The next morning, Harry promised me that he would go out and buy more ornaments. I told him that we didn't need them, but he insisted on replacing the ones he had broken.

I offered to go with him, but he told me to stay at home and rest. It wasn't like I needed it. Harry and I had went to bed only half an hour after the sun set and woken up at 9.

He gave me a peck on the lips before he headed out to the shop.

While he was gone, I decided to clean up a little bit. He had done a good job of getting the glass shards up off the floor, but I wanted to make sure there weren't any under the couch or bookshelf. One did manage to hit me from feet away.

I also got a call from my mum while he was out.

"Why didn't you stay with me last night? You lied to me," she said skipping the usual greeting.

"I didn't lie to you. Plans were changed. I'm sorry."

"Well, I've put some thinking into it and maybe your little boyfriend was right. Don't expect to come back to work until January 12th."

"Really? Thank you so much!"

"Keep in mind that this isn't a paid vacation. I hope you have enough money to do you until then," she said before hanging up the phone.

All I could think about was how happy Harry would be. My mind raced with thoughts about a winter vacation and maybe even going to his parents' for Christmas instead of them coming to us.

"Harry!" I said excitedly when he came throughout the door.

I startled him, almost making him drop the bags, but he caught them in the last second.

"What?"

"My mum called and she's giving me the whole month off! I don't have to go back until January!"

"That's great, babe!" he said wrapping his arms tightly around me.

"I was thinking, maybe after we get the tree set up and everything we could maybe go on a little vacation or something. We haven't been on one by ourselves before."

"I don't think it'd be a good idea," he said staring down at his fingers, "I don't like airports and the holidays just make it worse."

"Just think about it, okay? I was just thinking about how stressed out the two of us have been with my work and your schoolwork and the murders in town and stuff like that."

"I'll think about it," he grinned.

"Now let's put these ornaments up. I want them just the way you had them before."

"Why?"

"It adds character, silly," I said tapping his nose.

The corners of his mouth turned up as he opened the first box of ornaments. They were red and grey polka dot printed. I actually liked them a lot more than our other ones.

While he was handing me one, I noticed the cut on his finger. It looked really deep and I felt extremely sorry for him. The cut on my knee was just a scratch, but it still hurt when I touched it.

When we were finished, the ornaments Harry had hung up were once again in random clumps. The ones that I had put up were fairly spread out, but honestly I liked his technique much better. He was right. It added character.

Harry laid a blanket down on the floor beside the tree and lay down on it. I did the same.

"Marilyn Lee?"

I love it when Harry called me by my first and middle name. I considered Lee to be a boy's name, but when he said it, I liked it.

"Yes?"

"I love you."

"If this is some cheesy way of proposing, can you wait for when I'm prepared?"

"This isn't a proposal," he said laughing loudly.

"Oh, well I guess I love you too."

"Oh really?" he said poking me in the side.

I erupted into a fit of laughter and so did he. He knew that I was ticklish on my sides.

"You want to know something?" he asked propping himself up in his elbow.

"Sure."

"I was kind of offended by you wanting to go on a vacation."

"Why is that?"

"I could relieve your stress right now."

He got on top of me and started to kiss me passionately. He traced the outline of my lips with his tongue while he pushed his bottom half closer and closer to me.

He lifted my shirt, rubbing his hands up and down my sides. His belt buckle pressed into my stomach, creating a cold sensation on my warm skin.

I kissed Harry's ear lobe, causing him to let out a soft moan. His mouth made his way back to mine and he made sure that our tongues touched.

His mouth was warm and tasted like cinnamon gum. I moaned into his mouth and I felt his smile on my lips.

"You feel better now?" he asked, getting up off of me.

"Much better."

"Maybe we should do that more often," he winked before walking into the bathroom.

His shirt was off and I noticed a few scratch marks on his back. I didn't even remember leaving them there. I guess that was the effect he had on me.
