❝AKAI HAATO'S POV❞
▬▬ 𝓐.kai Haato, the heart idol of the Hololive Company. She's one of the idols that debuted during the early days of Hololive, and as time went on, she became well known in both Japan and overseas.
Usually, idols become well-known for their beauty, their talents like dancing and singing, and their charisma. However, Akai is well known for different reasons. She's well known for her interesting food preferences, awful cooking, and her "blessed" ear-splitting screams. Which, oddly enough, caused hundreds, if not then millions, to fall for her instantly.
But it was not always like that. Haato and her sister, Haachama, used to be idols together. They both aimed for stardom together. Hell, they even swore to reach the summit of stardom together but, midway through their journey, Haachama chose another path, which led Haato to face the challenges of stardom by herself.
It was saddening at first, but the idol eventually got used to it. However, the more and more Haachama kept walking down a separate path from her twin, the more Haato felt alone.
First, it was Haato and Haachama's separation. It didn't bother the idol as much because they could call one another or visit the other's house but, now she couldn't do that because Haachama immigrated to Australia to pursue her studies.
If Haato hadn't felt lonely before, she now felt the great impact of loneliness. She felt like there was no one by her side. It felt like not being woken up by her sister was unusual, and it felt weird not being teased for her odd tastes whenever she cooked food for herself. It didn't feel right either that the other side of the table lacked Haachama's presence.
No matter how many smiles her audience and fellow idols shot in Akai's direction, it didn't make her feel anything. She could fake a smile, yes, but she knows the others could tell it wasn't genuine.
If only her twin sister never left.
The only one who made her feel like she wasn't alone was also out of her reach, Y/N L/N.
"Oi!" Haachama called out to the other person at the call's attention.
"Eh?" Haato shot up in her seat, her attention now on the computer, finally noticing that her team was being attacked.
"Stop dozing off!"
"Sorry I-" The idol who was dozing off tried to apologize, but her twin interrupted her.
"We're in a middle of a rank game here, stupid! I want to win this round so we can finally sleep after this round!"
"I'm sorry, I've just been dozing off lately-" The twin from Japan tried to apologize but was interrupted once again.
"Stop talking. More keyboard smashing." Haachama demanded.
The blonde idol was tired herself, but she complied with her twin sister's demands, knowing that Haachama was quite competitive and her toxicity would spew out more if Haato didn't comply.
The twins spent the next few minutes aggressively smashing their respective keyboards whilst spouting out random commands to aid each other on the battlefield, hoping to get their desired ranks. In the end, their efforts to be one of the very best were nothing but futile.
"I blew that last round." Haato muttered under her breath, her blue eyes boring into the ceiling above her. She was not only disappointed in herself but in pain with the fact that her skills weren't on par as usual.
"Don't have to tell me twice." The twin from Australia muttered, her voice indicating that she was frustrated as well.
"What's with you anyway? Is something bothering you?"
Her twin's words surprised Haato. Haachama rarely showed interest in emotions, especially with Haato's. In most cases, Haachama's more focused on being chaotic and acting like a child while repeating her name like a broken record but, the idol assumed that their separation may have changed her twin to become more mature.
"I never took you for the caring type." Haato jokes, which earned her a grumble from the other side of the call.
"Because I'm not." The twin with an eye patch admitted, then added on. "You're the one who's usually quick to read people's emotions and you're more empathetic than me."
"Are you sure you aren't the one who's troubled here?" The idol asked, failing to mask her amusement from the sudden change of attitude from her twin, which Haachama could tell, she could even imagine Haato wearing an amused look.
"Don't try to change the course of the topic, ya' dunce face." The idol's twin hissed.
Haato could tell that Haachama's patience was thinning, which caused the smile on her lips to widen more, along with the urge to tease her twin more.
"That's a lot coming from someone who's quite dense themselves." Haato shot back.
"That's it, I'm ending the call-" Haachama threatened, which led for Haato to impulsively say the next words.
"I miss you." Haato confessed with a sad smile, which her twin sister could tell from her voice alone.
"You're still moping about me leaving Japan?"
The blonde idol didn't say a word, but she silently nodded; forgetting that the twins weren't doing a video call, so Haachama couldn't see her actions. Despite not knowing if Haato agreed or not, Haachama guessed that her twin's silence was confirming her suspicions.
"You should really go outside more, you're clearly too attached to me." The twin from Australia half jokingly advised.
The blonde idol wasn't amused, not that the joke was bad but, because she knew she couldn't do that. She couldn't just go out freely like she used to; I mean, she could go out with her fellow idols but there were people out there who were adamant to destroy her privacy for various reasons, thus leading her to not leave her room. In fear of her life getting ruined.
"Oh! Why don't you try going out on a date or something? Someone by your side, besides your beloved sister, might help."
"Did you forget about the rules that the management set up for our safety?" Haato questioned, confused by the fact that her twin sister was talking as though the idol could freely do the things she wanted to do back then.
"I won't lie, I forgot most of them." Haachama's admission made her twin laugh. Her statement was to be expected, seeing as how different their worlds were now.
"Idols can't date. Plus, you know what happened to Mano Aloe when her fans found out she was dating someone..." The twin from Japan reiterated, which triggered a familiar shiver going down her spine as she recalled the days of Mano Aloe crying out in pain in the back room as the former idol read the death threats and comments sent towards her direction, acting as though she wasn't human as well.
"Right, sorry, I forgot." The twin with an eye patch muttered, followed by the thick sound of silence from both sides.
"However," Haachama said, which caused Haato's ears to rise in anticipation for the next words that her twin would say.
"They won't know if you go after someone who's not in Japan or do online dating. Like Y/N L/N for instance."
Haato could hear her twin sister smirking from the other side, which didn't help that a path of pink emitted on her cheeks at the mention of her online friend c̶r̶u̶s̶h̶.
"Plus, didn't you say years ago that you liked them?" The twin from Australia teased. Despite their distance, Haachama knew her twin sister was blushing, redder than Miko Sakura's hair at that.
"Why would you bring them up right now!?" Haato exclaimed flusteredly, obviously caught off guard by sudden discourse.
"Because I happen to know that Y/N is in Australia."
The blonde idol felt a powerful tug on her heartstrings, not expecting that Y/N was within Haachama's reach. For a moment, she even felt jealous of the fact that her sister was settling on the same land as them. If Haachama and Haato switched places, would Y/N and Haato have ended up together?
