Day at the Mall
"Let's look at some dresses!" Nami said. Ki groaned.
"Come on, Ki! Homecoming is going to be coming up soon! You and Zoro are gonna go together, aren't you?" Nami asked.
"He hasn't asked me yet. Probably because homecoming is a month away." Ki said. She shrugged.
"Besides, we'll probably just watch Netflix at his place like we did last year." She said.
"You mean Netflix and chill?" Nami asked. Aisuru watched with wide eyes as red climbed higher up Ki's face.
"You mean-" Aisuru started.
"Oh yeah, they've done it." Nami said. Ki's blush darkened.
"Nami, shut up." She said.
"They do it often. Actually, wasn't homecoming last year when you let Zoro take your V-card?" Nami asked Ki.
"Nami, I swear to god I will drown you in that fountain." Ki threatened. Nami stuck her tongue out at Ki.
"Well... as long as you use protection." Aisuru said. Nami burst in to laughter as Ki fell out of her chair. Aisuru reached out and helped Ki stand back up.
"You know what? You two go ahead and look at some dresses. I'll be in GameStop." Ki said.
"Aww, Ki, come on! We're just having a little fun!" Nami said. Ki cleared her throat.
"No. You know I don't like dress shopping, Nami. So, I'm gonna see if there are any games that I don't have already in GameStop. Come get me when you're done." She said and with that, Ki had disapeared inside the game store. Nami scoffed.
"Like she's going to find anything. She's got a collection of almost everything." Nami said. Aisuru giggled at the two went in to JCPenny's.
"Hey, Nami... Could I ask you something?" Aisuru asked.
"Huh? Well, sure, Aisuru. What's up?" Nami asked. Aisuru's eyes dropped to the ground.
"Well... the other day at school.... I heard a rumor that you and Luffy dated last year. I was wondering if it was true." Aisuru said in a small voice.
"Yeah, but we broke up. I'm with Sanji now." Nami said. Aisuru nodded.
"Why did you break up, if you don't mind me asking?" She asked. Nami sighed as she went through a rack of dresses.
"Luffy is a sweet guy and all. He's funny, always so optimistic, cares about his friends a lot. But when it came to being affectionate..." Nami sighed again.
"He wasn't really affectionate. Yeah, he'd hold my hand, but that was about it. No hugs other than his usual dorkish friend hugs, no cuddling, no kisses. Not even on the cheek! It was nice not having him smother me, but still. Just something would have been nice. We decided that it was best just to stay friends." She said.
"Wasn't it awkward?" Aisuru asked.
"It was for the first couple of months, but after a while, it was like we had never dated in the first place. We were back to the comfortable friendship." Nami said.
"And you and Sanji? How did you get together?" Aisuru asked. A breathless, almost lovesick sigh escaped Nami.
"When first meeting Sanji I thought he was just a flirt that couldn't handle a relationship. But, while we were in the Bahamas over summer break, I finally caved and went on a date with him and it was wonderful. He only kept his eyes on me the entire time. And instead of the normal loud shout of how beautiful I am, it was just a simply said "you look beautiful in that dress" and he was such a gentleman. He'd hold the door open for me, pull my chair out for me." She said.
"What about his flirting with other girls?" Aisuru asked. Nami giggled and shook her head.
"It's only every now and then to tease me. It's just how he is. But really, he's a caring guy." Nami said. Aisuru nodded.
"He does seem like the type to be protective of his girl." She said. Nami nodded.
"He is." She said. She pulled a dress from the rack and held it out to Aisuru.
"Try this on!" She said, handing her a red dress.
Aisuru gave it a curious look, taking a peak at the back of it to be sure, then nodded. She walked in to the dressing room and slid it on as Nami hunted for more dresses. After she was finished changing, she stepped out.
"Awwww! Aisuru, you look adorable in that!" Nami cooed, pulling out her phone and taking pictures of her. Aisuru blushed. Nami grinned brightly at her.
"You have to buy it!" Nami said. Aisuru shook her head. She reached out to a rack that held a dress that caught her eye earlier.
"This one first." She said. She took the dress back in to the dressing room and tried it on, then came back out.
"Awww! You look like a cute little ballerina!" Nami said, making Aisuru blush shyly again. Aisuru bought the ballerina type dress, but Nami insisted on buying the other one for her. Nami also bought two other dresses. She said one was hers and the other she was going to force Ki to wear. Name's was light blue while Ki's was emerald green.
"Alright, now lets go. It's starting to get dark out. Ki is probably bored from looking at games she already owns. Unless she found someone to teach her tricks to." Nami said. Aisuru giggled and nodded and the two made their way to Ki.
"So, Aisuru, did you have a lot of friends back in West Blue?" Nami asked. Aisuru shook her head.
"Mom's husband didn't like it when I left the house for any reason other than school. If I was late getting home then I'd be punished." She said.
"You're step-father?"
"That man will never be any form of father to me. All he did was marry my mom." Aisuru glared at the ground.
"Aisuru..." Nami said.
"I hated him from the moment I met him, and he doesn't like me, either. He got mad when I refused the adoption papers. That's why I'm back here with Dad." She said. Nami grabbed Aisuru's hand.
"Did he ever abuse you?" Nami asked.
"I don't want to talk about it, Nami. I just know that things are going to be better here. I have Dad. And I have you, and Ki and Luffy, and Sanji, and Usopp, and Zoro." She said. Nami hugged Aisuru.
"And you'll always have us, Aisuru. You can always come to me if you ever need help or if you just wanna talk." She said. Aisuru nuzzled Nami's cheek.
"Awww, you're like a little puppy!" Nami cooed, making Aisuru giggle. Nami didn't press Aisuru further on her past.
After collecting Ki from the game store, they went home.
