In-Ring Debut

(A/N: As everyone can probably tell, this timeline is taking place in 2018/2019/2020. And, fair warning, I will bring some realism from 2020 into the story, but it won't be over the top, don't hate me if you don't like the idea because I want to express some hatred into that year.

Anyways...)

~With Kai~

After packing up my gear at a hotel, Kaori and I drove to Full Sail for a taping of NXT. I can't wait to make my NXT debut, mostly because I want to have the best matches possible and make sure the fans go home happy.

When Kaori and I arrived at Full Sail, we walked over to Hunter, who was waiting for us.

Hunter: Hey, Kaori, Kai.

Me: Hello.

Kaori: Hello.

Hunter: Good to see you here. Now, I just learned from William Regal that your match tonight is up against Kyle O'Reily with the Undisputed Era. The thing I want you to do, Kai, is to make the match entertaining.

Me: I will try.

Hunter: Awesome. For now, you guys go ahead, I'll handle everything else.

Me: Okay.

Kaori: Okay.

I'm liking the fact I was battling a Kyle O'Reily of the Undisputed Era. I've seen some of his matches and I was looking forward to working with him. I think he knows about my disability and I think he would have no problem working with me.

I was looking forward to show the NXT Universe what I can do as a wrestler while autistic as well.

I got changed into my gear, which is a leather jacket, white wrist tape, plain black trunks, black knee pads, and black boots. I always liked this style when I was wrestling for NJPW, and for some reason I don't think want to change it.

I don't know what makes me want to go that route, but I know that this kind of gear just works for me.

Anyway, I went to gorilla as Kaori was waiting for me to show off my technical skills and some promos in English. I can speak English pretty well, but it will be hard since I can barely remember what to say sometimes. I'm hoping to do my best though.

Once the UE's music played, I saw O'Reily making his entrance as I looked to go out there and entertain these people.

Announcer: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, representing the Undisputed Era, KYLE O'REILY!

Once his entrance was done, I put on my jacket, hugged my twin sister and waited for my entrance music to play.

Once it played, I went out just kneeling down, until the tempo rocked up the crowd as I stood up and spread my arms out.

Announcer: And his opponent, from Yamuguchi, Japan, weighing at 229lbs, making his NXT debut, REEEEEEEEEEEN HOOOOOOOSAAAKOOOO!

I got up, and started walking down the ramp with such intensity that everyone had no choice but to clap along to the beat of the song, which is what the Japanese crowd would do when I'm entering the arena and coming down the ramp.

I looked at Kyle and he saw that I wasn't playing. He knows that I was trained by Minoru Suzuki and endorsed by Antonio Inoki himself, so Kyle knows how much of a big deal I am.

I went inside the ring, got on the middle turnbuckle, and raised my arms out, soaking in the adoration of the NXT crowd.

Crowd: HOSAKO! HOSAKO! HOSAKO!

After getting off the middle rope, I took off my jacket, threw it over the rope, and waited to start the match.

Ref: RING THE BELL!

The bell rang as Kyle and I were staring each other down, begging one of us to make the first move.

Once we moved closer to each other, we fist bumped, to show some sportsmanship, which took the crowd by surprise. The fans actually applauded that after that, it turned into almost a Japanese crowd, with the respective silence.

After showing some sportsmanship, what we did was we targeted each other's limbs, trying to lock in a hold that could make each other submit. It was only a minute before we separated the crowd applauded.

That told me we got them invested and it was time to have them remember this as the best debut match in NXT history.

After an exchange of strikes, Kyle took me off my feet and started striking me with open palms. I managed to protect myself but he locked me in an armbar! I countered the hold by countering and locking in an armbar of my own.

Then, Kyle managed to get out of it, and kick my chest. In response I no-sold it, kneed his gut, flipped him over his head, looked to kick his head, but he ducked, and we looked across from each other.

The crowd applauded and cheered again as I decided to play mind games by telling Kyle that I was this close to knocking him out unconscious and I smiled as I did.

After that, we looked for a test of strength, looking to see who's stronger. Turned out Kyle was as he put me in a headlock takedown, I put him in a body scissors by wrapping his head around my legs, choking him while elbowing his head a couple times.

Kyle countered by flipping me over and locking me in a Boston Crab. It was a bit painful, but at least we're showing off what we can do as technical wrestlers. I managed to get a hold of the bottom rope and break the hold as Kyle went across from me.

That meant, we're ready to show everyone that we're not just technical wrestlers, we're also brawlers.

~10 Minutes Later~

This match was so hard hitting and technical that everyone was invested into this match. I was having fun as I needed to focus on Kyle's right arm.

I double kneed his arm, which was signaling everyone that I was looking for my finishing hold, the Fujiwara Armbar.

Once I finished targeting Kyle's right arm, I locked in the arm bar. The crowd was chanting "Tap!" while I was stretching out his arm, looking to get the victory.

After a few minutes of Kyle trying to escape, he had no choice but to tap out, which made the crowd go crazy!

Announcer: Here is your winner, REN HOSAKO!

My arm was raised as I won my first match in NXT, but I wasn't done. I was allowed to cut a promo, but I had to be quick. I gestured for a mic as I was going to speak as I was finally given one.

I took a moment to catch my breath before lifting it to my mouth.

Before I could speak, everyone kept quiet. That showed me that they were going to let me speak without any interruptions, which I deeply appreciate because when I get interrupted, I lose my train of thought with my promos.

Before I could begin the promo, I said...

Me: Subtitles on screen, please.

The crowd knew that I was going to speak in Japanese while there are English subtitles on the screen, on the TV screen and on the titantron. I thought that was a good idea since Japanese is much easier for me to speak in than English.

Translation: Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Ren Hosako. Some of you might remember me when I was a former Intercontinental Champion, a World Champion, and an Openweight Champion back in Japan.

Right now, what I'm doing is callbacks, trying to spark some interest into some of the fans here, whether they watched me in New Japan or they've never heard of me before.

I thought this would be the best idea to introduce some casual fans to my character. I mean, it makes sense, right? There needs to be new fans of mine if they want to be interested in me and see what I can do as Japan's first autistic pro wrestler.

Also, I'm gonna bring some realism to this promo, meaning my history with someone that I know really well, and he's in the Undisputed Era.

Translation: I've faced many challenges like my learning disability and I've proven that I can be an inspiration to many young people who struggled like I have. But it wasn't just challenges, I've faced many hard hitting opponents, but there is one opponent that I haven't faced yet and that opponent is YOU, Adam Cole!

Crowd: Bay Bay!

Translation: You and I only met in the ring once...

That was in New Japan, by the way.

Me: ...

Translation: ...but we never got to come to blows. So I have an idea: how about next week, you and I get in this ring, and we see who's the better man? Hope to see you then.

My music played as I bowed and went out of the ring and into the back, where Kaori was waiting for me. She was smiling as we hugged.

(That was such a good match!)

(Thanks, Kaori. I always try to make every match entertaining.)

(I know.)

Hunter came over to us with a smile as I was too.

Hunter: Are you a storyteller by chance because you doing callbacks and bringing some realism is really good!

Me: Hai. I can be if you want me to.

Hunter: Good, because if you keep telling stories like this, we might turn you into the next Bret Hart!

Me: Arigato. I like idea, but I would rather be myself.

Hunter: Hey, I'm good with that. You be yourself, that matters more than anything.

Me: Thank you.

Hunter: You go on back to your locker room and rest up. You earned it after tonight.

Me: Thank you Hunter.

Hunter: You're welcome, Kai.

We shook hands as Kaori and I walked to the personal locker room and we watched the rest of the show, but we were given a FaceTime call from Masami! We had to answer!

(I just saw your debut Kai, that was so good!)

(Thanks!)

(Now, the reason I called is because, I don't know if I can get this out.)

(Take your time, Masami. Take your time.)

(Takaaki and I, we had to call off our engagement.)

(Wait what?)

(Are you serious?)

(Yeah. The reason we had to break up is because of my signing with NXT.)

(Oh, Masami, we're so sorry.)

(We broke up on good terms, don't worry about me.)

(Still, it must've been hard.)

(It was, but I'll get over it.)

(Look, if you want to come work out with us at the PC tomorrow, please come by.)

(I will, maybe go to lunch after?)

(Sure! What do you think, Kai?)

(I'm all for it, if Masami is okay with it.)

(Kai, you and Kaori are my best friends, of course I'll be fine with it. I appreciate you thinking of me, though.)

(It's no problem. I just don't like it when my friends are sad and whatever.)

(You're so sweet.)

(I try to be.)

(Alright. Well, I'll see you guys soon!)

(See you!)

(Bye Masami!)

(Bye Kai!)

We hung up as it was a bit of a struggle to take in the fact that Takaaki and Masami aren't together anymore, but it was for a good reason, which I'm not upset about.

(I can't believe Takaaki and her broke up.)

(Same here. They were great for each other.)

(I agree. It's just so sad that they had to separate.)

(Well, if it makes her happy, then we should be happy for her too.)

Kaori: ええ。 (Yeah.)

Soon enough, the show was over and we went back to the hotel.

I really felt bad about Takaaki and Masami breaking up due to signing with different companies, but it was for the best, which is understandable.

Still, let's just hope that Masami is okay after a few days.
