Family?

Luffy stared blankely at Whitebeard while the rest of us either stood or sat with our mouth open in shock.

"... What do you mean? I have my family here. Ace, Aoi, Sabo, everyone is here. Did we have a missing brother or sister? I mean, Vista is away a lot..." he said.

"No, Luffy. We mean your birth family. Your Dad and your older sister. We found them." Dawn said. Luffy stared at her.

"My... dad and older sister?" He asked. Dawn nodded. Luffy frowned.

"But the only dad and sisters I know are the Old Man, Aoi and Yatsumi." He said with a frown.

"They're your biological family. The ones you were with before you were here." Dawn explained.

"So, wait, do they want him back? They want to take him away?" Sabo asked. Ace pulled Luffy closer to him.

"That's up to Luffy." Dawn said. They all stared.

"What do you mean it's up to me?" Luffy asked.

"Your father and sister haven't asked for anything other than to meet you. What your sister tells me is that she and your father acknowledge that they've missed your entrie life, but they just want to see you and be part of your life. Even if it's only a little bit." Dawn said.

"So... they don't want me back?" Luffy asked. Dawn sighed.

"I'm sure they do, Luffy. They just don't want to disrupt your entire life." She said. Luffy looked down.

"Do you want to meet them? You could have Ace or Sabo with you." She said. He glanced at me from the corner of his eye.

"Can Ai-chan come?" He asked. I stared at him in surprise. Dawn looked at me.

"If it makes you feel better, yes." She said. Luffy sighed in relief.

"Yeah. I... I want to meet them." He said. I grabbed his hand. He looked over at me. I smiled softly and rubbed his hand. He smiled at me and leaned against me.

"Alright, So Aisuru, Luffy and I will-"

"Sabo." Luffy interrupted Ace. Ace stared at Luffy in surprise.

"I want Sabo to come with me." Luffy said. Ace's eyes widened. I knew why, normally Luffy would go to Ace first.

"Are you sure, Luffy?" Sabo asked. Luffy nodded.

"I want Sabo and Ai-chan with me when I meet my dad and big sister." He said surely. Dawn nodded in understanding.

"Alright. I'll call them and let them know that you have agreed to meet. I'll call you as soon as I know when and where. Alright?" Dawn asked, looking at us. The three of us nodded. After that, Dawn left. Zoro cleared is throat.

"I hate to say it, but I think game night is over." Zoro said.

"No! It's fine! We cam keep going!" Luffy insisted.

"Luffy, I really think you need to talk to your brothers and Old Man about this meeting and it's not something for us to hear. We can do game night again, but this seems a little more important." Nami said. I squeezed Luffy's hand and used my free hand to shut off my laptop.

"I agree with Nami." I said softly. Luffy rested his head on my shoulder.

"Please stay." He whispered to me. I nodded and rested my head on his. I stroked his hand softly.

"Well, we'll see you later. Text us okay, buddy?" Sanji asked as he saved and closed Skyrim. Everyone shut everything down and left. I was left alone with Ace, Aoi, Sabo, Whitebeard and Luffy.

"Luffy-" Whitebeard started.

"What if they hate me?" He asked softly. I stared at Luffy in shock. He actually cared about what someone thought of him?

"They won't." I said. He frowned.

"How do you know? They gave me up! They left me on a door step and just-"

"Luffy, look at me." I interrupted. He looked at me. I stared in to his deep brown eyes.

"Yes, they left you. But that doesn't mean that they hate you. Maybe something was happening and they had to give you up to protect you, or they thought you would have a better life this way. We don't know the full story, but I know that it's not possible for them to hate you." I said. He blinked.

"You really think so, Ai-chan?" He asked me. I nodded and gave him a gentle smile.

"I really do. After all, you're you! What's not to love?" I said with a bright smile. Luffy smiled and hugged me.

"Thank you, Ai-chan." He murmured. I kissed his cheek.

"Of course." I said. He smiled at me again with his signature grin that always made my heart melt.

Time skip

"Ai-chan." I heard Luffy call. I turned and smiled at him, closing my locker.

"Hi, Luffy." I said with a smile. Luffy hugged me as he always did, but he held on a bit longer.

"Luffy?" I asked.

"It's this weekend at a resturant called Mountain Valley Café at one." He said. I pulled him closer and hugged him tighter.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

"I... I don't know." He said. I leaned back and cupped his cheeks, looking in to his eyes.

"You can do it. Sabo and I will be there with you, remember?" I asked. He nodded.

"Nervous?" I asked. He nodded again. I smiled at him and kissed him softly on the lips.

"Don't be. Everything will be okay." I said.

"What if they want to take me away?" He asked.

"Dawn said that it was up to you, remember? If you don't want to leave, you don't have to." I said. Luffy hugged me again and buried his face in my neck. I kissed his cheek softly.

"Everything will be okay, Luffy. I know it will. Don't stress yourself out so much." I said. Though I was one to talk. What if they did take Luffy away? Would we break up? Would I ever see him again?

I love Luffy, and I want him to be happy. But I don't want to be alone again, either. I would miss him so much. I'd miss his hugs, his smile, his kisses, his laugh, his protectiveness, him.

I hugged him tighter, knowing that this might end up beimg the last Luffy hug I ever get.
