~With Kai~

Now that Masami and I had gotten engaged and my Warrior Award speech was done, I had to be ready for tonight.

Although Masami was emotionally drained from me proposing to her, she was still dedicated to help me prepare for the fight ahead. I was wondering what I would do to make my performance tonight memorable, but then all of a sudden, I started thinking about my stint in Suzuki-Gun from 2015 to 2018.

Back then, after I joined the group, I looked at mostly anime for inspiration, while I looked at Shogugeki No Soma (Food Wars!) for inspiration, one in particular was the movie Ghost In The Shell from 1995 and the anime from 2002. There was one character that gave me an idea to look intimidating and trying to stand out and that was Batou Jericho, Major Kusanagi's right hand man.

He had this outfit where he had long black pants, boots, brown leather bomber jacket, white eye caps, and white hair. My look in Suzuki-Gun was a black bomber jacket with white fur and black eye caps. I wanted to dye my hair black, but it would be a bitch to clean up if I did it myself.

To solve that problem, I went to a salon in Yamaguchi, where a hairdresser, who was a family friend, offered to dye my hair black free of charge. I was elated when she did it and I kept it as that ever since. I didn't want to change it back to brown, my sister and I's natural hair color and I'm still stubborn about it.

The caps and the jacket were for making an entrance while the hair was permanent, and luckily, I kept all this gear when I signed with NXT, so I don't have to fly all the back to Japan to grab them.

Also, when it's for Championships or whatnot, I would sometimes wear black military style pants to go along with my look, but I'm not gonna to wear that tonight, because I don't think it matches my character right now.

Now, with my hair being dyed black already, I made sure to use certain types of shampoo and soap to keep the color in my hair, that way none of it ever goes away.

I want all of this to be a surprise for the fans as this was a big deal for me. I was attempting to make history by becoming the first autistic NXT Champion and what better way than to bring back the look that made me a star in Suzuki-Gun and one of the most popular wrestlers in the entire world?

Thinking about that made me emotional because the reinvention of my character reinvigorated my career as I was given a new nickname, "The Heart And Soul of Suzuki-Gun" while I was keeping the other nickname, the "Broken Winged Angel".

Masami, Kaori, Minoru, and myself got to the Amelia Arena and we were ready for war.

We went to our locker room and Minoru was already in his tracksuit, in case he has to be out there, but I don't know what was making him wear it.

Either way, I know it's going to be awesome.

Once I got into my Suzuki-Gun gear, I started limbering up with some leg exercises and some conditioning exercises to help me prepare myself for the big match up ahead.

~Main Event~

At any moment now, my match with Adam is in five minutes and I was already in my gear, but I won't be showing it off after this video package that the NXT creative team had put together!

I approved the idea of this video and it was going to be about how this rivalry between Adam and I had come to the point where it has to end inside Hell In A Cell.

The other thing I approved of was the song and I thought it was very fitting for the end of this rivalry and the fact that I want to end this once and for all.

And Adam? He better pray to his invisible God in the sky that he finally gets what's coming to him inside that cage.

I watched the TV screen and it showed Renallo, Phoenix, and McGuiness all waiting to see how it came to this and they said...

Renallo: Guys, this is a match in the making because these two are ready to go to hell and back!

Phoenix: That's right, Mauro and what better way than to end this longtime rivalry between Ren Hosako and Adam Cole for the NXT Championship inside the structure known as Hell In A Cell?

McGuiness: I can't wait for this. This is also history in the making! The first ever Hell In A Cell match in NXT! My bet's on Adam Cole, who do you choose to win the match?

Renallo: I'm going with "The Prodigy", Ren Hosako, he's got evil on his mind after what transpired last week on NXT TV!

Phoenix: I have to go with Ren, simply because he's someone who will do whatever he has to do to inflict pain on his opponents and he will laugh as he does it! He's not human! There's something wrong with him!

Renallo: Beth, he's autistic, but that doesn't mean there's something wrong with the young man. Anyway, in order to get an idea on how this came about, let's have a recap on the situation...

~Start of Video~

Crowd: ONE! TWO! THREE!

Renallo: Adam Cole has retained the NXT Championship from Tomasso Ciampa!

McGuiness: What a fight we've seen here tonight between these two—

Kyle: Who was that?

Bobby: I don't know. Who is it?

Ren: Repo man!

Roddy: What?

As Strong opens the door...

Me: KONICHIWA!!!

Ren starts laying into Roddy as Bobby tried to defend Strong, but Hosako was already on him before Kyle could get at him.

Unfortunately, it was all over for them because Ren gives all three a chop to their chests which took them off their feet the first time and he incapacitated them enough to the point where they can't fight back.

Ren went out of their locker room and slams the door, locking it in the process.

Ren looks at the camera with a very evil smile...

Ren: Now... it just you... and me.

Ren walks out in his red and black track suit, smiling with evil intentions.

Renallo: REN HOSAKO IS BACK!

McGuiness: ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I THOUGHT HE WAS GONE!

Phoenix: Ren Hosako, returning from a serious injury to his left hamstring, that was done by that man Adam Cole and look at him! He's in shock!

Renallo: So are we Beth!

In the ring, Ren lays waste to Adam, hits him with the Brainbuster, grabs both the title and mic as he says...

Ren: 何年も前に始まった戦争は私に勝ちます！

Translation: The war that started years ago, will be won by me!

Ren holds the title in the air and drops the mic as he puts his boot on Adam's fallen corpse, and he keeps smiling with evil.

~Next Wednesday~

Ren: You hear that, Adam? They want me to take your title!

The fans kept cheering as Ren stood still and started talking some more...

Ren: You hurt me months ago, but now, I will hurt you! You may think... putting me on shelf... was best idea... but it the worst because I still here after 3 months! Adam, you better listen. I will take your title soon enough. I plan on being absolutely merciless to you at Takeover: Tampa Bay—

Adam: No! No! No, you're not gonna do that!

The crowd immediately booed as Adam and his yesmen walk out onto the stage.

Adam: If you think I'm gonna let you have another chance at this title, then you're wrong! You've had your chance months ago, so how about you get over it already?

Ren: I pretty sure they aligned with you to do your dirty work! Once Strong, O'Reily, and Fish figure it out, maybe, they detach their lips from your ass!

Adam was irate and looked to walk down the ramp and fight his adversary, but, of course, his boyfriends back him up.

Adam: If you want a fight? Then you're gonna get one because these three have no problem fighting you again! The first one you'll be fighting is Roderick Strong, so you better come up with a plan, but for right now, UE, surround him!

Fish, O'Reily, and Strong went up on each side of the apron as Ren was wanting a fight!

Ren crouches down with a small smile, waiting for one of them to step inside the ring, but out of nowhere, from behind, these two guys slid into the ring and stood alongside me as he never thought I'd be working with him again...

Renallo: The NXT Tag Team Champions! Matt Riddle, Pete Dunne, the Broserweights! They're standing alongside Hosako!

Phoenix: Remember, Riddle and Hosako had a very intense rivalry last year and it ended with Hosako being the victor, but how is this going to play out with history repeating itself in front of us!

Riddle, Pete, and myself were waiting for them to step into the ring to fight them, but the three got off the apron and walked backwards as they were booed out of the building the Full Sail crowd.

~The Second Wednesday~

Ren puts an Indian Deathlock Clutch on Strong as he was trying to get out of it and yelling out in pain, but in the end, he hand no choice but to submit.

The bell rang and while Ren was being announced the winner, he releases as Strong was holding onto his arm in pain, screaming in just pure agony.

Ren smiles and looked at the stage to see Adam Cole and his two buddies, in shock that he hurt one of his friends.

Ren then gives him the number one gesture, and saying to him...

Ren: それは 1 つです!それはあなた方のうちの一人です！来週、私はあなたを迎えに行きます、フィッシュ！あなたは私を生き残れないでしょう！保証します！ (That's one! That's one of you down! Next week, I'm coming for you, Fish! You won't survive me! I guarantee it!)

~The Third Wednesday~

He twists the wrist, bending it...

Crowd: Ooooh.

...bent his elbow...

Crowd: Ooooh!

...and pulled his arm back...

Crowd: OOOOH!

...as he heard Bobby just crying in agony!

After a while he couldn't take it anymore and tapped out.

The bell rang as Ren throws his arm away and celebrated his victory as his theme played.

Ren then smiles as he puts up two fingers and pointed at the UE on the stage, saying...

Ren: それは2つ減りました！人が足りないよ、コール！来週、あの生意気な雌犬をこのリングに連れてきたほうがいいよ、だって私は彼の腕も折るつもりだから！ (That's two down! You're running out of people, Cole! Next week, you better bring that ginger-headed bitch over to this ring, because I plan on breaking his arm too!)

~The Fourth Wednesday~

Just as Ren was about to win the match, Adam had to ambush him from behind and cause a DQ, give the ref no choice but to call for the bell!

Io Shirai, who was out there with him, didn't know what to do since all four of them were trying to beat Ren down, until...

Renallo: THE KING IS HERE! MINORU SUZUKI!

Phoenix: This is why Ren was laughing! He knew something nobody else did, not even us!

Renallo: Former IWGP Intercontinental Champion! Student of the late Billy Robinson and former protege of the legendary Karl Gotch!

Phoenix: And a very, very close friend of Ren Hosako, almost like a father to "The Prodigy"!

As soon as they went limp, Minoru had O'Reily's head between his legs as Ren had Fish under his arm. We hyped the crowd up, and he gives Fish his...

Renallo: Brainbuster!

...while Ren got up, points at Suzuki with both fingers, and he gave Kyle...

Renallo: THE GOTCH STYLE PILEDRIVER!!!

Phoenix: Listen to this place!

Crowd(chanting): SUZUKI! SUZUKI! SUZUKI! SUZUKI! SUZUKI! SUZUKI!

Regal: Seeing this lovely reunion in the back just gave me an idea!

The crowd cheered as loud as they could as Regal was about to proclaim it...

Regal: NEXT WEEK! For NXT Appreciation Night, there will be an eight man tag team match. In the main event, it will be the Undisputed Era, taking on the Broserweights, and the team of Ren Hosako, and Minoru Suzuki!

The crowd popped again as the UE were in such terror that they didn't know what they were getting themselves into!

~The Fifth Wednesday~

Minoru locks Adam in with the Rear Naked Choke as the fans went crazy and Ren was begging the other UE members to get in the ring, but they were too scared because of who's taking out their leader, Minoru Suzuki.

When Adam was out cold, Suzuki threw him to Hosako, as he hits him with the Brainbuster.

Ren covered him, and with a smile, his tongue was sticking out, down his bottom lip, staring down the rest of the UE...

Crowd: ONE! TWO! THREE!

The bell rang as his team won the match and Minoru's theme was playing in the background.

~Contract Signing; Aftermath~

Ren(subtitles): And if you think that I will not have a chance to hold the title you have around your waist, then guess what? I put in the work every time, every damn day of the year, to prove that it's not about the disability, it's about how you work hard for yourself. Here's what you don't know, I! *slams fist* AM! *slams fist* A! *slams fist* WORKER! *slams fist* And that is how dedicated I am to this sport! If that's not your definition of work ethic, Adam, then you gotta go back to Ring of Honor to have Jay whip your ass even more!

The fans were just eating it up even more as Ren knew that he was eliminating Adam from existence.

Ren(subtitles): I'll end it with this, Adam. There may be no cure to autism, but at Takeover: Tampa Bay, I'm gonna take your title, and while you're one sick little asshole, I'm gonna be the cure to end your sickness.

Shirai pushes Ren to the side, but when he gets a better look at what happened...

Renallo: NO!

...Io was laying on her side, unconscious.

Everyone at Full Sail went silent. Many fans' jaws were dropped, some mouths were covered, and kids were tearing up at what they just witnessed as Ren starts to shake from emotion.

Renallo: Io Shirai taking the kick for her man!

Phoenix: Adam Cole better get out of the ring while he still can! Hosako's gonna go crazy!

McGuiness: Adam, get outta there!

After feeling Io's pulse through her wrist, where Ren got a heartbeat, he immediately runs up towards Adam, tackles him, and went off on him, not caring about security trying to get in the ring to pull Ren away from him.

Renallo: Adam Cole has crossed the line, and Hosako is upset by what happened to his girl! I don't blame him!

Soon after a while, they helped her out of the ring as the fans applauded out of respect, showing love for Masami after she had taken the bullet that was for Ren.

Ren held her by her arm around my shoulder and as we walked up the ramp, he gives her a small kiss on her cheek, feeling so sad that she got hurt.

~The Following Wednesday~

When Adam just finished his match with a jobber, the camera was cut to Masami's car that was pulling up to where the entrance was, thanks to Minoru driving.

Once Ren got out of the car, he walks to the back seat, pulls out a bat, slams the door shut, and starts walking towards the entrance of the building as the fans start to go crazy for what he planned on doing.

Renallo: Hosako's here, and he's got a bat!

Phoenix: Ren is looking like he's got some evil tendencies in mind, and I don't want to know!

McGuiness: Adam needs to get out of here before Hosako gets inside! Something bad's gonna happen if he doesn't!

As Ren tries to grab Adam over the table to beat him up some more, he tried to gouge his eyes as we were now up on the table, but Ren blocked him by gouging HIS eyes.

After that, Ren gets off the table and hit Adam's left leg with the bat!

Once he landed back first, Ren went to hit his midsection again, but he moved and Hosako breaks the announce table board in HALF and the commentators scrambled away from Ren like ants!

Adam fell onto the floor, screaming in pain as he limped off on one leg, and getting away from Hosako as he tried to get him to come back.

Instead of feeling bad about him running away, Ren asks for a mic and he was given one as he went inside the ring and looked to cut a promo while Ren was staring down Adam.

Ren: Oi, Adam Cole! If not evident by what I brought, it no longer a regular match!

He smiles and twirles my bat around with one hand, wanting to announce the match Hunter had given me approval to proclaim in the best English he can muster.

Adam: Then go home, you psycho!

Ren: Now, with what you have done a week ago, I now coming to Tampa Bay to kill you, and take your title! At Takeover, at Tampa Bay, Adam Cole, Ren Hosako, for NXT Championship, inside... HELL IN A CELL!!!

The crowd throughout Full Sail ERUPTS as soon as "Hell In A Cell" was proclaimed in the most fluent English he can muster without his goddamn lisp getting the way.

Then, William Regal walks out with a grin, liking what Ren was saying, as he brought the mic up to his face.

Regal: Hosako, you want Adam Cole, for the NXT Championship, inside Hell In A Cell, at Takeover: Tampa Bay?

The fans continues to chant "yes" as Ren was nodding with a very evil smile and he was really wanting this.

Ren: You hear them, Regal?! They want this! I want this! Give it to us!

Regal smiles and yelled...

Regal: THEN YOU GOT IT!

The crowd erupted again, but even louder as Ren celebrates by raising up the bat that he used tonight with one hand.

~Wednesday Before Takeover~

Adam: You can never be me, Ren because you can't be me! I'm the best wrestler on this earth, not you! So stop trying to act like a tough guy because you're not!

Ren(subtitles): Seriously, Adam? You calling yourself the best wrestler on earth and tell me that I act like a tough guy, playing a part in a movie or some shit? You must've been wanting to be a comedian all your life because this is probably the best joke you have ever told and that's for anybody to take you seriously.

Adam: It's a waste of time. I mean, this shouldn't be happening but of course, golden child over here had to beg on his knees for this match. I'm not gonna lose this title to no one. If they want to take it from me, they'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

Ren(subtitles): You know, honestly, Adam, I don't give a damn about our last match, which was months ago, because that was then, this is now! I'm not gonna fight you like I've done five times already, I'm basically going to go into that cell, and spill your guts all over the place! You better start writing out your will because you're gonna meet your maker! I will kill you inside Hell In A Cell, I'm gonna watch you bleed until you can't resuscitate! That's my word, and I don't break it for no one.

Adam: Really? You don't break your word? How will Io feel when you lose, huh? She'll probably want to be with me after the match because she probably sees you as this disgusting person who hurts people for a living! You should go to jail!

Ren smirks and shakes his head with a very angry smile.

Adam: Come this Friday, I'm gonna keep this title, you won't have your dream come true, and that is undisputed.

Adam smirked and looked to walk away, but Ren had to get his attention.

Ren: ADAM!

He sat back down as Ren stared into the camera with a very evil look and looked to finish the interview with this.

Me(subtitles): There's one thing you should know. You're lucky that we're not in the same room because if we were, I'd lay your ass out for bringing up my girlfriend again, just to prove how much of a piece of s**t you really are. You really are asking for the beating I have in store for you, so, at Takeover: Tampa Bay, you won't be facing Ren Hosako, The Prodigy. Instead, you'll be getting more than what you've bargained for, because you'll be meeting someone different. You see, all my life, I've been Broken. And sometimes, when there was something I had to do, I had to Wing it, but at Takeover: Tampa Bay, inside Hell In A Cell, you won't be fighting a Demon, you will be fighting an Angel.
