked at the crushed velvet and found something off. Black fur.

“Hey Nymeria?” She crawled over to my side. “Is this your fur?” She shook her head telling me no. I thought it over and stared at my reflection in the mirror in case I could see anything else off about me other than I slept in my costume. I got up to the necklace around my neck and suddenly it all came back to me.

The wolf. Caleb. The kiss. Me being Luna. Even as I think back on it I can’t help but think its a dream but I know in my gut it was real, and I’m going to be seeing him today at the movies.

The ringing of my Skype brought me out of my thoughts. I went to answer it and found that it was a group call from Arthur and Sam. I accepted it but something seemed off. When I went to look at my contacts I found out why. Someone, cough cough Caleb cough cough, had sent himself a contact request and accepted it when he got home.

“Vanessa!” I heard my two best friends yell together.

“Geez sorry I saw that I have a contact request and I was curious, but that’s no reason to scream my ears off.”

“Yeah whatever. We still on for movies today?” Sam questioned

“Yeah. Of course why wouldn’t I be?”

“Have you seen Caleb’s page?”

“Why would I have seen Caleb’s page, Artie?”

“Don’t call me that, and Caleb says he’s going to surprise an old friend there. Guess he finally figured out that you go there with us every November 1st.”

“Like clockwork Artie.”

“I just told Vanessa not to call me that do I really have to tell you too Sam?”

“Caleb didn’t mention who or why right?”

“Are you feeling alright Vanessa? You have never cared about Caleb.”

“Yeah well I just don’t want him to have figured out that it was my birthday yesterday. It would give him more ammo for him and his goons to fire at me.”

“It would, but no, he didn’t specify who and why.”

“Okay. I hope he doesn’t notice me.”

“I hope he doesn’t get in my way or else I will be beating up his pretty boy face for calling me a druggie yesterday.”

“Calm down Cujo.”

“Nice one Vanessa. And it fits in more than one way.”

“Okay now you guys are just being mean. I’m leaving. Bye Artie, bye Bitch!”

“Bye Sam.” We said together.

“So now that she’s gone wanna video?”

“Yeah let’s do it…although I did fall asleep in my costume last night.” A moment later both our video’s were playing and I could see Arthur in his room with out a shirt.

“So. I heard what happened last night.”

“What happened Arthur?”

“I hear you’re my new Luna.”

“You heard huh? Well its true, see. I’m wearing the necklace?”

“Well I guess we’ll find out today if I’m your protector or not. I hear that we’ll feel tingles like if we were mates just not as strong if we are.”

“Well I guess we can find out today.”

“Yeah.”

“Is being Luna really so dangerous that I need a protector?”

“It can be depending on the pack your Luna for. Our pack has its fair share of enemies but nothing we can’t protect you from.”

“Good. Well like little mis Cujo I got to get ready. Bye Arthur!”

“Bye Luna.”

“I hate you.” Arthur just laughed so I ended the call on him. I am going to hit him every time he calls me that…even if he is a werewolf.

I got up and went into the bathroom. Might as well make sure I’m smelling nice for my werewolf boyfriend. I’m pretty sure they have heightened senses so I don’t want any BO. After I got out of my shower I smelled like the ocean. I quickly blow dried my hair and curled it slightly.

I put on my best jeans and my favorite black shirt. The shirt wasn’t plain though. My grandmother got it for Christmas for me last year. It has a printed on ‘Hello my name is’ sticker and to finish the joke it says ‘Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.’ The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies. That’s where I learned how to rhyme, rather cornily I might add.

I put on my favorite tried and true fedora and I was ready to go. No sooner had I put together my purse, with wallet, ice breakers, and phone inside, did the all to familiar horn sound from outside.

“Bye Grandma, Bye Katy! See you later!”

“Have fun!” They both chimed from the living room. I could hear the song ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ playing in the background and I knew they were watching Katy’s favorite movie, Mary Poppins.

I ran out to Sam’s Dark Green Jeep Wrangler and hopped in the back seat since she had picked up Arthur first. “I thought the Birthday Girl gets priority seating Arthur?”

“Ah but today isn’t your Birthday is it?”

“But…”

“Answer the question, Van.” I know I’m beat, but I’m not going to take this sitting down. I leaned forward to whisper in his ear.

“How about priority seating for the Luna?”

“You know I dislike you right?”

“Maybe.”

“To bad for you Ness that I’m already on the road so it no longer matters.”

“Fine. So what are we going to see today?”

“We’re going to watch Real Steal at noon. Then it’s Footloose at 2:15 so we have to run from one movie to the next. And last, but certainly not least, help with the drum roll Arthur?”

“Of course.” They both banged on what they could reach to make a fake drum roll and they took what felt like hours to stop. They both turned to look at me, don’t worry by that time we had parked in the movie theater’s parking garage, and screamed out the title.

“Puss in Boots!” They knew me too well.

“Seriously?! I love Puss! He is so cute!” I said dragging out the ‘o’ in so.

“We know.” They said in unison. We opened up our doors and started climbing out. As I was about to Arthur showed up holding out his hand to help me down, although most likely to find out if he was my protector.

“You ready to find out?” I whispered.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” With those words I took his hand. I feel tingles going up to my elbow but they aren’t as strong as the ones I feel with Caleb.

“Protect me well, Arthur.”

“I plan on it.”

“Now all we have to do is wait for Sam to shift.”

“Lord. God help whoever has to deal with her anger first, after the shift and all.”

“I might just make you do it.”

“Come on slowpokes.” Sam cried from the back of the car.

After paying for our tickets we ran to our movie theater since it was almost noon. We made it in time to see three more trailers before the movie started. It was most definitely a Arthur movie with all the tech stuff to it, and Sam was more interested in the fighting than the storyline. I found it really cool and I think I was the only one of the trio to actually focus on the storyline.

We ran to the next movie theater as the credits ended, we always sit through them in case of anything at the end of the credits. We got there to see the last half of a trailer before the movie started. It was really cool, but not one I would say that I loved out loud seeing as I have a reputation of bad ass outcast to keep up.

I guess my bad ass act got spoiled when I ran while jumping up and down into the Puss and boots movie around two hours later. I sat down in one of the center seats making sure I would get a good view.

“Calm down Vanessa.” Sam said from my right.

“I can’t! I love Puss in Boots! My cat is going to have a couple pairs of his own boots.” Hey I’m allowed one obsession and this is it.

“Oh lord.” Arthur spoke up from my left.

“Call animal control now. Those poor things are going to get loved to death.”

“No call Guinness or Ripley’s because she’s going to have the first army of cats who know how to walk on hind legs.”

“Hey I’m only going to have two at most and I’m not going to teach them how to walk on their hind legs.”

“Sure you won’t.” They said in unison. I just rolled my eyes as the credits started rolling.

I walked out of the theater one very happy cat person. We started walking to the concession stand so we could get something to eat really quick before going home.

“Vanessa. Stay back here for a minute.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m trying to protect you from something.”

“Well I’m hungry so you’re just going to have to protect me while we’re in line.” Arthur made a grab to hold me back, but I was already rushing off to get in line. That’s when I saw it.

“I was trying to keep you from that.” Arthur said from behind me.

“So you would rather me be oblivious to the fact that my boyfriend is eating some other girl’s tongue? What happens if he gets someone pregnant Arthur? Going to keep the child hidden from me?”

“Calm down Vanessa. Not everyone in here is a werewolf and your voice is getting louder.”

“Ugh will you look at that? Looks like Caleb got a new girlfriend for the night. Let’s bail Ness, no need to be infected.”

“Yeah let’s go. I’m no longer hungry. Actually, I need to use the bathroom. I’ll catch you guys up.” Sam started to leave and when Arthur didn’t follow she pulled him with her. I went to the bathroom to make a show for Sam before I made a roundabout.

I went over to the table near the games room which held my now ex mate and his whore of a person kissing him. I leaned in behind him and whispered in his ear.

“I guess this means you reject me Caleb. Goodbye and don’t ever speak to me again.” I turned on my heel causing my arm to lightly brush his back, sending tingles up my arm once more.

I only took one step before remembering something. I turned around to see Caleb trying to get the girl off him to get to me. When our eyes made contact I ripped off the Luna necklace and I tossed it to the ground next to his chair.

I turned around once more and walked off. I refuse to be his plaything. When I got outside Arthur was waiting for me.

“You didn’t need to do that.”

“Yes I did. I needed to show him that you can’t screw around with me and expect everything to be fine.”

“He’s calling out to the pack saying that you need to be found and brought to him.”

“You do that to me Arthur then you might as well lose me as a friend. I pretty much plan on never seeing him again.”

“Oh I’m not going to. I protect my Luna and if the Luna says she needs protecting from her Alpha then so be it.”

“Yeah well I do so you can make sure he stays the hell away.”

“Will do.” He put an arm around my shoulder and hugged me tight. “Do you want me to spend the night after your Grandma goes to bed? Then we can talk about anything you’d like.”

“That would be good, but I’m spending the night at Sam’s like every year though so you’ll have to be there tomorrow night. God I hope Sam shifts soon so I get my best friend into this side of things.”

“Yup and unfortunately for me I have to be the girlfriend until that happens.”

“Good luck Arthur-Ella! ” he poked me in my side causing me to laugh. Hey I’m ticklish there and he knows it.

We got back to the car and Sam was already pulling out. I got to the front seat before Arthur could and got in as Sam stopped her car. We dropped Arthur off first and then we went to Sam’s house where I ended up spending the night.

We watched the first Underworld movie and passed out during the second.

I woke up and I’m in a tunnel.

“Come Vanessa. Your future is waiting.” A voice said from the end where I can’t see.

I walked forward and I could feel that I’m in different clothes than I normally wear. I look down and see I’m in a pair of black skinny jeans and some leather boots with a good two inch heel on them. My top is a hunter green v-neck shirt and I’m wearing a leather jacket that only goes past my chest. I’m wearing a pair of fingerless gloves and it has studs at the knuckles.

I have a belt on with many pockets. I look at the names on the pockets and find very curious items to be held inside. Wolfs bane bullets and poisoned arrows. I found a gun strapped to my thigh and a quiver on my back, a folding bow inside the quiver along with a dozen or so arrow stems. I don’t know why I’m dressed like this, but I love how kick ass I feel in it.

“Come Vanessa. Your future is waiting.” The voice called out again. I continue walking down the tunnel just like the voice asks. I round a corner and find a door slowly opening. The bright light from inside blinds me for a moment. I continue walking into the door way and all I see is brightness.

I quickly sit up in the bed. I look around me and realize it was all a dream. I wish that outfit was real though because it’s awesome. I look at Sam and see she is hiding her head under a pillow. I guess nows as good a time as any to go find something to snack on.

I walk down the hall and into the kitchen. I barely make it past the counter when someone grabs me from behind and puts a hand over my mouth. I scream against it out of shock.

“Quiet down Vane.” Said the voice of Sam’s older brother Conner coming from behind me.

“We hear you’re our Luna.” I nod my head at Sam’s other brother Tim’s words, seeing as Connor still has a hand over my mouth.

“We’ve been told to bring you to Caleb if we find you. Give us a reason why we haven’t.” Connor removed his hand from my mouth but kept his hand around my waist, effectively holding me captive.

“We did our annual movie trip. When we got out of the last movie I saw Caleb sucking some other girl’s face off. I refuse to be just another girl he’s cheating on for a week before dumping her sorry ass. So I dumped him first. I don’t want him to ever speak to me again. He blew his shot.”

“Damn. I didn’t think he would do something like that.” Tim said.

“Yup and since I’m sure you’re in contact with the asshole now, you can tell him to stay away or I take his family jewels with me the next time I leave his sight.”

“Damn. You’re going to be a great Luna someday. If you ever work it out with Caleb.”

“I highly doubt that. If he wants me back he has some major sucking up to do. Even more than he already had to for being an ass to me all these years.”

“Give him a chance. We can all hear how bad he wants to see you and make things right. If not giving him another chance at least hear him out.”

“Like I will ever get within ten feet of the guy again.” A knock came from the door and Conner put a hand over my mouth again.

“Come in Alpha.” Alpha! Hell no!

OoOoOoO...........what do you think is gonna happen??? well I know!!!!! I do have a warning though......I lost chapter 6 a while back for unknown reasons........i re-wrote it, but its not nearly as good as the first version..............so sorry if its crappy...........I just started my home schooling today so sorry if the updates become really random on ya..................SENIOR YEAR BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!
