The week finishes off, and Charlie kept his promise when he said he would give us a break from missions. In fact, it's Monday night, and we have a mission. Our first mission with Ryder, so we'll see how this goes goes.

I sneakily pop my head a little past Alex's door frame to see that she's sitting on her bed. I watch as her thumbs go a mile a minute, and she'll laugh quietly to herself. I guess she must be waiting for me considering she looks ready for the mission.

"You can come in dummy," she says. I walk into her room, defeated, and she sets her phone down against her comforter. "Are we ready to go? You're worse than Garroth."

I ignore her comment, and I have to remind myself that I need a favor from her.

"Yeah, I just need a favor," I say. She hums in response and grabs her phone. "I need you to pretend to like Ryder. Get him to like you back. This way, he'll tell you about Y/N, and you can tell me what he tells you."

She stares at me. I can't help but feel afraid that she won't say anything, and instead she stares at me. After seconds of hearing my heart pound out of my chest, she rolls her eyes and makes a 'tsk' sound with her mouth.

"You want me to like a cocky ass bitch?" She stands up and begins to walks towards her window. After looking out of it, she walks away, and I have to follow after her. "You mine as well have me like Dante."

"Pretend," I hiss out grabbing onto her arm. She turna around to face me. "Besides, you don't have to actually be with him. It's only so I can get to know Y/N better!"

She turns around harshly. "You're so lazy! You need to grow a pair and talk to her yourself!" Alex sighs as she massages he temple. "Fine, I'll do it. But it's only for friendship, right? I refuse to be apart of a set up to get her to like you."

"Yes! Yes, it's only for friendship! Thank you so much. I don't know how I could ever repay you!"

"Leaving would be a good start."

We're almost done with our mission, and I already wish to brutally kill Ryder. I said once before that Garroth was bad, but Ryder has somehow managed to be worse.

"Left or right?"

Ryder, Vylad and myself are sitting behind watching Alex bestow a mission that the three of us are unable to perform. She's currently under a quick get away with plans after Ryder gave her wrong information, and she may get caught because of it. If she gets caught, we're screwed.

"Left," I say as I watch her turn to the left. However, Ryder thinks that he's better than me and decides to argue with me and say right. Were bicker about it, and Alex looks extremely confused on what to do.

Ryder may be the leader, but so am I.

"They're almost here! I can hear their footsteps. Vylad, which way do I go? Left or right?!"

"Up!"

She grabs something from her belt and instantly she's brought up to the ceiling. I don't even have that item. . .

I glare at Ryder. His eyes are glued on Vylad, and he seems annoyed. I can't understand why though. Vylad has done nothing wrong whatsoever.

I knew from the very beginning that having two leaders would be trouble some, and it would probably be best if Vylad would be the one and only leader. He takes actions on things.

"You fucking suck as a leader," the words slip from my lips faster than I could think of the words. I look over at Ryder, and he lifts his fist up as if to punch me. He doesn't, and I smirk lightly to myself.

"You think you're a better one wise guy? Charlie kept you as a leadwr because he would've felt bad if he downgraded you."

I roll my eyes, "Oh please. If anything, Charlie fslt bad for you, so he made you a leader."

Charlie opens his mouth to say something, but Vylad cuts him off by walking over by us.

"You both suck as leaders," he says. The front door of the building opens, and a sudden gush of wave crashes into the building. Vylad's hair moves with the wind, and he takes a step into the outside. If you would've thought about it, or even payed enough attention, if she would've gone any way but up, she would've been caught."

Once again, I have been outsmarted by a thirteen year old.

"Laurance, what's the answer to number seven?"

I have made many mistakes in my life, becoming a Shadow Knight is one of them, but sometimes I never learn from them.

Garroth isn't the best at math, or any school subject, and I always make the same mistake on inviting him over to help him. What I don't understand is why Zianna and Garte won't get Garroth a tutor. Of course Garroth is always bragging about how he could've gone to O'Khasis Prep, but didn't, and it gets annoying after he says it only once. It makes me want to kill him.

I explain it once again, and he still fails to understand the problem. It gets to the point where I have to write down what I got and how I got it onto his homework. Our hand writing isn't completely alike, mine is much neater, but I highly doubt that Ms. Clemmings would care enough to figure out who actually wrote it.

I set my finished homework beside me, and I glance over to see Garroth stuggling over the next question. It's only me who helps Garroth because everybody else has refused to do so. Everybody.

"Why are you struggling so much?" I groan. He gives me his pencil, and I roll my eyes.

"If I fail out of here, I have to go to school in the Caribbean. Dude, I don't speak Carabbisian so tell me what to do!"

"You're being over dramatic."

"Help me Laurance! I don't want to go to the Caribbean. What if there's no cute girls?"

I shrug, "Become gay?"

My phone goes off, and Garroth pushes his supplies off the bed. I look down at my phone, and she a new group chat has formed.

I look over to see Garroth cheating off of my homework. I snatched my homework from his hand and glare.

"No...?" He runs into the hallway, and I watch as his homework falls off the bed. I listen to his footsteps and villainish laughter bounce off the walls. "You'll never catch me alive!"

That's when my phone goes off again.

My shoes are caked in mud, and the only light I can see is generating from the stars and our phones.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

Alex turns around to look at me. The light from the flashlight on her phone shines onto the floor.

She laughs, "I can't tell you. But I can tell you I found the place when we met Ryder."

"You left after seeing me."

It falls silent after that, and I noticed Katelyn grimacing at the mosquitos swarming around her. She swats them away but only becomes angered when they fly back.

"Grr," she growls. "Go away you damn mosquitos! How long until we get there?!"

I look to my side, and suddenly I get hit in the head by a tree brantch. I hiss out profanities, and Ryder laughs at me. I look at him and glare. He snickers as he flips me off, and Y/N looks at me and smiles. She waves, and ignore the pain my forehead is giving me as I wave and wink back. Ryder glares at me once again, and I shrug it off. I know for a fact that I'm going to have a gigantic bruise on my forehead later.

"Alex, we just can't cross police tape. We can get arrested or something," Vylad annouces.

I look forward to see Katelyn and Alex ducking under the police tape, and Vylad follows after Ryder sends him a cocky ass smile and following the two girls. Y/N shrugs her shoulders and makes a "come here" motion with her finger. I begin to follow after her. It's like I'm under some kind of trance again.

She grabs onto my hand, and she pulls me into the empty abandoned house. Y/N laughs when I nearly trip over my own two feet, and I'm dragged up the stairs into an emtpy room.

She walks around, and I stare out of the window. I look around, and I feel her lightly drag her hand slightly from my right shoulder to my left. I glance back at her.

"I can't understand you," I mutter.

She only smirks at me. "Being mysterious means that it'll be a challenge for you to figure out who I really am."

She walks around my slowly in a circle, and my eyes follow after her. That's until she sits on the bed.

"I swear," I groan. "Youre poison for me."

"I would like to think of that as a good thing."

Suddenly I hear yelling and loud footsteps, and out of the corner of my eye I see flashing lights out of the window.

"What do we do?!" I panic. "We need to get out of here!"

A voice is heard from the doorway, "You're not going anywhere."
