Chapter 2
(The picture is of Andie. ;)
Beep...Beep...Beep...
I groaned, leaning my arm over my head, pushing the 'snooze' button on my alarm clock. Another day, thank goodness it's Friday.
I sit up, rubbing the sleep away in my eyes and ever so slowly, pull the warm covers off me.
I sluggishly walk over to my wooden dresser in the corner of my room, pulling some clothes out for today.
While I was closing the drawer, I seemed to accidentally slam it shut on my finger.
"Aw fu- you- ugh!" I gasp, holding my finger, jumping up and down. I've always seemed to do something ridiculous as that.
"Andie? Are you alright?" April asked, standing at the doorway. Guess I didn't see her come in.
"Fine- I'm fine! Just...got my damn finger in the dresser." I sigh and grab my clothes I dropped, as I walk into the bathroom.
"If you say so." She smirks, holding back a laugh. I hear footsteps lead away from the bathroom door, and into the kitchen.
Rolling my eyes playfully, I slip off my pajamas, then put on my fresh- smelling clothes, smiling a bit at my clothing choice: A gray tank top with a pink skirt, variations of necklaces, rings and bracelets to go along with it. Then, I finish it off with a pair of white converse.
I look up from my shirt and to my hair, now that's a problem.
I laugh at my appearance and take out my hair band. It was just barley holding up a messy bun.
I brush through my hair and add some volume spray, making it look a little puffier.
After that, I reach over and grab my hair straightener, straightening my shoulder length, red hair.
I grab a hair tie off the floor, and take two small sections of hair. Tying them in the back to make a small pony tail, and leaving the rest to fall down my shoulders.
"Much better." I say to myself as I walk out of the bathroom.
----------
After getting ready, my stomach decided it was time for breakfast. Usually, I would make breakfast, or April and I would go out or just eat some oatmeal. Something simple. But today, I really feel like cooking.
"French toast?" I ask April, getting some ingredients out of the cabinet.
She puts down her phone and nods, "Yes please!" She says, popping the 'p.'
I nod as I turn on the stove, heating the pan up while mixing eggs, milk, and cinnamon together.
"You know...you should really be a cook." April said, flicking my pony tail as she walked past me, into the living room.
"Oh really?" I glance at her, seeing her looking out the window.
She turns to me and smiles, "Really really."
We both giggle and I soak some bread into the bowl, then putting it on the pan.
"Be right back, gotta pee." April says as she wobbles to the bathroom. I laugh and soak another piece of bread in the mixture.
Yeah, is it too late now to say sorry?
'Cause I'm missing more than just your body
Is it too late now to say sorry?
Yeah I know that I let you down
Is it too late to say I'm sorry now?
I look over to the counter besides me seeing Aprils phone ring. Smooth April, always listing to Justin. Note the sarcasm.
I quickly put the bread on the pan and walk over to the counter, trying not to get the mixture on anything.
"Hmm..." I stick my tongue out, concentrating on trying to pick up her phone with my wrists, so it doesn't get full of French toast mixture.
I managed to pick it up, and hitting the answer button with my nose. I carefully, without dropping it, put the phone on my shoulder and up to my ear.
"APRIL! We have a major problem. We need you to meet us by the manhole near the lair! Hurry!" A voice said through the phone.
"Uhhh.." I said confused. I didn't exactly know what to say to that.
"Wait, who is this?" The voice said again.
"I'm Andie. Aprils roommate. Who are you?" I ask, walking back over to the stove.
"Nevermind that, just tell her Donnie called. I- uh- bye!" He hangs up before I could say anything.
"Well that was weird." I say, putting down her phone as I wash my hands off.
I hear the bathroom door open, and April walking out. I swung around fast on the heels of my feet, "April, who's Donnie?"
She looked at me as if I had four eyes. She glanced over at the window, then back at me, nervously swinging her arms back and forth.
"He's a friend...of mine. Wait how did you know they- he's- how? Did you answer my phone?" She asks, her voice rising.
I raise a brow, "Friend? And yes, I did answer your phone." I sass, flipping the pieces of French toast, making a face.
"Andie!" She yells in defense.
I stopped flipping and faced her, "See this," I aim at her with my spatula, "This is not ok!"
"What is not ok? Me telling the truth?" She yelled. I can just look at her and tell she was lying. The way she kept looking out the window, and the way she was moving her arms back and forth- just gave it all away. I always know when people are lying.
"Who's Donnie, and what is a lair?" I ask for the final time.
"The lair is his...house! Yeah house. No big deal. And I already told you! He's a friend." She crosses her arms, now her giving me a look.
"Alright fine. Don't tell me. But I will find out sooner or later," I sigh, giving up. "Breakfast is ready."
I prepare her plate and place it down on the counter. She mumbles a 'thank you,' and grabs apple juice out of the fridge, pouring two glasses for her and I.
"Sorry."
I look behind me, seeing her holding out a glass. "It's ok. Sorry for answering your phone." I respond, taking the glass.
"Pshh I don't care about that. Sorry I didn't tell you about the- him." She cuts off real quick, making me look at her confused.
"It's cool. Let's eat!" I say, avoiding the question.
We ate in silence.
The air was full of confusion and guilt, the wave of it all was coming from her. I just about finish up my food, taking the empty plate to the sink and rinse it off, glancing at April every now and then.
"So April-"
"Thanks for breakfast, Andie. I got to run." She says rather quickly, cutting me off. She grabs her phone and puts on her sneakers before bolting out the door. I stood there, utterly confused, washing off my plate.
"This girl is full of mysteries."
---------
Aprils Pov~
I punch in the numbers to Donnie's phone, running quickly down the flights of stairs. I know Andie has her eyes on me, I need to be more carful. If she finds out about the guys who knows what she'll do.
"Hello? April?" Donnie questioned from the other line. I could hear Mikey in the background, annoying Leonardo about some new cat video.
"Yeah its me," I start, reaching the lobby of the apartment. "Meet me where we usually meet."
He answered with an 'Ok' then hung up. I slid my phone into my back pocket, running across the street, luckily without getting hit.
I run into the alley way where I usually meet the guys, and stand right in front of the manhole covering. Mikey's voice echoed through the sewers below, you couldn't miss it. He always wanted to tell whatever was on his mind.
Each of them came up, all circling around me, looking around at the people walking by. Raphael was the most anxious one right now. I could tell he wasn't use to being out in the day time. Would he ever admit to being anxious? Probably not.
"So, why did you call me earlier?" I ask Donnie, he fixing his goggles so they would rest in top of his head.
"We have a foot issue. They're trying to hack into your computer software." Donnie informs, looking around to see if anyone was listing.
"What? Why would they being doing that?!" I ask, throwing my hands up in the air.
"We think their trying to get information about you and your family. Seems like they are trying to use anything to get closer to us." Leo adds.
"That's where Andie comes in," Donnie's pulled out his phone, showing me a picture of Andie.
"This is her right?" He asks.
I nod, "Yeah. And what about her?" If this gets out to Andie, Ill never hear the end of her going on about everything.
"We think they might try to kidnap her. They know she means a lot to you, like I said before, the foot Clan would do anything to get to us and you." Leo says, pointing to himself- representing them all.
"So what do you want me to do?" I ask, putting my hands on my hips.
"Keep a very close eye on her. If she goes out, call her every so often. Remember, you need to stay well aware yourself. Be carful, April." Donnie says. I nod as they all hop back into the manhole, Mikey winking at me before he jumped in.
I roll my eyes playfully, heading back towards the apartment. The day is just going to get worse, now isn't it?
