Chapter 2: Weapon smith
P.O.V. [Name]
It's been almost a week since I was brought to this place. It's a little small but given the reason behind it I guess it's not that unusual. However it's been almost an entire week since I had seen the person that had saved me.
I then saw a male with green hair and green eyes looking at me. "I'm here for my axe," he said looking at me. I nodded when he said this and I pulled out the axe that he had given me yesterday.
"I tried to fix to the best of my ability but given the amount of time that you gave me it's not in the best condition," I said looking at him as he examined the axe.
"Maybe not but it'll do for now," He said looking at me. He then placed a small amount of Lein in front of me and began to walk away. As he did I sighed and waited for anyone to come up to me. I waited for a few minutes and then sighed.
When I did I walked over to the bag that I had brought here. I then looked in it and smiled seeing that the special ore that I had found was still there. I'm sure one day this will make someone an amazing sword.
"What's that?" I heard a familiar female voice ask. When I heard this I turned around and saw a familiar figure standing in front of me.
"Just something I found a while ago. When I have enough free time I'd like to turn it into a weapon," I said as I close the bag. I then got up and walked over to the female. "So do you need a weapon fixed? Or maybe you have some armor you want me to repair?" I asked looking at her.
"No I just came to check and see how you're doing," She said looking at me. I sighed hearing this and looked at her.
"Business is slow some days but other than everything's fine," I said as I looked at her. When I said this she nodded and looked at me.
"Tell me how skilled are you when it comes to combat?" She asked looking at me.
"I don't know, I'm okay I guess," I said looking at her.
"If I were to attack you, how would you respond?" She asked looking at me.
"I'd probably try to get away from you," I said looking at her.
"Why? You're surrounded by weapons there must be something here that you know how to use," She asked looking at me.
"Not really, I never really trained with any weapons. I can forge and fix them until your hearts content, but other than that I can do much," I said looking at her. She nodded when I said this and looked at me.
"I usually believe in the old philosophy of survival of the fittest. The logic the strong will live and the weak will die. Yet here you are, you're weak and yet somehow you've found a way to help the strong get stronger. You're quite the unusual figure," She said looking at me.
"I guess that's a way to look at it," She said looking at me. I had forgotten how straightforward she was about not liking me. Actually now that I think about it she actually reminds me of my old master in a way.
We were then quiet for a few moments before she turned her attention to my bag. "So what kind of special material did you find?" She asked looking at me. I smiled when she asked this and picked up the bag.
When I did I moved it over to the counter and pulled the bag back revealing the large chunk of ore that I had gotten almost a year ago. It didn't seem like much at first however every few seconds a few veins in the ore would glow red and for a moment would look like lava.
"This is one of the rarest materials in all of Remnant," I said looking at her.
"What is it?" She asked looking at me.
"It's been named Rongyan," I said looking at her.
"Is it worth anything?" Raven asked looking at me.
"Yeah, just a pound of this is worth almost a million lein," I said looking at the ore. When I said this I smiled and looked at the stone. I didn't need to look at her to tell that she had a shocked expression on her face. That was just a pound I haven't took the time to weigh this piece yet but it feels like twenty pounds.
"What makes it so valuable?" She asked looking at me.
"The ore only forms in the heart of a Volcano on a small island off the cost of Anima," I said as I looked at the female.
"If it's so valuable then why didn't you sell it? I'm sure with the money that you'd make off this you could have started your own shop anywhere you wanted," She said looking at me.
"Yeah, but this was really hard to get. This ore has special properties to it. I mean just look at it, steam is coming off it just from standing her. Not to mention it's still really hot. I had to use this special bag because the others that I had kept catching on fire," I said looking at her. She said looking at me.
"So what do you plan on doing with it?" She asked looking at me.
"I'm going to turn it into a weapon. I haven't decided what kind yet but a sword seems like it'd be the quickest and easiest to do. Especially with a ore this tough," I said looking at her.
"Then why haven't you made it yet? This seems like something you really want," She said looking at me.
"It is but I haven't found a forge that meets the requirements that I need to mold this ore yet. I want an open flame forge so that I can make sure that I don't lose any of the Rongyan when I'm separating it from the stone around it. It also need to be an incredibly hot forge something akin to fire dust. I'd also need an assistant with a massive aura reserve. Someone capable of putting out aura for almost an entire week," I said looking at her.
When I said this she seemed a little surprised and I put the bag over the ore once again. "But until I have those things this dream will just have to stay a dream," I said looking at the bag as I placed it down.
"I see . . . Well I'm glad to see that you're adjusting well," She said looking at me. I nodded when she said this and watched as she began to walk away.
